Chapter 32

“Tiffany!”

Tiffany didn’t stop running as she heard Jaejoong shouting her name on the way to the car park. Putting herself harshly in the driver seat, she closed her eyes, suddenly feeling so weary.

‘Kim Jaejoong has ripped you off.’ Those words echoed in her mind. Tears pricked her eyes as she couldn’t think about anything except for him & his betrayal. What kind of man would have been so willing to sacrifice his lover, just to save his reputation & money? She shook her head, ‘The kind of man you have fallen in love with, that is the kind of man he is.’ Her mind reminded her. The man who had stolen her heart.

“Tiffany.”

His voice was soft that at first she thought she was dreaming. God knew how much she had miss him badly during these last three months. She had been counting the days since he left Korea for his job. He had always been in her dream every night but when she felt his touch on her arm she knew it was no dream. Her eyes flew open & she looked up at the man of her dreams who betrayed her cruelly.

His dark hair was wind-tousled, his eyes cloudy. He was wearing the short sleeve original mesh polo blue shirt she had chosen for him when they went shopping in France & a pair of levi’s deep lichen green jeans. She felt herself melt inside as her love for him, like a gold arrow, pierced her heart & made her tremble, ‘I can’t hate him.’ She muttered, under her breath. She loved him deeply, for god sake. She couldn’t resist him if he asked her to forgive him. She always had an open heart for him only.

“Why did you run away? I need to talk to you.” He opened the passenger door & sat down beside her. He took her hand gently but she quickly pulled it back, “Why are you looking at me as if you hate me so much? I felt hurt, Fany.”

Hurt?

She felt tears choke . Wasn’t that how she too had felt when she knew what he did to her?

“I’m sorry.” Her voice was husky, “I can’t believe myself that you are that kind of man. I trusted you. Even I gave myself to you.” She turned her head to face him, “I do hate you for what you have done to me.”

“What have I done? I did nothing to harm you.”

“Did nothing?” She let out a sarcastic laugh, “I know your real intention to court me, Jaejoong Oppa & I don’t blame you. I only blame myself for being so naive & stupid to fall into your trapped!”

Jaejoong swallowed hard before he took in a deep breath, “Tiffany, please. Could we talk as good friends? I really don't understand.”

Hurt glowed in his eyes & a look of love so intense that Tiffany felt as if the ground had given way under her & she was falling into space. His eyes were even more gorgeous than she remembered. They were still eyes to drown in & she felt herself drowning in them now, even though her mind was screaming loudly to remind her of logical part.

Turning her face to the building across the road, she said hoarsely, “Does the bank of Korea giving you any clue?” Jaejoong’s face turned pale. He drew in a deep breath slowly. He stared at her in fear, “Fany, I can explain.”

“You wouldn’t have done this to me, would you, Oppa?”

The way she said those words to him had made his heart squeeze in pain while his head was suddenly spinning, “I wish I wouldn’t have done this to you, Fany, but the situation was different back then. Believe me. We were enemies. I thought you were my father’s mistress, the woman that made my mother cry every night. I was so angry & I swore to…”

“Please stop.” She said in a trembling voice, raising her right hand. She longed to cry with every cell in her body she wanted to cry but she didn’t want to cry in front of him. It would make the pain become even more unbearable & she wouldn’t be able to bear it. It was already bad enough. Better to make a peaceful break now as she had planned to do before. Actually, she had been thinking about it for the last three days about this, “Tiffany, please give me a chance to explain. It’s not what you are thinking.”

She shook her head with teary-eyes
