Sleeping with the Enemy (Repost)Chapter 19
Park Yoochun was definitely an unhappy person in the opening ceremony of the asian lawyer association yearly meeting this year. The large Hilton conference hall was filled to capacity. He watched as Kim Jaejoong gave his speech as a keynote speaker at the podium. He narrowed his eyes when everyone in the hall gave Jaejoong a standing applauses for his professional speech. He let out a big sigh of anger as his eyes spotted Tiffany smiling proudly at Jaejoong from her seat at the first row table. Just thinking about Kim Jaejoong made him want to punch him & go away.
The speech was over & now, everybody got up to get their welcoming drink before they proceeded to the next session. Jaejoong was caught in the front foyer as some senior lawyers congratulated him. Yoochun could see clearly that Jaejoong was smiling proudly & shaking hands with a big grin on his face. They were involved in a light conversation, “Stupid grin!” He said to himself. He sighed, ‘Now, where’s Tiffany?’ He scanned the room to look for her.
There she was, at the corner of the room, near the balcony.
A waiter came around with a tray of champagne. Yoochun quickly took two glasses as he saw Tiffany walking towards his direction. Tiffany didn’t see him as she smiled politely to everyone who greeted her. He would give her a surprises.
“Hi, Tiffany.”
Tiffany was shocked as somebody called her name. She turned her head & saw a smiling Yoochun in front of her, “Yoochun Oppa, what a pleasant surprises.”
“Oh, yes.” He smiled at her. He gave her a glass of champagne, “How are you?”
“I’m fine, thanks.” She said, & when she saw the disappointment look on his face, she quickly added, “I’m sorry about this. I should have let you know that I…”
Yoochun smiled at her & waved his hand, “It’s alright. Its not a big deal, Tiffany.” He paused, clearing his throat, “Why you are here? Who’s your partner?” He pretended to be innocent, scanning the room.
“He...He...He’s Jaejoong. Kim Jaejoong.” Tiffany said softly, biting her lower glossy baby pink lips. Her index finger pointed to the direction where Jaejoong was standing, busy talking with his colleagues.
“I see.” Yoochun nodded his head, “I didn’t know you are having a relationship with him.” He added softly, while his eyes were staring deeply at her.
Sighing deeply, Tiffany looked at him in a pleading look, “It’s not what you think. We just.” She stopped as she remembered their agreement that they weren’t allowed to tell anyone about their secret deal & she had promised Jaejoong.
“Yes?”
“I’m sorry, Oppa. I wish I could tell you.” She apologized, with her eyes.
“That’s okay. We’re good friends. I understand you.” He sipped his drink. He had expected she would choose not to tell him what happened, “I was wondering why the flower shop had closed & you are nowhere to be found. It’s too bad I don’t have your address & phone number instead of your shop’s number.”
“Oh.” She answered blankly.
Yoochun lifted his glass. Tiffany glowered at him & then lifted hers, “To friendship.” Yoochun said.
Tiffany nodded, smiling beautifully.
“How’s your day been?”
Tiffany looked at him as if she had lost her memory, “Good.”
Yoochun looked at her who had already turned her head to look at the other side of the room, Jaejoong’s side. In his view, she behaved like a good friend.
“I’m sorry, Tiffany. I know I’m not good company.”
Tiffany’s brows knotted tightly. Then her lips curved into a pretty smile, “I’m sorry. I couldn’t concentrate in this room.”
“Is it because of Kim?”
“No. I mean, yes. I was just wondering where he is. He promised me to…” Her voice trailed away as somebody interrupted their conversation.
“Yoochun!” Someone with a deep voice called out Yoochun’s name loudly.
They turned their heads instantly & saw a guy with a friendly smile on his slim, oval-shaped face.
“Changmin, how are you?”
“Fine. Fine. Look at you now. You’re a big boss now, buddy?” He paused & turned his brown, almond-shaped eyes to Tiffany who was standing next to him, “Aren’t you going to introduce me to your lovely partner tonight?”
Yoochun smiled at Tiffany while she was shuddering in fear, ‘Oh god, what am I going to do? This guy thinks I’m Oppa’s partner.’ She wondered.
“Oh, yes.” Yoochun said, with a grin, “This is Shim Changmin, the vice president of this association. Hey, by the way, where’s your partner tonight?”
Changmin grinned, “She will join me tomorrow night as she couldn’t make it.”
“Is she beautiful?”
Changmin nodded firmly without losing his smile, “She’s gorgeous like this young lady here. I met her in the China eight months ago when I had a meeting in Tibet. She was the representative of the client that I was dealing with for the last three years. The time I met her, I knew she was the right woman for me. Then we started dating &.” He stopped rambling as he realized he was in public, “What the hell am I doing here?! I’m telling you my love story. My goodness. My girlfriend would kill me if she knows.”
They laughed.
“Hey, buddy. You haven’t introduced her to me yet.” Changmin gave Tiffany a wink.
Tiffany smiled at him. She liked this guy, Shim Changmin, straight away as she felt his friendly welcome. No wonder he was chosen as a vice president of this association as he was an easygoing person.
“I’m…”
“Tiffany Hwang.” Yoochun finished for her with a grin.
“Nice to meet you, Tiffany.” Changmin reached out his hand, “As Yoo said, I’m Changmin. Let’s have a drink.” He waved to the waiter, asking for more drinks.
