Sleeping with the Enemy (Repost)Chapter 36
They were in the living room of her house. Yoochun looked at the house with admiration & remarked absently, “You have a beautiful home.”
Tiffany smiled, “It’s not my home. My uncle bought it for me.”
“Your uncle?”
She nodded, “Kim Hyunwoo, Jaejoong’s father.”
“Huh?” He knitted his eyebrows, watching her with disbelief. He sat in one of the comfortable wooden chairs & watched as she brought two cups of tea.
“I hate to say this but.” She paused, trying hard to smile, “Jaejoong & I are first cousins.”
“What?”
“My father, Kim Hyunjun, is his father’s twin brother.”
“No wonder you & him broke up. Oh, I mean, it’s hard to believe, Tiffany.”
She shrugged her shoulders, “There’s nothing impossible in a real life.” She murmured.
“But there is something good that you could take, isn’t it?” He agreed.
With a smile, she settled herself even more comfortably in her chair. There was silence in the room. Yoochun put down his cup on the table & sat down beside her, “Let’s relax for a moment. I know how your feeling right now.” He said gently, “Kim Jaejoong isn’t the only man in this world.”
Tiffany didn’t say a word. She took her cup & sip. It was warm against . For a while, they sat in companionable silence. The room was in semi-darkness & she glanced around, trying to find an excuse to send Yoochun off.
“Are you okay, Tiffany?” He glanced over at her thoughtfully, “You are angry with me, aren’t you?”
Tiffany shook her head, “Why should I? You are my good friend. I like being your friend.”
“Thanks.”
Yoochun watched over her face. Her skin had a smooth, creamy quality without any mark. She looked very young & her eyes lifted to look over at him. There was a vulnerable air & sadness about her that intrigued him, ‘Is it about Jaejoong?’ He wondered.
“I hope I haven’t disturbed your night too much. You looked tired.” He said casually, “What were your original plans for tonight?”
“They were nothing special, only I have to see my aunt to discuss about Jae...uh, something.” She tried to keep her voice equally light.
Yoochun notice the sudden color in her cheeks & knew what she was planning to say. Jaejoong. He hated that name.
“Maybe we have a few things in common that we have yet to discover.” He said lightly.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, you & I, we can go together well.”
“Oppa.”
He put his long index finger on her lips, “Don’t say anything. I know it’s too early for us.” He drew in a deep breath, “Since my mother died, I have been lonely & desperate. I supposed I shouldn’t complain. I was glad to meet you, talking about many things so many hours. It helped take my mind off of things about her.” He showed her his sadness by sighing deeply a few times.
“It must have been a dreadful time.” Tiffany said sympatically.
“Worst.”
She placed her hand in his, showing her support as a friend, “I’m so sorry, Oppa.”
The gentle sympathy of her voice jerked him from his contemplation of the past. He smiled thankfully, “Life goes on. We have to deal with it. Do you agree with me?”
She nodded her head. Realizing that he might not want to talk about the topic anymore, Tiffany took an initiative to change the subject, “How’s work going?”
“As usual. Busy & boring.”
They both laughed.
There was silence for a moment again.
“Tiffany, do you still want to continue our case?”
She turned her head, watching him, “What case?”
“Your case against Kim Jaejoong remember?”
“Oh.” She lowered her head, “I don’t th
