Sleeping with the Enemy (Repost)Chapter 20
Jaejoong & Tiffany jerked their head up. Changmin Shim stood beside them, a smile on his friendly face. His eyes rolled to Jaejoong & Tiffany.
“No/Yes.” Tiffany & Jaejoong answered, at the same time.
“I’m going inside to get some ice cold water. It’s very hot here.” Jaejoong said, leaving Changmin & Tiffany without turning his head. His mouth hardened.
Tiffany let out a breath, “I think you should take eight glasses at once.” She glared at him.
Jaejoong turned his head & glared back at her. Their eyes met. He said nothing, only looked at her as if he had never seen her before. Then he let out his breath. He struggled to keep his temper under control. This Park Yoochun was really his worst nightmare.
After a few seconds of silence, Tiffany turned her head to face Changmin while Jaejoong was kicking some stones on the way to the ballroom.
“What’s wrong with Kim?” Changmin asked softly, his smile fading away.
“Actually, I don’t understand what happened with him. I don’t want to know & I don’t care.” Tiffany said in a husky voice. Her eyes felt hot again. Tears filled her eyes. She blinked to fight the tears from falling on her cheeks.
“You two aren’t fighting, are you?”
“I don’t know. I was talking with Yoochun when he came & suddenly exploded & talked about ridiculous things.”
Changmin let out a big sigh of breath, “Park Yoochun?”
Tiffany lifted her head up, staring at him in puzzlement, “Yes, Park Yoochun. Why?”
“I can understand why he exploded.”
She stared at Changmin, waiting for his explanation. Wiping her tears, she held her breath. Jaejoong & Yoochun must have had some secrets that she didn’t know. Jaejoong hated Yoochun. She could tell from his gaze. However, Yoochun didn’t seem to hate him back. He was acting friendly to Jaejoong but nobody knew what had happened between them, right?
“I’m going back to the hotel.”
“You okay, Tiffany-Sshi? Do you want me to you back to the hotel?”
She nodded her head, “I’m fine. I just feel upset at his rudeness.” She took in a deep breath.
“Let me clear something here. Are you Jae’s partner or Yoochun’s?”
“Jaejoong.” Tiffany tried to hide her disappointment about Jaejoong being her partner.
Changmin gave her a questioning look, not knowing whether to believe her or not. Yoochun had been acting as if she was his girlfriend when he introduced her but now she told him that she was with Jaejoong.
Changmin took in a deep breath again. Both, Yoochun & Jaejoong were his good friends & he didn’t want anything to happened to either of them, “Yoochun & Jae. It’s a complicated matter.” He muttered, “Changmin-Sshi, if you don’t mind, please tell me about him & Yoochun. What happened between them? Why was he acting so crazily?”
Changmin took in a big deep breath before saying, “I don’t know if I’m supposed to tell you this.” He stopped, looking into Tiffany’s eyes, “Jae’s ex-fiance, Sunny, slept with Yoochun a week before their wedding day.” Tiffany’s mouth opened. Her eyes stared at Changmin in disbelief.
“Jae was depressed. He was betrayed by the time he was ready to start a new life together with Sunny. I think he loved her so much.” Changmin cleared his throat, “I can understand his feelings when he saw you & Yoochun together.”
“But...But it’s not completely Yoochun’s fault. Sunny was the one who betrayed Jaejoong, not Yoochun.”
“It’s not the first time Yoochun stole his girls. Since they were in high school together, Park Yoochun has been dating Jae’s girlfriends & taking them from him in a humiliating way. Jae had never fought Yoochun back. He knew Yoochun was better than him. Girls liked Yoochun better than Jae. Then Jae buried himself in studying hard to ease his broken heart. You never think that the successful lawyer Kim Jaejoong is actually a loser in love, do you?”
“I...I.” She hesitated to answer. The truth about Jaejoong was really shocking.
“Tiffany-Sshi, please don’t tell him I told you about him okay? Otherwise, he will punch me in the face. Jae is a tiger when he exploded. I know him well.” Changmin grinned.
She nodded, smiling lightly at him, “Thanks for telling me. I think I’m starting to understand his feelings.” “Good.” Changmin said, & then looked at his guess analog display quartz silver/blue watch, “I should be going. We have a first conference in three minutes.”
“Changmin-Sshi, could you please tell Jaejoong that I’m going back to the hotel? I’m tired.”
“Sure. I’ll tell him.”
“Thanks.”
Tiffany ran to the hotel entrance as it started raining, ‘Even a bright sky had turned dark.’ She thought herself sadly.
By nine o’clock in the evening, the rain had ended, leaving the sky over France a brightly dark blue. Tiffany looked at the view outside the window & sighed. What would she say to him? Of course, she didn’t want to give him any chance to explode in front of her ever. She hated a man who couldn’t control his temper, especially to a woman. She hated a man who acted like a dictator, telling her what she should do. It was ridiculous. The whole thing, ‘How could Jaejoong Oppa judge Yoochun Oppa as a bad guy? He is the bad guy, too. He insulted, humiliated & told me off several ti
