Chapter 17

The sound of the alarm clock woke Tiffany up. For a moment, she didn’t know where she was or what day it was. She didn’t even remember setting the alarm clock, ‘What time is it?’ She wondered. She blinked at the bright sunshine that shone across the glass window. She got up, yawning heavily. Her arm reached to turn off the alarm. There was a piece of paper on the bedside table, next to the alarm. Her eyes suddenly turned wide as she recognized Jaejoong’s handwriting, “He woke up already, huh? & he dared to come into the bedroom without my approval.” She murmured to herself. She had told him clearly that she didn’t like him looking at her while she was sleeping. They were staying at the Hilton Hotel where the conference was going to be held. Jaejoong booked a large & very luxurious suite where the bedroom was separated from the living room. He took his sleeping place on the sofa while Tiffany enjoyed the luxury of the bed covered with silk duvet alone.

She took the note & smiled as she read it.

‘Good morning, sweetheart.

Did you sleep well?

I can’t sleep so I woke up early.

Meet you in the lobby at eight for breakfast.

Don’t you dare to be late. (He drew a picture of smiling face at the end)

Love you always,

YWJ’

‘YWJ? YWJ? So, his initial was YWJ?’ She felt her heart missed a beat. The big letters of YWJ threw a jolt of pure pleasure through her heart, ‘Oh god, oh god, he was the one who always sent me surprises. He was the one who always sent me lunch & breakfast & a single rose everyday. He was my secret admirer.’ She had been wondering who he was whenever she received a gift with a little note on it. The initial of YWJ almost made her crazy with frustration. She thought it was Yoochun at first, however, when she brought the topic up, Yoochun didn’t seem to understand what she was talking about. Now, she understood. Yoochun wasn’t the man who always sent her a present & flower. Jaejoong was.

Why did he do that? During those days they were supposed to be enemies, right? She shook his head, not understanding his feelings. She never could understand his heart. He was full of surprises. She could never guess what his next move would be like & now, he was thinking about something else. She could see from his expression after he got a phone call last night. Did he say he couldn’t sleep, too? There must be something that was bothering him.

Tiffany smiled & leaned back against the pillow. Her eyes still stared at the little note on her hand, ‘YWJ? What could that be?’ She wondered, “I will have to ask him. Damn! He always wins over me.” She murmured. She turned her head to look at the window. She could see for miles over the sweep of a golden beach & the sea. It was spectacular. France was a beautiful country.

Smiling brightly, she looked at the memo again, & then with a shriek, leapt out of bed.

“Gosh. It’s seven thirty-five. I will be late again.” She quickly ran to get her clothes. She had to hurry & get showered before Jaejoong again, for her lateness.

As she stepped foot at the restaurant at the ground floor, she could see Jaejoong waiting for her. He was sitting on the chair, reading a newspaper. He looked relaxed & handsome in the bright sunlight. His fear, pain & agony that was on his face last night had disappeared. A big smile curved onto his face as he waved his hand when he saw Tiffany standing at the doorway.

“Good morning. Did you sleep well, Fany?” He approached her & took her hand gently.

She felt her heart beating against her chest as he reached to kiss her cheeks lightly.

“Morning, Jaejoong Oppa.” She pulled back from him, suddenly feeling shy in front of the public. She stared at him while her heart was pounding at about a million miles an hour. He was wearing a american rag, enoki flannel long sleeve indigo dye shirt & levi’s 514 straight-fit high-way wash jeans. He looked great as always, “I want to ask for your help, Fany.” His eyes were moving over her face. Then his eyes drifted over her figure. Tiffany was wearing a pair of inc international concepts curvy-fit bootcut, percy wash jeans & a inc international concept v-neck white tee. She looked attractive to his peace of mind.

Chapter 40: Tiffany is really a tease, playing Jaejoong along and won't say the three words he's longing to hear. And now it serves her right as she may lose him to death, or she may lose him anyway by becoming a nun in a last-ditch effort to bargain with God for his life. What a travesty! She could have given her answer positively much earlier and could have gone home and averted the meeting with the murderer. I think she's pregnant, but it's a surprise for her to start getting sick only after more than three months or so as a result of their night in Paris. Waiting for the sequel to read more about the foolish woman who is now distraught for dragging out giving Jae her answer... Actually, I won't mind a tragic ending but not at Jaejoong's expense, though I won't mind if Tiffany suffers for the rest of her life. She loses my sympathy by her dithering.

Chapter 30: I wonder how and when Jae's mother will confess that his father isn't Mr. Kim? Even then, the whole society will still recognize the two of them as first cousins and I believe in Korea first cousins aren't legally able to get married to each other? Or is it only social norms which forbid such unions? In our country, Burma, first cousins, if they descend from a brother and sister, can get married because of different fathers carrying different bloodlines, but it's a no-no for those descended from two brothers to ever get together. And even if a marriage takes place between first cousins coming from two brothers, society frowns on the union, and for scientific reasons too, their children will get double whammy of both good and bad genes. Their children, at least some of them, can turn into genuiuses or idiots, if they're unlucky. So, to break the problem of Jae and Tiffany, something must become undone. It's Mr. Kim's fault to keep silent about Tiffany's father being his twin, he could have at least hinted to her they can be very close relatives, so that Tiffany can guard herself against falling for Jae. So, it's the old man's job to find an acceptable solution. Waiting for an updates soon...
