Chapter 10

A While

For the rest of the week, our family lived in fear. Daehyun and I were moved to the basement, (Not to Byunghun’s favour,) and Mom and Dad slept in the living room. Right now, Daehyun, Byunghun and I were getting ready for school. I hated Tuesdays, since I had P.E. with a few members of EXO and SNSD. Amazing.

 “Eunji, if you don’t want to play soccer, you don’t have to.” Gayoon said to me in the change room. “It’s not even mandatory.”

 “No, it’s okay. I used to play soccer, and I think I can manage.”

I hurried out to the field, where all the players were sitting on the grass, waiting for instructions. Spotting Jihyun and Sohyun, I went over to them and they scooted over to make room.

 “Alright everyone!” The coach hollered. “Put yourselves into two teams, including both male and female, and when I blow the whistle, kick the ball. Simple enough?”

Immediately, the members of EXO and SNSD rushed to get paired with themselves. I felt a light tap on my shoulder when I was about to run to Jihyun and Sohyun and saw the deer faced boy again.

 “Come on, be in our team!”

 “But…”

 “Eunji! Just go, it looks like that team needs someone who can actually play! And I think there are already fourteen people on our team.” Sohyun shouted. I nodded and the deer faced boy dragged me to the other end of the field. The other members looked at me in distaste.

 “Luhan Oppa! What are you doing with her?” Yoona shouted.

 “I think she’ll be good on the team?” Luhan answered, uncertainly.

 “Please.” It was that Kai. I scowled. “It’s not like she can actually play soccer.”

 “You don’t know her-“

 “Will you just please stop?!” It was Hyoyeon, with an annoyed glare in her eyes. “I seriously don’t mean to be rude, but it’s not like she can be any better than a regular soccer player. She can’t be much worse either.” That seemed to shut everyone up. “Keep your in the game.” She said to me, and strode away. “C’mon people.” Snapping out of their daze, the rest of the members strode confidently, facing the other team.
