“Daehyun! Where are my socks?”
“How should I know? Ask mom.”
The thin walls between our new rooms let us have easy access to communicate, without actually having to move from our rooms. I was unpacking my clothes, while Daehyun was piling books onto his shelf.
“From what I know, I think I put them in your luggage.”
“Oh, really? I’ll check after I organize these books.”
It was today when we finally arrived at a small apartment in Seoul, which happened to be our new home. We left our home in America for this, just because of a business opportunity given to Dad. Boy, did I hate this place, but it wasn’t like I had a choice, anyways. We weren’t rich, but Mom insisted on enrolling Daehyun and I in Seoul High- only meant for the rich, as they say- even when we insisted on going to a smaller high school to at least save some money.
“Here, your socks.”
Daehyun threw me a pair.
“Thank you.”
He turned to leave, but I called him back.
“What is it, Eunji?”
“You have a friend who goes to Seoul high, right?”
“Yup. Actually, Zelo introduced me to his friends, so now, I have five friends who go there. Why?”
“Well, I… I’m just worried. Are the people there nice?”
Daehyun scrunched his brows together, which probably didn’t mean a good thing.
