Chapter 10:  A Dried Petal

A raindrop fell on Jihye's forehead; just one raindrop woke her up. She rubbed her tired eyes and slowly gained back her senses. *It’s raining indoors?* she wondered. *Where's kai?* she got up from the couch to search for him.

"Where are you?” Jihye yelled. But all she heard was her echo and nothing more. *No answer?* she thought. Jihye heard footsteps coming towards her. *Could it be an intruder?* she thought. It frightened Jihye so she looked for a weapon and saw the closest thing to her. A lamp.
She grabbed it and positioned herself. That someone was coming closer... closer... and closer.

Jihye gathered all her courage, closed her eyes and ran to that someone. She was about to hit that someone but a hand stopped her. She opened her eyes and saw that it was Kai.

"What are you doing?" Kai questioned then chuckled. Embarrassed, Jihye blushed, looked down at the ground and said

“I-I don't know...” Kai chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"Okay. Now put that lamp back where it belongs." he said. Jihye nodded and did what she was ordered to do and went to the table near the couch to place to lamp. Kai followed her but stopped when a drop of water fell on his head. *What is this?* he thought and looked up; another drop of water fell on his forehead. He rubbed it off

"The roof must be broken.” he mumbled.

"Well,  I guess that needs to be fixed before something bad happens here." Kai said and while scanning the ceiling. Jihye nodded.
"What do we do to fix it, master?" she asked with a chuckle. Kai laughed and slung his arm around Jihye's shoulder.

"Me? Master? Then so be it. Well, we will need a ladder, a hammer, wood, about 5 nail I guess... and your lovely help,
My lady." Kai acted along with a smirk.

"Right away master!" she replied. Jihye went to work, she got the materials as soon as possible and came back fast.

"I’m done!" Jihye said while catching her breath. Kai smiled and ruffled her hair.

"Good job" he beamed. She placed the materials on a table, Kai went up the ladder and started to fix the ceiling.

“You can just wait and sit there. I’ll do the rest.” he said and flashed her a wink. Jihye blushed but managed to flash him a smile.

"Okay, master!" and decided to go to the kitchen.

Kai wiped the sweat on his forehead and sighed in relief. *All done. Now where is she?* He thought and looked around. The moment Kai got down from
the ladder... A loud sound was heard from the kitchen. Kai run into the kitchen with his heart racing fast. His eyes widen when he saw Jihye on the floor. He went to her as fast as he could.

"Are you okay?" Kai asked with a frown.

"I’m fine. I just fell. I think my leg needs to rest." Jihye said and awkwardly laughed. Kai knew she was lying so he flashed her doubtful look.
