Normal POV

Sungmin sitting on the rocking chair in the nursery room, there is new clothes on his right hand. He smile brightly when he see his man-made clothes for his baby. He folded the clothes and rub his now large belly lovingly, “Chagi-ah… look… umma made this special for you, baby…” he smile wider when he feel a light kick from his unborn child, “I see that you are excited, huh?”

“Excited of what?” a pair of hand encircling behind him. Knowing who it was, Sungmin smile brightly and leaning his body on the hard chest, “Is our baby really happy, umma?”

“Ne appa…” Sungmin giggled slightly with their new nickname but then he feel Kyuhyun tighten his hold, lying his head on his shoulder and sighed loudly, “What happen, Kyu?”

Kyuhyun tighten his hold even more; make Sungmin flinch a little because of that, “It looks like I have to fight with my own child. He will be my competitor then”

Sungmin grip Kyuhyun hand tightly after hearing that, he never hear Kyuhyun saying something like that until this time, “Why?”

Kyuhyun smile slightly when he feel Sungmin body tense, he buried his face on the crock of Sungmin neck, “Because… when he born to this world… Minnie wouldn’t look only at me anymore…”

Sungmin can feel his body relaxed, ‘Jealous Kyu…’ he said to himself, smile plastered on his face, he hold Kyuhyun hand, tug it lightly, signaling for him to move. Knowing what his lover mean, Kyuhyun let go of him and sit in front of him, “It’s not like I would just forget about you, Kyu… because he is our baby… me and your baby… the prove of our love… he will have your attention too and you wouldn’t look only at me anymore because we will have him… our baby… so, don’t be jealous Kyu… big baby…” Sungmin pinch Kyuhyun cheek and ruffled his hair.

Kyuhyun hold Sungmin hand when he was about to pinch him once again, “Ne Sungmin-umma…” he stand up and pull Sungmin carefully from his seat, “Now it’s time for us to see Dr. Park... you and our baby need to get check-up”

“Did I have too?” Sungmin ask with a pout on his lips. “Why should I go to the hospital again and again? There’s nothing wrong with me and our baby health. Kyu~~ did we really need to go?”

“Minnie-ah…” Kyuhyun said softly, “It’s for your and our baby sake… we don’t want anything happen to our baby, right?”

Sungmin giggle after he hear Kyuhyun answer, while Kyuhyun was just looking at him confusedly. Seeing the confused look on his husband face, Sungmin place his hand on his belly and caress it lovingly, “It looks like you will have a very protective appa, chagi-ah… but it mean that he really love us… we are very lucky, huh?”

“So you are just teasing me, Minnie?” Sungmin look up and smile brightly. Kyuhyun sighed before kneel in front of Sungmin, he place his hand on Sungmin belly and caress it, “You know that appa is very protective toward the two of you now, right? So… you have to born healthily, understand?” he kiss Sungmin belly before he got up, he pull Sungmin closer to himself and holding him on his waist, “So… ready to meet Dr. Park?”

“Eung…”

“How are you, Sungmin-ssi?” Doctor Park said as soon as the couple take a seat in front of him.

“I’m fine doctor…”

“How are you feeling? It still 2 months to go until the baby is born”

“I can’t wait until my baby is born, doctor… I really want to see him so much…”

“Let’s take a look of what he is doing now, shall we?” Sungmin nodded his head, the couple went to the examination table, Kyuhyun help Sungmin to lie on the bed then standing beside him, waiting for doctor Park to come. Minutes later, doctor Park come, and start to check on Sungmin condition. After he done, he prepare the ultrasound machine. “This gonna be cold for a while” he said while smearing some gel to Sungmin belly and place some machine to it. a blur of black and white could be seen on the monitor, Sungmin tighten his hold on Kyuhyun hand, a wide smile could be seen on his handsome face, “This is the head” doctor Park circling on some area in the monitor, “This is the legs and arms” he doing the same thing but then he stop and his eyebrows knitting together.

“Is there something wrong?” Kyuhyun asked worriedly, he look at the monitor then back to doctor Park who was moving the machine in Sungmin belly but the doctor seems to be busy inspecting something. Kyuhyun look at Sungmin when he feel Sungmin tighten his hold on his hand, “Don’t worry, ne?” he smile, try to reassuring his lover even though he was so worried. “Doctor Park, what happened?” he try again when he see that the doctor was finished.

“It’s nothing to worried about, Kyuhyun-ssi, Sungmin-ssi… I’m sorry about earlier but it really nothing. I thought I see another leg earlier but it seems that I was wrong” the doctor apologized, “Well… your baby is really healthy. He grow healthily… there’s nothing for you to worried about” he look at the both of them reassuringly, “Would you want to know what the baby is?”

Sungmin look at Kyuhyun and Kyuhyun look back at Sungmin. “No…” Sungmin said on their behalf, “I want it to be surprised for both of us” he look at Kyuhyun who just smile back at him.

“Okay then…” the doctor ended his explanation with a smile, he then sweep the gel from Sungmin belly and go to his room, leaving Kyuhyun to help Sungmin with his clothes.

After everything was done, the couple go back to the doctor room, where Doctor Park was already waiting for them, they take a seat in front of him, “As I said earlier, your baby condition is healthy so as Sungmin-ssi condition. But even though everything was really good, you still have to take care of yourself, Sungmin-ssi… you are the only one who understand your own condition. And Kyuhyun-ssi… make sure that he get a god rest”

“I will, doctor”

Next day

“Minnie~ here is your juice” Kyuhyun walk out of the house, approaching his wife who was sitting on the bench in their house yard, enjoying the morning sunlight.

Sungmin look at Kyuhyun with a bright smile on his face before taking the glass of juice and drink it, “Thank you Kyunie~~ ah… it really nice~” he put the glass on the table and move closer to his husband, leaning his head on his board chest, “Kyunie… I’m happy… in another 2 months we will have a little baby with us…” he let out a giggle when he imagine that, “I really couldn’t wait for that”

“Ne Minnie-baby… I couldn’t wait too…” he lean his head close to Sungmin and kiss his forehead lovingly, “But I don’t know if I will be a good father or not”

Hearing that, Sungmin pull away and look at Kyuhyun in the eyes, pout could be seen on his adorable face, “Kyunie will be a good father. I believe it! Kyunie always take care of us… Kyunie always very protective toward us… Kyunie is a good father for our baby” he said in determination on his eyes, which make Kyuhyun to chuckle seeing the serious look on his face.

“Ne, Sungmin-umma… you are a good mother too” Sungmin laughed and lean his body to his husband’s hugging him close to his body.

There was a car that park a few meters away from their house, the driver look at the couple in jealous. She grip the steer wheel tightly, her teeth clench tightly. “If I couldn’t have him… you couldn’t have him too, Lee Sungmin… I’ll make sure that you wouldn’t survive this time… I’ll make sure that I’ll break you”

A few weeks later

“Kyunie~~ come on~~” Sungmin wave at Kyuhyun who was still locking their car. Today, they are going to the mall to find a crib for their baby.

“Wait, Minnie… don’t be so rushed… the crib wouldn’t go anywhere” Kyuhyun said calmly, approaching his wife who was standing on the other side of the car.

“But Kyunie~~ I can’t wait~~ I want to buy crib for our baby… but~~ I’m confused~~ should I buy a beautiful one…? Or a cute one? Or a comfortable one …?” Kyuhyun couldn’t help but smile when he see his wife adorable face, he peck Sungmin on his cheek making Sungmin to look at him confusedly, “Kyu?”

“Let’s just go there and find the crib that you want, hm?” Sungmin nodded his head and they headed to the baby store.

Once they got there, they quickly go to the crib area. Sungmin was confused at first, what one should he buy because a lot of crib caught his attention. Kyuhyun could only shake his head when he see his wife choosing one crib then change to another. And finally, after takes forever, he choose the simple one. A wooden crib with baby blue bedding that have a teddy bear in it.

While waiting for the crib to be prepared, they look around the store. And once again, Sungmin was caught up with some baby toys and clothes, and Kyuhyun couldn’t say no when his wife begging for him to buy them too.

They push the trolley out of the baby store after they done shopping. Kyuhyun was busy putting the things on the trunk when someone shouting for them, “Sir, I think you forget something!!” they look at the bag on the man’s hand, it was one of the baby toy they bought before.

“I’ll get it”

“No! I’ll get it, ne Kyunie…?”

“But Minnie... doctor said––“

“It just some toys Kyunie~ it wouldn’t be that heavy~~ beside… I want to help you… ne…?” Sungmin look at Kyuhyun pleadingly, he put the best puppy eyes that he have and of course… it made Kyuhyun sigh hard before nodding his head, “Thank you” he pecked Kyuhyun lips and cross the road.

Kyuhyun put the last things on the trunk and go to the front of the car, he look at his wife who was bowing at the man. Sungmin smile wider when he see him before slowly cross the road. It was like a slow motion for Kyuhyun, his wife was crossing the road cheerfully when a car running with a full speed towards him. He look at Sungmin then at the car, hoping that the driver would stop but it didn’t, “Minnie!! Watch out!!!” he shouted, running with all his might towards him. He pushed Sungmin out of the road and hug him tight when he lost his balance.

Kyuhyun open his eyes and look at his side. Sungmin eyes closed tight and his face was contorted in pain, “Minnie…” he called softly, lying him down in more comfortable position, “Minnie… answer me…” he hold Sungmin hand tightly.

“Kyu… ngh… nie…” he open his eyes slowly, let out a loud gasp when he feel pain crashing him.

“Someone!! Please call an ambulance!!!” Kyuhyun shouted, look around the people who was surrounding them. Some of the people busy with their phone, calling the ambulance. “Minnie…” Kyuhyun caress his wife cheeks, “Mi––” Kyuhyun gasp when his eyes landed on the floor where Sungmin lay, there was a pool of blood seeping from Sungmin’s pants. His heart beating faster than normal, tears b on his eyes, and he can feel his body temperature dropped a few degrees, “Call an ambulance!!! Hurry!!!”

“Kyunie…ngh… it’s okay… I’m…ngh… okay…” Sungmin pant hard but Kyuhyun could see his smile plastered on his face, reassuring him.

‘Minnie-ah… how could you…? How could you do this…? Please God… don’t take him away from me…’ the sound of sirens vibrated on the area, Kyuhyun hold Sungmin hands tighter, the other hand caressing his cheeks, “Hang on… the ambulance come Minnie-ah…”

Sungmin try his best to smile but yet another great pain crash him, he hold Kyuhyun hand tightly when he feel the unbearable pain crash him again and again, “Kyu… take care… ngh… the baby…” Kyuhyun could feel Sungmin hand loosened before he closed his eyes.

“Minnie…” he call him softly, “Sungmin… please…” Kyuhyun couldn’t help but beg, he hold Sungmin hand tightly and bring it to his chest, “SUNGMIN!!!”

Three pair of steps running through the hallway in Seoul Hospital. The three of them running to the emergency room, place that told where the two of their family is. The man look trying hard to calm his wife who was trying so hard to stop the tears beside him and their daughter was behind them, her face fill with fear, anxiety and sadness.

This was like déjàvu for them, a few months back they can feel the same feeling as this. When they reach the emergency room, they can see Kyuhyun sit on the floor next to the emergency door. His knees brought up to his chest, buried his face in it. “Kyu…” his mother quickly run to his side, hugging his frail son on her arms, “What happened?” Kyuhyun just buried his face deeper on his knees, “Cho Kyuhyun… look at umma…” she lift his face and hold it, making him to look at her, “Tell umma what had happened”

“I couldn’t protect him, umma… I couldn’t protect him…” he buried his face on her shoulder, his body trembling as tears fallen freely from his eyes.

Feeling his son distress, she hug him tightly, trying to give him some comfort, “Shh… it’s alright… everything will be okay… Sungmin will be alright… your baby will be alright… shh… don’t cry, Kyu… you have to be strong… for them…”

Kyuhyun try to calm himself but everytime he close his eyes and try so hard to keep calm, Sungmin weak smile would appear in front of his eyes and his last word would rang in his ear and everytime he hear that, he couldn’t hold his tears anymore. It was as if Sungmin was saying goodbye…

“Mr. Cho…” Kyuhyun pull away from his mother hug, he look up and found 2 cops was standing not too far from him, “Mr. Cho… I got a report about the accident from the shopkeeper. We already asked the other witness about the accident but we still have to hear what really happened earlier from your point of view, because you are one of the witnesses of this accident”

Kyuhyun nodded his head and wipe the tears away from his face, he get up from the floor and sit on the chair, one of the police readied himself to write everything. Kyuhyun close his eyes tightly, his hand bounded together before telling the police about what happened to his Sungmin.

“Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Cho” the police after the interrogation was end, they bow his body before excused themselves.

“Sir!” Kyuhyun shouted, make the police to stop on their tracks and turn back, looking at Kyuhyun who was looking at the emergency room door blankly, “Did you already found out who did this to my Sungmin?”

“Ne… we already got their police number… we already give it to the police station for the investigation. I hope we can found out about them soon”

Kyuhyun nodded his head, closing his eyes before open them slowly, “Thank you…” the police bow their body before leaving the hospital.

The Cho family sitting on the waiting room quietly, no one dare to break the silence. Anxiety filling their heart each minutes. They look at the emergency room door that was still closed, hoping that the doctor would come out soon and tell them that Sungmin and his baby is fine.

After a while, Kyuhyun get up from his seat, peeking through the door only to find that he couldn’t see anything. He lean his body on the wall, praying for his family safety.

Finally, after seems like forever, the emergency door opened, revealing the doctor who was still had a red spot on his operating clothes. “How are they? They are alright, right?” Kyuhyun ask him as soon as he see the doctor.

The doctor remove his operating cap weakly, looking at Kyuhyun on the eyes, “I’m sorry, Mr. Cho…”
