Eulogy

“I think eulogies are wasted on the dead. It’s the living who need to hear kind words spoken about them.." 

"I'm amazed by your knowledge, Taeyang-sshi" the nurse praised as she handed Yuri the bag.

"He’s not that smart," Yuri resisted the urge to audibly gag.

"She’s right. It’s just that most really good-looking people are stupid, so I exceed expectations," Taeyang commented.

"Right, it’s primarily his hotness," Yuri said.

"It can be sort of blinding," Taeyang added.

"It actually did blind his friend Mino," she chuckled.

"Terrible tragedy, that. But can I help my own deadly beauty?"

"You cannot."

"It’s my burden, this beautiful face."

"Not to mention your body," the nurse laughed.

"Seriously, don’t even get me started on my hot bod. You don’t want to see me , Jungin-sshi. Seeing me actually took this woman's breath away,” Taeyang said, nodding toward the oxygen tank. 

And that set the nurse into peals of laughters. 

Yes, it's finally Taeyang's discharge day.

"Aren't you tired? Get some rest."

Yuri set his bag down and plopped onto the bed, inhaling a deep breath.

"I wanted to say no," Taeyang smiled and sat on the corner of the bed, eyeing the figure that's lying on the bed. "But watching Kwon Yuri on my bed, inviting me to join her, it's pretty hard to reject."

With Yuri rolling her eyes and a fruity chuckle from Taeyang, he got into bed and they laid under the cover, Yuri on her side and Taeyang on his back, her head on his bony shoulder, his heat radiating through his polo shirt and into her skin, her feet tangled with his, her hand on his cheek. 

She inched forward slowly, until they were so close that she could only see his eyes and couldn't tell that he was actually sick. Naturally, they kissed for awhile before Yuri pulled away, fumbling with the CDs on his bedside table, picking Big Bang's Alive album and playing it on the player. She retreated back to her formal position, cushioning her head against his shoulder as the CD played. 

"You guys named yourselves after them isn't it," Yuri smirked as her finger tapped on the album over. "GD, TOP, DLITE, SEUNGRI, TAEYANG..."

"Well, I think we came out earlier than them. But oh well, we're popular in different fields," Taeyang had his eyes closed, her hair gently. "But if Ji was to further his composing career, he would definitely win over that GD. And if it wasn't for these damn cancer cells, I would totally trashed that TAEYANG on the dancefloor."

"Self-conceited much," Yuri wrinkled her nose and was all ready for another round of debate with this boyfriend of hers. 

But it was silence. 

"And you say you're not tired," Yuri let out a loving smile as she looked up, only to find Taeyang already sleeping soundly. 

She put the album back on the bedside table and the music continued to play at the background, with them falling asleep, a quantum entanglement of tubes and bodies.
