9TH THREAD
The Last ThreadIn fear, I ran with all my might as far away as I could.
I just wanted to get away from the school, the library, and definitely from that old lady.
Trying to understand what had just happened, I concluded that that old lady is definitely the evil entity that has been lurking around this village. There's no rational explanation behind it.
My body begins to tremble from this thought as I start to slow down. Ouch. Even if all this running is making me feel so exhausted, what's bothering me more are the deep scratch marks on my back, not to mention the painful stinging of the venom throughout my body.
At this point, I can feel the serum oozing deeper and deeper into my body.
I need to get back home as soon as I can.
As I walk down the dark road to home, I notice that there is barely any moonlight in the sky. It must be a crescent moon tonight. It's hard to tell, especially with all the trees above me.
What's that? It appears to be something glistening on the side of the road.
I walk towards it, and with no surprise at all, I realize that it is the brook that relaxes me. This is also where V had seen my relaxed self when he walked me home on that one rainy day.
Wasting no time, I dropped my stuff, and jumped into the chilly brook water to hopefully relieve the stinging sensation throughout my entire body while still fully-clothed in my school uniform.
The cold water really soothed my scratch marks. I can feel my back stinging even more from the pain as my blood, the venom, and water fused together in my body. My paralysis from earlier also seemed to be disappearing since I've dipped my body in water. After about 5 minutes of soaking in the water, I tilted my head backwards with my hair away from my face to relax my mind, instead of just relieving pain.
Oh I love how the silence of the night is able to sooth my very own soul from such a treacherous occurrence.
Out of curiosity, I wanted to know how deep my scratches on my back were from that old lady. I slowly stood up while in the water under the dark sky with little to no moonlight. As my hand slowly, yet shakily crept up to my back, I paused for a moment.
What if it will sting even more than it can?
I then proceeded with my initial action. With my hand under my blouse, I am able to feel blood from my wound slowly gushing out of my body. I can imagine it glistening under the dim moonlight of a deep crimson color. I closed my eyes as I slowly allowed my fingers to roam deeper into my back, I can most certainly say that she has not scratched me to my spine, but just enough to feel a film of my meat just barely covering my bones. I know for sure that my skin isn't there anymore. My eyes started watering from the stinging pain I felt from behind.
How was I able to endure this much pain?
When I removed my hand from my wounded back, my heart froze for a second with more tears streaming through my eyes with the realization that my whole hand was not able to fit through my spine, but into the right side of my back. My back stings even more now. I looked at my blood soaked hand with the combination of fear and pain running through my body. My body is now shaking from the cold water that engulfs my mind in a state of paranoia.
What should I do?
That was no scratch.
That woman practically dug out a part of my body.
"Darling where are you?!?!"
A speck of light can be seen from behind the trees swaying back and forth. That voice also sounds similar to my mother's voice as well...
That is my mother's wailing voice from afar!
"Umma! Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" My voice echoed as I felt my head growing lighter and lighter with more tears streaming from my eyes.
Am I even breathing anymore?
Can I breathe?
Within seconds, my mother arrives at the brook with a gasp, "What are you doing there and what exactly happened to you?!?!?!" As if on cue, more blood began to pou
