You didn’t know how you got here but you were lounging on a bench while Taekwoon was a little further down the path taking a call. You tilted your head on the back of the bench and stared up at the cloudy sky. The clouds were looking a little heavy but they were a light gray so you were sure you wouldn’t be drenched at the moment. You pulled your head up just as a jogger went by with a dog panting next to him. Across the park, you could see the playground already teeming with little kids in bright colors.

You rested your eyes on the familiar back of Taekwoon. He was faced away from you and you watched as the jogger eyed him suspiciously before continuing on his way. Taekwoon didn’t even notice the other man as he ran a hand through his hair and you turned away from him to continue your people watch.

It was rare for you to be away from home during the weekend as you usually used that time to be a couch potato and snack on your junk food. It was thanks to Taekwoon you were pulled away from your normal routine.

As the wedding party was wrapping up last night, he had pulled you from the crowd through the same doors you had used to escape from your grandma’s scary words. It was thanks to him you had conveniently disappeared from the party at the right time because when you came back after having said yes to hanging out with him and his friends the next day your sister charged at you with fire in her eyes.

She only muttered the word ‘home’ before marching off but you never got to hear from her afterwards because she and Hwangin had left to go straight to the airport for their short honeymoon. It was your mother who told you that the MC had gotten a new mic and people were waiting for you to give your speech but they couldn’t find you. Her eyes were twinkling as she looked between you and Taekwoon.

After the party was wrapped up, you only caught a glimpse of Taekwoon’s ride as people were drifting out of the hotel ballroom because he ushered you back through the door. That confused you and he only flashed a smile at you before bending down to whisper in your ear, “Tomorrow,” before squaring his shoulders and heading out the door.

Now it was tomorrow and he had picked you up from your house with a much less strained look on his face compared to yesterday as your parents both bid him good morning with your mother waving Mieun’s hand at him from the living room when you had opened the door. After the polite questions and not so polite warnings, you both left but you couldn’t help but stare at him as you made your way to the nearest bus stop.

He looked completely different as he was wearing the most casual clothes you’ve ever seen him in. Up until now you had mainly seen him in his school uniform and the suit he was wearing last night was only more formal. Now, you let your eyes take in the sight of him in his informal wear. You didn’t know what it was about his plain white long sleeved shirt and jeans that did something to you but it was taking an effort to keep your eyes away from him.

You hadn’t put much thought into your outfit as your mother wanted to play dress up with you today. You looked down at the dark green shirt that had a weird pattern on it and your jeans. It looked simple to you now, but your mother went on about the right color and cut of the shirt and jeans that you had to tune her out after a while or else you would have a headache. She demanded that you leave your hair down but you were going to leave it down anyways so you only nodded as she went about picking out shoes but you were firm about not wearing dressy shoes.

You pulled the zipper of your jacket up and stuffed your hands into your pockets as you lazily blinked. You were feeling tired as the party had ended at a later hour than you were used to. Keeping an eye on Taekwoon at the party had taken a toll on you but it was worth it. Your grandmother bit off more than she could chew with that older man you had seen her with because she couldn’t shake him for the rest of the party. That was a blessing for you and you could breathe easier as you and Taekwoon spent the majority of the dance time at a table in a secluded corner. Mieun had stayed with you for the rest of the night and only left your arms to say goodbye when her parents were leaving.

Taekwoon abruptly turned to you as he walked the short distance back and took the seat next to you. You only watched from the side as he gazed straight ahead and you did the same. You weren’t sure what you were supposed to do today with his friends as this was the first time you had spent time away from school with them other than N and Ravi. But you hadn’t been in the best of moods then and other than feeling a little tired, you were feeling the difference between now and then. And one of the reasons responsible for your good mood, probably the biggest reason, was next to you.

He stood up and looked down at you with his hand out. Your response was quickly becoming its own as he pulled you up from the bench as soon as he had a grip on your hand. You threaded your fingers with his as he directed you down the sidewalk and you both walked at a leisure pace.

The normal sound of a busy park surrounded you two and you didn’t feel the difference from walking down the hallways back at school. People darted around you on their own agendas with the same commotion as getting to class but the children and animals set the two apart.

When you had reached the vast, open space of the popular park you were at, Taekwoon tugged you to the side where there were bleachers situated. Once you sat down, he pulled his hand from you and wordlessly handed you his phone with a calculated expression on his face. You frowned at his random action and the intense stare he was giving you and secured your grip on the phone. You lightly pushed the button once to bring it to life and frowned when nothing happened. Still feeling his burning eyes, you held onto the button until it vibrated. You glared at him for his lack of information about leaving his phone off. He only shrugged his shoulders at you and you rolled your eyes at him where he could see. He nudged your shoulder with his hand and you ignored it to look down at his phone that was now fully on. Your fingers clenched tighter onto the phone as you registered the background picture.

It was you and him.

You couldn’t help but scoff at him and he frowned at you. He swung his leg around the bench and pulled you closer to him until some of you weight was leaning into him. You went along willingly as you quickly opened his messenger and sent a text to his friends but hiding what you were texting.  He obliviously rested his head onto your shoulder and you fumbled the spelling.

You were very distracted especially when he was breathing on the sensitive spot on your neck so you leaned away from him until his head dropped now that he had nothing to prop it up. He let out a frustrated sigh as you finished typing the message before you sent it off and turned off the screen. You handed his phone back and he slipped it into his jacket pocket without looking at it. You did your best not to let out the smile you were trying to hide break out as you recalled the message you just typed out.

Seconds later, his phone was vibrating like crazy.

He frowned and pulled a fraction away from you and took out his phone again. Just as it finally stopped vibrating it would begin again. You watched as the confused look morphed into one of shock and he clamped his mouth closed as he looked up from the still vibrating phone to glare at you. You only reached up to run your hand through his hair with your back still to his front.

“Leo hyung! Mikyung noona!”

You sighed before sitting up properly after having been comfortably leaning on Taekwoon.

“Aigoo I’m goint to get a cavity!” Ken was smiling brightly as he jogged over with an equally happy Hyuk with him.

“We got your text hyung,” Hyuk shoved his phone into Taekwoon’s face. The older boy swiped it away with a glare.

“It’s been a while since you last paid for lunch Leo hyung,” Ken leaped onto the lowest bleacher before banging his way to a seat behind Taekwoon.

“I want ice cream hyung. Can you buy some for me? I forgot my wallet.” Hyuk took the spot on the other side of Taekwoon. He only got a scowl from him while you were still getting a frosty glare.

Ken leaned down until his face was in the space between you and Taekwoon, “I see why you were in a good mood hyung,” he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively at you. He got a bop on the head.

You only smiled at both of the boys.

“See, at least Mikyung noona is in a good mood. Maknaes fighting!” Hyuk leaned across Taekwoon to hold a hand out to you which you quickly slapped just as Taekwoon shoved Hyuk’s arm away from him. “Oww hyung,” he pouted but that expression disappeared as he waved his hand, “Over here Hongbin hyung!”

“I want meat!” Ravi shouted from his spot next to Hongbin as they jogged over.

“I want to eat something cold for lunch,” Hongbin added.

“What do you mean something cold?” Ken scoffed.

“That’s what I said!” Ravi threw his arms in the air.

“The weather is perfect for some cold noodles,” Hongbin was frowning now.

Hyuk grinned at Taekwoon, “I want whatever Leo hyung wants.”

“Quit up to our payer Hyukie,” Hongbin pushed him away and took his seat, “Leo hyung doesn’t like you.”

“Speak for yourself Hongbinnie,” Ravi walked up to you and you scooted away from your spot next to Taekwoon. Ravi smiled and winked at you before he took your spot and immediately leaned into Taekwoon. Over his head, Taekwoon continued to glare at you as Ken wound his arms around the trapped boy’s shoulders.

“Leo hyung,” one whined.

“Leave my hyung alone,” another snapped.

A hit was made, “You leave him alone.”

“Release my hyung you snake!”

“Be quiet, he doesn’t like any of you.”

“Except me.”

“Keep dreaming.”

“Leo hyung!” they all yelled at him at the same time.

You only smiled from your place a safe distance away from them with your eyes locked on the amusing sight. All of a sudden, hands were covering your eyes. “Guess who.” You recognized the voice and immediately leaned away while pinching the hands. “Ouch!”

“Leave Mikyungie alone Minhyuk-ah.” N finally joined you guys.

Annoying Boy rubbed his hands, “Nice seeing you too Choi Mikyung.”

You looked over to the show you were interrupted from watching and now they were taking advantage of their holdings on Taekwoon.

“It’s okay hyung.”

“Minhyuk hyung is just playing around.”

You slid back across to them and kept your eyes on Taekwoon. You rolled your eyes at him and his glare as Ravi let you reclaim your spot. Taekwoon was glaring at Minhyuk who only raised his eyebrow at him. N watched the exchange between the two of them and led Minhyuk away but he was frowning at Minhyuk. As an afterthought, he shouted at Taekwoon, “Leo-ya I want a stew for lunch!”

“Stew?”

“No! No stew!”

N turned around to glare at the person who dared to oppose him. “The weather is cold so it would be better to eat something hot Hongbin-ah!”

“You and your weird tastes,” Ken added with a shake of his head at Hongbin whose frown was only getting deeper.

“The weather isn’t cold today so we should take advantage of it and eat something to compliment it.”

“Meat can be hot so let’s go eat meat!” Ravi shouted.

“How about pancakes?” Eunkwang suggested.

You did a double take when he spoke because you hadn’t noticed him.

“No. No pancakes either.”

Taekwoon was rubbing his forehead and Ken remained behind him giving him a back hug. He stuck his tongue out at you while snuggling into Taekwoon’s back and your eyes narrowed at him.

An unfamiliar voice suggested, “Let’s just play a game and whoever wins can choose what to eat for lunch.”

You looked away from Ken and turned to look at the newcomer. He was smiling pleasantly.

“It’s Suho hyung!”

“Suho hyung can pay for lunch for us too!”

“He’s our hyung, get your own,” one of the two other boys walked up.

“Are you ready for a rematch?” Ken called over Taekwoon’s head and you went back to glaring at him while Taekwoon’s attention was directed at the three boys who joined the group. Taekwoon untangled Ken’s arms and he moved right next to you seconds after the other boys joined the group.

This was a sign you were becoming familiar with and there
