CHAPTER THIRTEEN; SURPRISE

Jieun had entrusted the hard drive, leaving it in the hand of her now most reliable hacker, Do Kyungsoo. If he could breach into Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's confidential information without getting caught, he definitely could crack the password to the mysterious whatever-they-will-find-out-about-later. Jieun had yet to inform her higher-ups about the current situation, but she had made a quick call and told Himchan about the external hard drive. She had promised him to.

"Kris—I really was going to tell you about Rina." Jieun finally broke the silence as she glanced at Kris who was sitting in the driver seat. He had insisted on driving even though Jieun was sure that he didn't have a clue of where they were heading to. The ride had been a little too quiet; the only noise that they had heard in the car for the past ten minutes was the woman's voice from the navigation system.

He calmly breathed. "I know." He had said. He still hadn't gathered out what to say to her. He didn't even know if he should still be angry at her, for keeping Rina out of his life. Although for most parts, he had to admit that she didn't exactly do anything wrong. She was protecting herself. From him.

 
Jieun found Grandma Joo sitting amongst Seoul Sunshine Orphanage House volunteer workers; she smiled at the older woman and greeted the rest of the staffs. Little that she only found out, Grandma Joo was also a volunteer worker at that exact orphanage house, once.

Looking around, she then spotted her daughter surrounded by another three little girls and a little boy. They were playing with the doll house that Jieun had brought from their apartment - it was Rina's most favorite thing. She could play with it for hours.

As soon as Rina saw Jieun, her face lighted up along with her usual toothy smile and ran towards her mother.

Jieun brought Rina to a quieter spot and as she crouched down, she placed the little girl on her lap and wrapped her arms around the girl's side. "Rina yah." She began. "Remember when I told you that I'd find your appa?"

Rina nodded her head.

"Well," Jieun tilted her head to have a better look at her daughter's face. "He's outside waiting for you. Do you want to see him?" Jieun smiled at Rina, who was automatically beaming and nodding her head excitedly.

"Alright boys, we're looking for a small black rectangle external hard drive." Yongguk gravelly voiced out. His deep and intense contralto voice always meant business. He had told Rome that he would get the hard drive. Letting Mr Black down was never in his plan. "It's somewhere in this car." He motioned his head towards the white car in front of him.

Like a victim to a bunch of predators, Kris' Lexus LFA was now surrounded by the Black Eagle members. All six of them (and Hyomin on the side line) were ready to ambush the fast car.

Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, Jongup and Zelo took turn as they searched the interior of the car, rummaging their hands underneath the seats and as they searched for a possible hidden little place within the center console.

Almost half an hour later, they looked at each other—scared of the consequences that Yongguk might performed as they all came out with nothing.

Yongguk huffed his breath in rage while he stared at the non-existence distance within his sight. "That's it. Play time's up." He muttered.

After ten minutes of waiting outside the orphanage house, Kris finally laid his sight on Jieun again. And his eyes then trailed to the little girl that was holding onto Jieun's hand.

Song Rina, her tiny cheerful voice had told him. He had met her few weeks ago and he could still remember her cute little face and voice as if it was only yesterday. How was I so clueless that you were mine? He couldn't help thinking.

Jieun looked at Kris with that concerned look she always had on her face, when she tried to soothe him. She had been waiting for this very moment. It did occur in her mind earlier that she might won't be able to see it seeing how angry he was then, but she glad it didn’t take him long to calm down.

As both Jieun and Rina were getting closer, Kris' lips inwardly formed a smile by itself. He squatted down to level himself with the small girl.

"Annyeong, Song Rina." He greeted his daughter with a smile that was still plastered on his face.

Rina smiled back at him. "Annyeong haseyo.” She
