Kwon Junho is a big brother now

 

Present - Three years later

 

“Yes, mommy. I’m in a month pregnant. We just got back from the hospital. Junho and his appa are taking their nap in his room. Both of them are really worn out today. We picked him up from his school and after that we straightly went to see the doctor,” Yoona said to her mother through the phone.

 

“Congratulations, Yoong! Aigoo.. It’s been three months since the last time I visited your family. How’s Junho in school?,” Yoona’s mother asked.

 

“He behaves well and he got number one in his class recently. And, he really loves playing with his piano which Yul bought for his fourth birthday, mommy,” Yoona said smilingly, feeling proud of his son’s little achievement.

 

“I’m sure he will become like his appa when he grow up later,” her mother replied.

 

“We really don’t mind on what he wants to become in the future, mommy. As long as he could find a decent job, it’s fine for us,” Yoona said.

 

“He can inherit my supermarket if he want to. Who else should inherit my property if it’s not my daughter and my grandchildren, right?,” her mother suggested. After three years, her mother’s shop business turned out well and has been expanded into a supermarket.

 

“Aigoo.. You don’t have to do that, mommy. You have Seulong oppa who can take over your business. I think he’s the one who qualified to inherit your business because he often helped you during his semester break,” Yoona replied. Im Seulong is Yoona’s cousin from his father’s side.

 

“Hmm.. yeah, I will think about it later. But right now, you need to take care of your health, arasso? Can’t wait for another eight months from now. I’m going to be a grandma for two grandchildren. How wonderful my life could be?,” Yoona’s mother said excitedly, causing her daughter chuckled.

 

“Yes, mommy. I hope this time it’s a baby girl. I really want a daughter because I have already had a son. I can be her best friend and doll her up. Yul and Junho always left me out, doing their activities together,” she said while pouting. Yoona’s mother chuckled through the phone.

 

“Of course they’re close because it’s natural, though. A son usually will become close with his father, while a daughter with her mother. I hope so. It’s a bless if you could have children in pair. But, don’t be despair if it’s not meant to be. A child is a gift from God, and He must have a reason to bestow you with a child no matter what their gender are,” her mother said encouragingly.

 

“Yeah, you’re right, mommy. Alright, I need to wake them up. I will talk to you later. Take care of your health too, arasso? Don’t work too hard. Love you, mommy,” Yoona replied.

 

“Will do, sweetie. Send my regards to Yul and hug and kisses to Junho. Love you too, sweetie,” her mother said as the call ended.

“Eomma, can I not eat this broccoli? I don’t like it's taste,” Junho asked his mother. The Kwon family were in a middle of having their dinner at their home sweet home.

 

“Junho ah. How are you going to take care of your little brother or sister if you’re not starting to eat healthy food, sweetie? This broccoli contained lots of vitamins that can make you stronger to become a big brother, you know,” Yoona said to her son. Junho pouted cutely, causing his father giggled silently.

 

“Junho ah. You told appa last time that you want to become a soccer player. You know, a soccer player eats broccoli as their source of energy. That’s why they can run faster and score more goals,” Yuri said as he tried to persuade his son. Soccer is the current favorite sport of Yuri and his son.

 

“Chincha, appa?,” Junho asked his father.

 

“Yes, sweetheart. Now, eat your vege, so that you can beat appa when we play soccer and score more goals next time, okay?”, he replied.

 

“Okay!,” he exclaimed excitedly while starting to eat the green vegetables.

 

“You beat me this time, honey,” Yoona said while stuck her tongue out at her husband.

 

“Jagi, don’t do that in front of our son. It’s not appropriate, you know,” Yuri playfully scold his wife.

 

“Aishh..,” Yoona glared at him while munching her food. Yuri just chuckled on her childish act.

 

“Sweetie, go wash up with your appa after you finished eating your dinner, okay?,” Yoona said while caressing his son’s hair.

 

“Dae, eomma,” Junho replied obediently.

 

“Anyway, honey, just to inform you that I called mommy this afternoon after we came back from hospital. I informed her about my pregnancy,” Yoona said.

 

“Chincha? What did she say?,” Yuri asked.

 

“She was so happy to know that she will have another grandchild. She even wanted to inherit her property to our children when they grow up. I told her it’s not necessary. We wouldn't know on what they want to become when they grow up later. Oh, she send her regards to you,” Yoona replied.

 

“That’s very generous of her. Yeah, you’re right, jagi. We wouldn’t know about it, but I have a small hope that Junho will inherit my business. I can see he has an interest in music. But, again, like I have told you before, I really don’t mind about what our children wanted to become in the future. As long as it's decent, then I’m okay with it,” he said.

 

“I want him to focus on his academic first, honey. So far he has shown us his excellent achievement in school although he was just five years old. He told me Prince Kim got number two in his class, and he cried non-stop because he’s afraid his mother will scold him. You know how strict Tiffany unnie can be,” Yoona replied as she giggled.

 

“Aigoo.. I don’t think Tiffany is that strict, though. Maybe because of her mood swings (Tiffany was in her seven months of her pregnancy). They are just small kids, though. We can’t pressure them because their brains are still in development process. It’s okay, maybe I can ask Taeyeon to talk to her,” he said.

 

“Why don’t we visit them this weekend? Junho can play with Prince Kim,” Yoona suggested.

 

“Hmm.. great idea, jagi. Besides, I can discuss about my new project with Taeng. I’m planning to engage his company on Lee Hi ssi new album concept,” he replied.

 

“If that's the case, why don’t we invite them to our house? We can invite Sica unnie and Sooyoung too for our small gathering. Their twins and baby Danish can play together with Junho,” Yoona suggested.

 

“You’re right, jagi. That’s a good idea. It’s been a long time since the last time we gathered together. Daniel and Daniella can watch over the small kids while the parents having their chatting (SooSica twins were already seven years old). I will call them later,” he replied while glancing at his son. Junho was playing with his food, and Yuri just shook his head.

 

“Junho ah. Stop playing with your food. Just tell us if you don’t want to eat anymore, arasso? Appa and eomma will not scold you,” Yuri said softly to his son.

 

“Mianhae, appa, eomma. Junho don’t want to eat anymore,” he said while lowering his head.

 

“Gwenchana. Let’s wash your hands, and then can we go upstair to wash up,” he replied and immediately got up from his seat. Junho just followed suit and since the sink is a bit higher, Yuri helped his son by lifting his body and bring him closer to the sink, and the little boy started to wash his hands.

 

“Gomawo, appa,” Junho thanked his father.

 

“You’re welcome, baby. Let’s go wash up now. Kaja!,” Yuri said as he carried his son into his arms, and walking fast, causing the little boy giggled.

Weekend, at YoonYul’s residence

 

“Junho ah, can I play your piano?,” Prince Harry Leo Kim asked his little buddy. Taeyeon added his son’s name ‘Harry’ (Tiffany gave his English name as ‘Prince Leo’ as she was born in L.A.) since he’s a Harry Potter die-hard fans. LoL!

 

“Sure you can, Prince. Want me to teach you how to play?,” he replied. Prince Kim nodded, and both boys sat next to each other on the stool as Junho started to teach his best friend on which key he should press first.

 

“Mommyy.. Danish eat too much chocolate!,” Daniella complained about her two years old little brother who was munching the sweet food in front of her mother. The toddler nonchalantly walking past his sister and started running around the playroom. Meanwhile, Daniel was in his own world, sitting at the corner of the room playing games on his father’s iPad.

 

“Oh, Lord! These kids! Daniel Choi! Can you watch over your little brother? What mommy and daddy told you about playing games on your daddy’s iPad?,” Jessica scolded while glaring at her elder son. The seven year old boy immediately stopped playing games, and handed the iPad to his mother.

 

“Sorry, mommy,” he apologized. He then chasing his little brother who was busy touring around the playroom, and after he successfully caught the toddler, he carried him into his arms and brought him to his sister. Daniella started to clean the little boy’s mouth and hands with wet tissue.

 

“Wow! I thought I was the strict mother among all of you. But you’re the strictest and the scariest, Jessi,” Tiffany said as she chuckled. Jessica then took her seat next to her best friend.

 

“Wait till your children grow up like them. You will become a Tarzan soon like me,” she replied.

 

“Don’t scold them too much, unnies. It’s not good for their brain development, and also for your health though,” Yoona said while pouring the orange juice into their glasses.

 

“I’m not like that all the time, Yoong. Sometimes when you lost your patience because of their inappropriate act, you will unconsciously do like what I did just now, mothers. They need to be scolded once a while. They won’t listen to us sometimes,” Jessica replied.

 

“I think all mothers in the world are a bit strict on their children compared to fathers. Taeyeon likes to pamper Prince too much. He often followed on whatever his son’s wanted. When it comes to me, I’m not going to be lenient. Kids need to be taught on what they should and shouldn’t do or have.

 

“Chincha? I wonder when your baby girl will born, you will treat her the same as Prince or otherwise. I bet you will pamper her with all pink stuffs she will like,” Jessica said teasingly, causing Yoona and her laughed.

 

“Well, that was an exemption, though. She will inherit all my pink stuffs someday. Who else, right? I don’t think Prince and Taeyeon will do,” Tiffany said nonchalant, causing her two other friends burst out laughing.

 

“I wonder what makes them laughing happily like that? Are they talking bad about us behind our back?,” Sooyoung said while squinting his eye at all mothers who were sitting at the kitchen while busy preparing lunch for their gathering today. They fathers were having their discussions at the living room.

 

“Let them be, Soo. It’s not like they can having this kind of opportunity all the time. Let them have their ladies time,” Taeyeon replied.

 

“Yeah, you are right, Taeng. You should give Sica some time to let chill a bit. She probably got stressed in taking care of your children and her work,” Yuri seconded his friend’s opinion.

 

“I have told her many times to quit her job, and let her share partners handled their clinics, but she refused to do so. She said that’s the only way for her to release her stress. I know, the more they grow up, the more we get headaches. That’s why I’m not really strict on my children. I just let them do what they want to do, but I still monitor on them,” Sooyoung said.

 

“Like giving Daniel playing games on your iPad?,” Taeyeon stated.

 

“Yup, but I have set up the time limit for him and Daniella to use it. But, not for Danish because he’s still too young to use iPad,” he replied.

 

“Wow! Here comes the most experienced father among us three. I should learn from you, bro!,” Yuri said. “But, Yoong always scolded me whenever I bought something for Junho though although it’s not that often. I think she didn’t want me to pamper my son too much,” he continued.

 

“That’s because you always bought something related to Mickey Mouse. I just don’t get it, why are you so obsessed with that animal creature, though?,” Taeyeon said, causing Sooyoung chuckled.

 

“Say the one who named his son after Harry Potter. Yah! That’s my favorite cartoon character since I was a child! I knew you two must have one, am I right?,” Yuri exclaimed.

 

“Yeah, but the obsession stopped during our child time, not being carried away by it until we became a grown up man like you, though,” Sooyoung said. Yuri playfully showed his fist at Sooyoung, and the two guys just laughed at him.

 

“DING! DONG!”

 

“Let me get the door first,” Yuri said as he excused himself and walked towards the door. Right after he opened the door, suddenly a cute toddler standing at the doorstep, staring at Yuri with her eyes blinked once a while, followed by her midget father who was standing behind her, grinning widely.

 

“Aigoo.. Who’s this little cutie here?,” Yuri said while squatted down and facing the toddler with a pink pacifier in . The toddler walked closer and patted on Yuri’s face, causing the latter chuckled. He picked her up, and carried the toddler into his arm.

 

“Kim Juhyeon, it’s been a long time since you’re not visiting samchon (uncle) and imo (auntie) here. How are you sweetie?,” Yuri asked the toddler. She just blinked her eyes, and caressing Yuri’s face.

 

“Juhyeon said sorry to her samchon and imo. Juhyeon’s parents were busy these days,” the midget father, Kim Hyoyeon answered on behalf of the toddler.

 

“Ah, right! Since your father has already opened his academy branch overseas, he became so busy until he forgot to visit us, right, Juhyeon?,” Yuri sarcastically said, causing Hyoyeon laughed.

 

“Yah! I didn’t mean it, though!,” he exclaimed, still laughing. Not long after, Seohyun appeared from behind, carrying a tray of their favorite sandwiches which the YoonYul couple ordered from her cafe few days ago.

 

“Where’s your staff?,” Yuri asked her. Hyoyeon helped his wife as he took the tray and carried it to the kitchen

 

“They’re busy working at the cafe, oppa. Besides, it’s only one tray, so I can carry it alone. Where’s unnie anyway?,” Seohyun asked the moment she entered the house.

 

“The ladies at the kitchen, busy preparing the food for lunch. Just go there. I will take Juhyeon to the living room,” Yuri replied.

 

“Arasso. Juhyeon ah, stay with appa and samchon, arasso?,” Seohyun said to her little daughter. The one and a half year old toddler stunned, and she suddenly cried.

 

“Aigoo.. She only wants to be with her mother though,” Yuri said while patted gently on baby Juhyeon’s back as he tried to soothe her, but no avail.

 

“It’s okay, oppa. Just give her to Hyoyeon. He knew how to make his daughter stop from crying,” Seohyun replied.

 

“Alright. Juhyeon ah, let’s get to your appa, okay?,” Yuri said while carrying the wailing little Juhyeon to the living room.

 

“Aigoo.. What your samchon have done with you, sweetheart?,” Hyoyeon took his daughter from Yuri’s arms, and quickly swaying his body left and right while patting on his little daughter’s back as he tried to soothe her.

 

“Ya! I did nothing, though. She cried the moment she saw her mother,” Yuri exclaimed. Hyoyeon just chuckled as he was just teasing him.

 

“Mind him, Hyo. He’s a bit sensitive ever since Yoong pregnant with their second child. Probably you will get a daughter soon, Yul,” Sooyoung said playfully.

 

“Well, if it’s true then me and Yoong would be more than glad. We are really expecting a daughter this time. But, if not, then we are okay with it,” Yuri replied as he smiled dreamily. He’s already fond of little Juhyeon.

 

“We will pray for you to get a daughter this time. Don’t worry,” Taeyeon said truthfully.

 

“Thanks, guys. Alright, shall we prepare the table at the backyard? I think they are already half-way preparing the food,” Yuri replied.

 

“Kaja!,” Sooyoung said as he got up and all fathers including little Juhyeon followed Yuri to the backyard.

All families were really enjoyed their gathering on that afternoon, including their kids. All parents could breath in relief since their kids were well behaved while playing at the backyard. The twins, as have been instructed by their parents as the older kids did their best in monitoring the younger kids and playing together with them. Little Juhyeon eventually could mingle with other kids, and she seemed really enjoying her time there.

 

The time flies so fast, and it’s about the time for them to be parted. The YoonYul couple thanked their friends and a relative for willing to spare their free time for the gathering. As for the kids, they couldn’t be happier with the door gifts which they received from their Uncle Yuri as a token of appreciation for spending their time with Junho.

 

“See you later, buddy!,” Junho bid goodbye to his best friend, Prince Kim.

 

“See you in school, Junho ah,” Prince replied while waving his hand at him.

 

“See you later bro, Yoong,” Taeyeon bid goodbye as the Kim family were still left besides Seohyun and her family. The SooSica family went home first because their youngest child, Danish has already fell asleep, probably because he felt tired after playing with the other children.

 

“Thank you for inviting us, Yul, Yoong. Please pray for my delivery to being smooth and less pain this time,” Tiffany said.

 

“Will do. Thanks for coming too. Take care of your health, unnie,” Yoona replied on behalf. The Kim family then left the Kwon’s residence.

 

“Glad that this gathering goes well like usual, right jagi?,” Yuri said.

 

“Yeah, it’s not easy to gather our friends because they are all busy with their work and kids,” Yoona replied.

 

“You’re right, jagi. Alright, I will clean up the table with Hyo,” Yuri said.

 

“Arasso. I will go inside with Junho to check on Seohyun and Juhyeon,” Yoona replied as she ruffled on her son’s hair and both of them went inside the house.

“Aigoo, Juhyeon must have been tired after playing with her oppas and unnie,” Yoona said while caressing the sleeping little girl’s hair. Seohyun put her sleeping daughter on the sofa at the living room.

 

“Yeah. After drinking her milk, she eventually fall asleep,” Seohyun replied while fixing the small blanket which covered her daughter’s small body.

 

“Any plans to add a family member?,” Yoona asked.

 

“Juhyeon is still small, unnie. Of course we do have a plan, but I want Juhyeon to become a big sister like on Junho’s age, then we will think about to give her a sibling,” Seohyun replied.

 

“Yeah, you are right. Junho can take care of himself right now, and he even asked us why he doesn’t have a brother or sister like his Daniel hyung and Daniella noona,” Yoona said.

 

“Aigoo.. That’s very sweet of him! I believe he will become a good oppa or hyung to his siblings,” Seohyun replied.

 

“We hope so,” Yoona said with a smile.

 

“Eomma, can I go outside and help appa and Uncle Hyo?,” Junho asked his mother.

 

“Sure you can, sweetie,” Yoona said as she smiled warmly to her son. Junho immediately left the mothers at the living room and heading to the backyard.

 

“Such a sweet boy,” Seohyun compliments her nephew. Yoona just smiled in return.

 

“Do you want coffee or tea, unnie? I plan to make some for the fathers outside. I forgot I bought some cookies and left it inside the car,” Seohyun asked.

 

“Tea will do. Yul likes coffee,” Yoona replied.

 

“Same goes with Hyo. Alright. Can you take a look at Juhyeon, unnie? I will go and get the cookies first,” Seohyun said.

 

“Sure,” she replied. With that, Seohyun immediately left the living room and went outside to her car.

 

The Kim and Kwon family spent their tea time together, and after Juhyeon woke up from her long nap, the Kim excused themselves to return to their home.

Eight months later

 

Seoul Hospital

 

“How’s she?,” Yoona’s mother asked worriedly as she was the first person to arrive at the hospital after received a call from Yuri. Yuri’s parents were on their way to the hospital. He left Junho with his parents as he was rushing to the hospital with Yoona. Mr. Im couldn’t come as he was in Italy for his work.

 

“She’s fine, mommy. And, guess what? We got a baby girl!,” Yuri replied excitedly.

 

“Omo! Chincha? Thank God! Congratulations, you two!,” Yoona’s mother said as she couldn’t contain her excitement.

 

“Thank you, mommy. The nurses were cleaning the baby, and in one hour time we can visit her and the baby,” Yuri replied.

 

“Arasso. I want to go to the cafeteria. Do you want me to get you anything? Coffee?,” his mother-in-law asked.

 

“Coffee will do, mommy. Thank you. I will stay here until my parents and Junho arrived,” Yuri replied.

 

“Arasso,” his mother-in-law said and with that, she immediately left and heading towards the cafeteria. Yuri then took his seat at the waiting area.

 

“Appaaa!,” he heard his son’s voice calling for him. Yuri immediately got up and walking towards his son.

 

“Aigoo.. How’s my son doing? Are you being good with halmeoni and haraboji?,” he asked as he picked up his son and carried him into his arms.

 

“Dae, appa. Junho read story books with haraboji and halmeoni,” the little boy replied.

 

“Good boy,” Yuri said as he reward his son with kisses on his cheek.

 

“How’s Yoong, Yul?,” Mrs. Kwon asked as they arrived.

 

“She’s fine, mom. The baby is fine too. And we got a baby girl, mom,” Yuri replied smilingly.

 

“Chincha? Omo! Finally we got a girl grandchildren!,” she said excitedly to her husband.

 

“Thank you, Lord!,” Mr. Kwon said thankfully. The reason why Yuri’s parents become so excited was because their oldest son, Hyukjun got a baby boy for their second child. Janghyuk was in a first grade of his elementary school, while his little brother, Janghoon was two years old, same age with Sooyoung’s youngest child.

 

Yuri and Yoona decided not to find out about their second child’s gender as they didn’t want to put a highly hope in getting a baby girl. Although through the previous doctor’s appointment they have been told that they will get a baby girl, they decided to stay with their stance for whatever gender of the baby they will have.

 

“Junho ah, you got a baby sister, you know that?,” Yuri said to his son.

 

“Chincha appa? A baby sister?,” Junho replied as his eyes lit in excitement.

 

“Yes, sweetheart. You can take care of her and play with her later,” he said.

 

“Yeay! I have my own baby sister! I can tell Prince that I have a baby sister too,” Junho excitedly and proudly said, causing the adults chuckled on his words. Tiffany safely delivered a baby girl seven months ago, and they named their baby girl as Princess Stephanie Kim.

 

“Yes, sweetie. Kwon Junho is big brother now,” Mrs. Kwon said while patted on his thigh.

 

“Oh, annyeong Kwon ssi, Hana ssi! You’re here!,” Yoona’s mother greeted her in-laws.

 

“Yunhwa ssi!,” Mrs. Kwon greets her back as she gave her a brief hug. They then took their respective seats at the waiting area.

 

“Here’s your coffee, Yul,” his mother-in-law handed the coffee cup to him.

 

“Thank you, mommy,” he thanked her. The mothers then having their little chat about their new grandchild until the nurse came and informed them that Yoona and the baby have already been transferred into her room.

 

Yuri was the first person who entered the room, and he saw her wife was caressing their baby girl’s cheek.

 

“Hey, baby!,” Yuri greets her. Yoona smiled and gestured with her eyes on Yuri to sit next to the bed. Yuri slowly walking towards the bed, and sat on the chair. His eyes never left on his baby girl, and he smiled widely.

 

“Can I hold her?,” he asked. Yoona nodded weakly and smiled. Yuri carefully scooped the baby’s tiny body and put her into his arm.

 

“Omo! She’s your photocopy, babe,” Yuri said. Yoona chuckled slowly and nodded in agreement. Their baby girl really looks like Yoona when she was a baby, except for her pointy nose which inherits from her appa.

 

“But, she got your nose, honey. I’m so envy of her,” she said. Yuri chuckled.

 

“She’s a Kwon, though. What do you expect?,” he said playfully.

 

“Yeah, right. Anyway, where’s Junho and the rest?,” she asked her husband. After that, the door suddenly opened.

 

“Eomma!,” Junho excitedly exclaimed the moment he entered the room, followed by Yoona’s mother and her parents-in-laws.

 

“Shhh.. Junho ah! Keep quiet, sweetheart. Your baby sister is sleeping,” Yuri said to his son.

 

“Mianhae, appa. Can I see her?,” Junho whispered to his father. Yuri chuckled and walked towards his son. He crouched down and brought his baby girl closer to her big brother.

 

“Annyeong, Jihee ya. Oppa is here. Nice to meet you, Jihee,” Junho whispered to his baby sister. The Kwon decided to name the baby ‘Jihee’ if she’s a girl.

 

“Omo! So cute! She look’s like you, Yoong ah!,” Yoona’s mother excitedly said. Yoona chuckled on her excited mother. Mrs. Kwon joined the crowd, admiring their newborn grandchild.

 

“How are you, Yoong?,” her father in-law asked.

 

“I’m good, daddy,” she replied with a smile.

 

“Thank you for giving another grandchild to us. We are now grandparents to four beautiful grandchildren,” he said as he smiled proudly.

 

“Don’t mention, daddy,” she replied.

 

“I wish Im was here. Why out of so many days, he needs to work on this day? He will feel regret missing this beautiful moment,” he complained about his in-laws who were thousand miles away from Seoul. Yoona just smiled over his words. Deep down in her heart, she missed her father too.

 

“Annyeong!,” a man’s voice suddenly greets them as the door slowly opened, and startles everyone who were inside the room. It’s Hyukjun and his family who came to visit Yoona.

 

The room was merrier than ever as the two family gathered together, happily welcoming their first female heirs of Kwon-Im family.
