Our second ‘not so’ official date - Part 1

Present

“Junho ah.. say daa...ddy”, Yuri said as he tried to teach his son to call him ‘daddy’. Baby Junho was sitting on the play mat while playing with the baby blocks at the living room. Junho looked at his daddy, and blinked his eyes rapidly.

“Ap..paa..”, he mumbled before he continued playing with his blocks.

“Mwoya Junho ah?”, Yuri said in disappointment, earning an alligator laugh from his wife. Yuri pouted.

“He prefer to call you appa, honey ah”, she said, still giggling. Yuri then got up from the floor mat, and sat next to Yoona on the couch. Yoona was reading fashion magazine at that time.

“Aishh.. appa sounds too old, jagiya. I called my dad, daddy. You did the same to your dad. I want my son to call me daddy too”, he said.

“He’s just two years old though. His brain is still in development. Age like him still couldn’t differentiate between right or wrong. He’s not lazy, but he could only memorize certain words which he could easily say or pronounce like ‘appa’ for example”, Yoona explained.

“Wow! You sounded like a child expert, jagiya. I didn’t know that you knew all those things”, Yuri said while staring at his wife in awe. Yoona just giggled.

“When you have a child Mr. Kwon Yuri, you need to learn and should at least have some knowledge about a child care. Taking care a child is not the same as taking care an adult though. They are fragile, and they learn every day through observations of their surroundings, and also from the parents. I read a lot about child care through books and magazines, and also from the Internet. I don’t want Junho to feel neglected like I used to when my parents got divorced. I want to raise our child in a comfortable environment, and give him as much affection he needs”, she said. Yuri nodded his head in agreement.

“I feel so stupid when you told me about those info, jagiya. All this while, I just take care of Junho just like that. I only knew basic things like how to make his milk, bathing him, changing his diapers, feed him, playing with him, and comfort him to sleep. That I learned from my mom, and from you as well”, he said as he smiled faintly.

“Auww.. it’s okay, honey ah”, Yoona said as she sneaked her arm around Yuri’s waist, and hugged him.

“Ap..paa..”, Junho suddenly called him and raised his both hands, waving his hands like he motioning Yuri to come to him. Yuri was dumbfounded while looking at his son.

“Omo! Did you want me to come to you, Junho ah?”, Yuri asked. Junho then slowly nodded his head. Both Yuri and Yoona were surprised with their son’s sudden ability. Yuri covered his mouth as he was still in shock.

“Did you see that, jagiya? He nodded his head like he understand of what I’m saying!”, Yuri said excitedly. Yoona just smiled while patting on his lap, gesturing him to go to get his son. Yuri immediately got up from the couch, and walking towards where his son was sitting. He scooped his son into his arms, and started to showering him with kisses on all over his face. Junho giggled and shrieked as he felt ticklish. Yoona just laughed while looking at father and son’s antics.

“My brilliant baby. Daddy loves you, Junho ah”, he said after he stopped teasing his son.

“Ap..paa..”, Junho said as he patted on Yuri’s cheek. Yuri chuckled.

“Arasso, arasso. You can call me appa from now on”, he replied as he finally relented. He rubbed his sharp nose on his son’s tiny nose before he carried him into his arms, and walked towards the couch. He put Junho to sit in between him and Yoona. Junho crawled to Yoona, and sat on her lap.

“Mam..maa..”, he mumbled while putting his tiny hand on Yoona’s chest.

“Omo.. omo! Did you just call me ‘mama’?”, Yoona said in surprise while holding Junho.

“Mam..maa..”, Junho repeated the word, and caressing her face. Yoona and Yuri chuckled as both of them felt contented with their son’s ability of learning today.

“I think he listened to our conversation just now, jagiya. He really gives us a surprise today, huh?”, Yuri said as he patted on his son’s head. Yoona giggled as she nodded her head.

“Yeah, I think so. You’re such a fast learner, Junho ah”, Yoona replied, and pecked on her son’s cheek. The Kwon family continued chatting while teasing with each other until it’s about the time for their son to take a nap.

:: Flashback ::

“Ehem!”, Yuri and Seohyun were startled with a sudden sound. Seohyun quickly distance herself away from Yuri. Yoona walked passed them, heading to the table where she and Yuri had sat earlier.

“Opsiee..!”, Seohyun said. “I have to excuse myself first, oppa. Don’t be afraid of Yoona unnie. She may look fierce, but she is actually a kind-hearted person. Hwaiting!”, she continued before she waved his hand at Yuri, and immediately headed towards the kitchen.

“Yah! Aishh.. this girl!”, Yuri grumbled. He glanced at the latter who was standing in front of him, glaring at him angrily like he has stole something precious from her.

“Are you trying to flirt with my baby cousin, Kwon Yuri?”, she asked in a straight voice. Yuri shook his head vigorously.

“A-anni. She just giving me some tips.. opss!”, Yuri quickly covered his mouth as the words that he should kept himself were accidentally slipped from his mouth.

“Mworago?”, Yoona asked again, furrowed her brows in curious.

“I-I mean. She j-just want to give me some encouragement in courting you, that’s all”, Yuri stuttered, hoping that Yoona wouldn't notice of what he was saying just now. Yoona squinted her eyes, looking at the stuttering Yuri rather suspiciously.

“You better mean that, Kwon Yuri. Otherwise, just forget about your chance already”, she warned as she quickly took her belonging which she had been inadvertently left it before she went out of the cafe.

“I really mean it, though! Please believe me”, Yuri said in a pleading tone. Yoona just giggled silently while acknowledging of his sincerity.

“Alright. So, I will see you whenever I will see you”, Yoona replied while waving her hand at him before she turned her heels towards the cafe’s door, leaving the dumbfounded Yuri. He just watching his dream girl walking away from him until she disappeared from his sight. He then slowly smirking when he suddenly got an idea.

“You will see me in no time, Im Yoona”, he mumbled smilingly.

“RING! RING! RING!”

“Star Agency, Summer Choi Sooyoung speaking!”, a cheerful voice being heard through the phone.

“Hey, buddy! Are you busy right now?”, Yuri asked. He decided to call his best friend to get info about Yoona’s manager, Chunyeon.

“Ermm.. not really. Wae?”, Sooyoung replied.

“I need your favor, bro”, he said.

“Sure, buddy. What’s up?”, Sooyoung replied while checking on his planner.

“Did you happen to know Im Yoona’s manager, Chunyeon?”, Yuri asked again.

“Oh, Chunyeon hyung. Yeah, I know him. Wae?”, Sooyoung said in curious.

“I need his phone number. I kind of.. want to know about Yoona’s schedule”, Yuri replied frankly.

“Waeyo? I heard from Jessica that you and Yoona were dating. Why don’t you ask herself?”, Sooyoung asked.

“I think she didn’t tell you enough about the whole story, huh?”, Yuri replied.

“I think so. Tell me, how’s the progress so far?”, Sooyoung asked. Yuri then started to explain from A to Z about him and Yoona to his best friend.

“Ah, I see. Alright, just give me a second. I need to find his phone number first”, Sooyoung said.

“Sure, buddy. Take your time”, Yuri replied as he waited patiently.

“Alright, here’s his phone number…”, Sooyoung said as he gave Chunyeon's telephone numbers to Yuri.

“Thanks a lot, buddy. I owe you for this. Lunch or dinner together some other time? You can bring Jessica too”, Yuri replied as he offered to treat his best friend for helping him.

“Are you bribing me, Kwon Yuri?”, Sooyoung said jokingly, earning a laugh from Yuri.

“Kind of. Anyway, I will email you the file for the next project. Hear it first, and give me your comment later, okay?”, Yuri said.

“Sure do, buddy”, Sooyoung replied.

“Alright, I’ll see you later. Send my regards to Jessica, okay?”, Yuri said as he ended the conversation.

“Arasso. See you later, bye!”, Sooyoung replied before he hung up.

After he arrived at his office, Yuri immediately sat on the chair, and took out his phone. He was about to dial Chunyeon’s number, but suddenly he stopped from doing so as an idea suddenly came up.

“If I call him right now, Yoona must be with him. She would find out later”, Yuri mumbled to himself while staring at his phone. After thinking for a moment, he suddenly got an idea, and snapping his fingers.

“Assa! I can text him first, asking him whether he’s with Yoona or not. And, after making sure the line is clear, then I can call him. You’re brilliant, Kwon Yuri”, he said as he patted his shoulder proudly. He quickly tapping on the phone screen, and begin to type the text.

To: Chunyeon

Annyeong, Chunyeon ssi! This is Kwon Yuri. Do you still remember me?

Yuri read the text once again before he tapping the ‘send’ button. He bite his lips as he waited nervously. After a while, suddenly his phone beeped. He tapped the incoming text icon, and read the text.

From: Chunyeon

Annyeong Kwon Yuri ssi! Of course I remember you. You’re Yoong’s friend, and also the famous composer. How have you been?

Yuri smiled after reading the text. He quickly replied.

To: Chunyeon

I’m good. Thanks for asking. I’m sorry I had to ask for your favor Chunyeon ssi. Is Yoona with you right now?

Yuri tapped his fingers on his desk while waiting for the text reply.

From: Chunyeon

No, I’m at the agency’s office right now. I just came back from sending Yoona to the photo shooting location. How can I help you, Yuri ssi?

“Assa!”, Yuri exclaimed while immediately dialling Chunyeon’s number.

“Yoboseyo?”, Chunyeon answered the call.

“Annyeong, Chunyeon ssi! This is Kwon Yuri. I’m sorry if I disturbing you right now”, Yuri said.

“Oh, Yuri ssi! Annyeong! It’s okay. I’m not busy at the moment. How can I help you, Yuri ssi?”, he replied.

“Ermm.. this is a bit personal, Chunyeon ssi. I..”, Yuri paused as he hesitated whether he should tell him or not.

“Gwenchana Yuri ssi. Just tell me, and I will try my best to help you”, Chunyeon said as he encouraged Yuri to tell him.

“Err.. it is.. actually.. I-I want to know about Yoona’s flight departure to Paris on tomorrow”, he replied nervously.

“Oh, is that so? But, if you don’t mind, can I ask you why?”, he asked.

“Well, actually…”, Yuri started telling Chunyeon about what had happened between him and Yoona all this while.

“Ah, I see. You know what, Yuri ssi, I actually knew about you and Yoona before this”, Chunyeon told him.

“Jinja? H-how did you know?”, he asked in surprise. He heard Chunyeon chuckled over the line, causing him to feel embarrassed.

“Yoona and me are just like siblings, Yuri ssi. Whenever she had problems, she will shared it with me. I’m sure you already know she’s the only child, and her parents were divorced when she was small. So, I've been like a big brother to her, you know”, Chunyeon said as he explained to Yuri about Yoona.

“Ah, I see. So, will you please help me? I just want to show her that I’m serious with her. I really like her, Chunyeon ssi”, Yuri said. Chunyeon just smiled as he could feel his sincerity through his voice.

“Don’t worry, Yuri ssi. Yoona likes you too. It’s just that she’s still feel hurt with her past experience, and I’m sure you know what it is, right?”, Chunyeon replied.

“Dae. I knew about it, Chunyeon ssi”, Yuri said.

“Just call me hyung, Yuri ssi”, Chunyeon replied.

“O-okay, hyung. And, call me Yuri”, he said.

“Alright, Yuri. Her flight to Paris will be on 11:30 p.m. tomorrow. So, we will depart to Incheon airport around 8:30 p.m.”, he informed.

“Arasso. Thank you so much, hyung. I really owe you for this. Perhaps we can meet some other time to have some drinks or coffee together”, Yuri replied as he wanted to express his gratitude to Chunyeon for helping him out.

“Sure, Yuri ah. And, good luck for tomorrow. Hwaiting!”, Chunyeon said, causing Yuri to chuckle.

“Ahahaha.. thanks again, hyung!”, he thanked him, still chuckling. After both of them ended the phone conversation, Yuri started to think about his plan to surprise his soon-to-be girlfriend tonight.

“Yoong ah, have you checked all your belongings, your passport?”, Chunyeon asked. They were in the car, on the way to the airport.

“Dae, oppa. Everything’s in here”, Yoona said as she pointed on her luggage and handbag.

“Good. We will arrive in half an hour time”, he said as he focused his eyes on the road. He sat next to the driver who was assigned by the agency to send both of them to the airport. Yoona sat at the passenger’s seat at the back.

After almost an hour journey, finally they arrived at the airport. After the car leaving the airport, Chunyeon helped Yoona to carry her luggage as they headed inside.

“Yoong ah, you can go to Starbuck’s cafe first, and wait for me there, okay? I need to do the check-in first”, Chunyeon ordered. Luckily there were not so many people at that time at the airport.

“Dae, oppa”, Yoona replied as she nodded meekly. She turned her heels towards the direction to the cafe. As soon as Yoona disappeared from his sight, Chunyeon immediately fished out his phone, and speed dial Yuri’s number.

“Yoboseyo?”, Yuri answered.

“Yuri ah, Yoong is on her way there. Good luck!”, Chunyeon informed.

“Gomawo, hyung!”, Yuri replied before he hung up the call.

As soon as Yoona entered the cafe, the workers there immediately recognized her and greeted her. They then led her to the vacant table which is a bit secluded. She was about to place her order when suddenly the worker told her that someone has already ordered food and drinks for her.

“Must be Chunyeon oppa. But, when did he make the order? We just arrived here. I don’t think he made a call to the cafe here”, Yoona mumbled to herself as she felt weird. While she was busy looking at her phone, suddenly a person approached her, and put a tray of foods and drinks on the table.

“Here’s your order, Miss Im”, the person said.

“Thanks”, she thanked the person as her eyes still glued at her phone. But she suddenly gasped as the person’s voice was so familiar to her ears. She immediately lifted her head, and was shocked to see the person.
