You stare at the clock, watching it strike two in the morning. You yawn some more, feeling your body dying for some rest.

Where the hell is he? you ask yourself. It was strange. Daehyun never goes out until this late, especially without telling you first.

You check your phone, for the hundredth time tonight, making sure that you had no unread text messages, or any missed calls.

Nothing.

Great.

Just as you press his contact information to call him for the tenth time, you hear the front door unlock, making you jump out of your skin. You turn back and see him there. But what you see there is not the Daehyun you are expecting.

He is still in his work clothes, which makes sense since he had work today yesterday. But his hair is a mess. His hair fell in front of his face, drench in what appears to be sweat. His tie isn't even on correctly, it hangs loosely on his neck, revealing his collarbones.

You look at him, not even wanting to yell at him for coming back so late anymore. You just want to know what happened.

You stand from the couch, catching his attention. He darts his eyes at you, eyes widening at the sight of you.

"Wh- Why are you still awake?" he chokes out slowly.

Now you are angry. Why is he questioning you? You weren't the one out till a little past two.

"Honey, you really should be asleep. For the baby," he continues rattling.

You snap in anger. You throw your hands on your waist.

"Why are you catechizing me?" your voice only quivering slightly. "Where the hell were you? Why haven't you answered any of my calls, texts... Daehyun, I was awake because I was worried!"

He pauses at the sound of your voice, trying to comprehend it all. You see him swallow hard, clearly trying to figure out what to say.

"I was... I was held back at work."

You fume. Lying? Was he serious?

The look at your face must make it obvious that you are angry, because he immediately starts speaking.

"I... I went out."

"I can tell." You're even surprised at how agitated you became.

He rubs his face in frustration. As you watch him do so, you notice tears slowly coming out of his eyes.

You drop your hands, stepping closer to him. You now smell alcohol reeking from him.

Is he drunk?

"Dae... Daehyun. What happened?" you meekly ask.

He looks away from you, his tears becoming more and more evident.

"Daehyun... Daehyun, tell me."

He shakes his head, immediately heading off to the bedroom.

"I can't tell you."
