Woohyun could only sigh at his friend’s remarks. He was being so greasy before, grinning and throwing hearts to the fans, non-stop until the stage was over. But an awkward smile was replaced when she came close and handed the microphone to Key.

“Don’t think nonsense. She’s just intimidating to me.”

“Can’t you at least try and be friends with her?” He asked. Woohyun stopped to think.

He plugged in his earphone and hit the play button. Three weeks already but the song’s still everywhere and he couldn’t help but to picture her face in his mind. She’s pretty, y and sometimes cute even though she denied it. She’s also humble but she could be a scary lady at times, Woohyun thought, but that’s what made she’s special.

He snapped.

Why was he thinking of her too much lately? Could it be that she’s always at the TV and her voice was on the radio that she always popped into his mind?

But they were never close. He didn’t know why. Probably ever since his best friend confessed to her on that variety show a few years back, he never tried to. They met, exchanged good luck cheers, succeeding together, becoming popular together for these past years but it’s a little odd, Woohyun thought. That girl never stood out whenever their groups met but he couldn’t stop searching for her figure first before looking for anyone else. But he never tried to know her more, or do anything more.

Then, that time came. When they became a couple in a Chuseok program a couple of years ago. Time flew but he could still remember her face, her radiant smile, the awkward times they spent with each other and her lively laugh. Well, they didn’t get a good fortune together but to Woohyun, he always believed in destiny.

Suddenly, an odd disappointment and sadness sipped into his heart when the song in his phone ended.

So, it turned out that they were actually never meant to be together.

The sudden beep of his phone snapped him back to reality as he tapped the message button.

Message: I heard about your debut with Key. Hwaiting!

There’s a smiley at the end that he couldn’t help but to smile back. It’s been a while since she texted him, he thought and probably destiny still wanted them to be together. Heart racing, Woohyun tapped the reply button.

Message: Thanks. Great job, I heard your song. It’s a Deabak.

He hesitated for a while whether to put a smiley at the end but eventually, he hit the send button without doing so and waited. But to his disappointment, there was no reply even until he was finished with his practice for the day.

Woohyun was hearing her voice on the car’s radio, again while he’s on his way to the company. He pinched his lower lip and thought. About her, her message and why didn’t she reply it. Was it because he didn’t put a smiley? But that sounded ridiculous… Maybe it’s because she’s busy. Besides, texts like that didn’t need a reply. He didn’t even ask her a question… Haha, silly Woohyun, he thought to himself.

He twitched at the sound from his phone. It seemed that he’s gotten sensitive from message alerts since yesterday.

          Message: Where are you? Quick…

He sighed. It turned out to be Key. Didn’t bother to reply, Woohyun put his phone on his lap and tried to shake all thoughts about that particular lady until he arrived at his destination ten minutes later.
