Chanyeol doesn’t go to school the next day. He complains to his mother about being sick, keeps the blankets drawn up to his chin and throws a pathetic puppy dog expression in her direction when she enters the room. Chanyeol hasn’t faked sick since he was in elementary school, so even though his mother could easily see through his act, she lets him stay home, promising to call the school for him.

Chanyeol spends his whole day in his bedroom, only coming out when his mother forces him to eat. He’s still upset about leaving that guy in the bathroom all on his own; if he had entered he could have stopped it.

It’s 5pm in the evening when Chanyeol hears a soft knock on his bedroom door.  “I’m busy mom,” he calls out. He’s greeted with silence in reply and just as he’s close to putting the sheets over his head, he hears the doorknob twisting and opening. He’s greeted first by brunette hair and then a cheeky smile.

“Busy sulking,” his friend states teasingly, he opens the door more, walks inside and closes it behind him. “Do you know how hard it is to keep saying ‘I don’t know’ when someone asks you where your best friend is? Jongdae and I were totally worried about you today.”

“Where’s Jongdae,” Chanyeol asks, sitting up and looking towards his bedroom door as if expecting Jongdae to enter.

“He didn’t come,” Baekhyun states, “I told him you came down with a contagious stomach virus but he promised to call later. I figured you wouldn’t want him to know about this.”

“He’d hate me,” Chanyeol states, before turning towards Baekhyun. “Why don’t you hate me?”

“I don’t know,” Baekhyun shrugs his shoulders, “probably cause if you add up all the money you owe me it’s be 450000 won. Until you pay your debt I won’t hate you.”

“I’m serious Baek,” Chanyeol whines out.

“It’s because you’re my best friend Park Chanyeol, and even if you had a slight lapse in judgment I’m not going to stop being your friend. You’re not Superman; you don’t have to save everyone to prove you’re a good person. You’ve saved me enough times as it is.”

“That kid, how is he,” Chanyeol asks. Baekhyun’s grin fades, he pushes Chanyeol over on the bed and lays down on his stomach eyes closing as if he’s about to fall asleep.
