The Man I once loved…

The memory I tried so hard to erase, the reason why despite my successful career, I still feel empty.

I ran inside my apartment with tears racing down my cheeks. I laid on my bed with my face pressed on

the pillow, that witnessed all my pain and tears.

Why now when I am in need for peace of mind? Why now that all I planned to do is to put my mind and

heart to rest? I know this moment will come, it’s a small world after all, but not now; not this sudden.

Honestly, when I saw him… all I want to do is run to him and hug him tight, but I just can’t….

I can’t…

I promised him I’ll go away, to leave and never show up! He made me promise…

But why did I run away from him in the park? I stood up at the thought. It wasn’t my fault right? He’s

the one who showed up, not me. I did what I promised him… I left my beloved hometown, my family

and my friends.

I wiped my tears and make up my mind. I still have almost half a day to rest, I won‘t let anyone ruin it.

At that thought, I decided to have a heavy lunch just to keep myself busy.

I was eating my heart out when the doorbell rang… I stood to open my apartment door with my mouth

still full.

“Delivery for Mr. Lee Sungmin” it was a delivery boy.

I almost choked as I saw the delivery was a bouquet of flowers.

“Please sign this sir” he said still with enthusiasm

“Thank you” that was what I managed to say after signing.

I went inside the apartment and checked the flowers. Was it really for me? I asked myself.

I really don’t know what to think, so I called up my ever dearest best friend, Kim Ryewook.

“Wookie, what will I do? I received some flowers” I asked, still confused.

“OMO Minnie! You have a boyfriend now? Why haven’t you told me, I was supposed to be your best

friend?” Wookie was obviously freaking out.

“Yah! Stop freaking out! I don’t have a boyfriend okay, I honestly don’t know who send this” I said or

rather shouted.

“Oh, I think it’s a secret admirer… is there any card?” with that I remembered to check and I found a

card in between the stems of the flowers.

“Yah, I forgot to check” I said feeling so stupid.

“What does it say” Wookie asked excitedly.

“Hey Minnie! You still there? Minnie are you okay?” Wookie’s loud voice brought me back to my

senses again.

“hey Minnie, what is in the card” he said eagerly

“Yeah… the c-card, it says---

I Know I needed just one more chance to prove my love to you. I hope you give me that chance, Minnie.

“Yah! You sure you don’t have a boyfriend?” Wookie asked

“I don’t have any boyfriend okay, I never had one and you know that” I said convincingly

“Who send that? CHO KYUHYUN? Oops! Sorry Minnie I need to go, bye!” he hung up the phone

before I can even react.
