Taking Over Me
Hoya was sitting on the edge of the skateboard rink looking down at Haewon as she was doing different tricks on her skateboard. Apparently Hoya had to call it Clare.
It was rather awkward sitting alone. Everyone at the scene knew how to skateboard while Hoya had barely seen a skateboard in his life.
“You’re really good” Hoya said as Haewon climbed up the ramp and sat down next to him.
“Thanks” She said as she braided her long hair into a braid.
“You’re good at skateboarding and you know how to dance, is there anything else I should know about you?”
“I’m pretty awesome in every way” Haewon winked.
“I believe you” Hoya laughed.
“How about you? Do you just dance?”
“I guess” he looked straight ahead. The sun was setting in the sky, coloring the sky pink. “I’m quite boring”
“I doubt that” Haewon smiled.
“Why?” Hoya looked at her.
“I don’t really know…you just don’t seem boring to me”
Hoya didn’t realize it at first but he started to smile. There was something that felt good when Haewon said those words. It was like she accepted him and might actually enjoy being with him.
“So where’s Leiko and Tom?” Hoya changed the topic.
“Probably sleeping” Haewon rolled her eyes “They like to sleep”
“And you don’t?” Hoya raised his brow. He thought that everyone liked to sleep.
“I enjoy it, I just don’t enjoy it as much as them. I wanna be out doing stuff instead of lying inside all of the day. I don’t want to be the girl no one remembers, I want to be someone everyone as a memory with”
“Wow” Hoya sighed.
“Yeah” Haewon awkwardly laughed “so…do you want to try?”
“Try what?” But Haewon didn’t have to answer his question before he understood what she was referring to.
“If you just stand on the board and then I push” Haewon said as she placed Clare down on the asphalt “I think that will be the easiest way”
“O-okay…” Hoya didn’t want to admit it but he was quite scared. He lifted his left foot and placed it on the board. Before he was able to lift his other foot Haewon reached out her hand towards him from the other side of the skateboard. He mouthed a ‘thank you’ before he grabbed her hand for support as he lifted his foot. It was rather shaky and if it weren’t for Haewon’s supporting hand he would have fallen immediately.
“You ready?”
“As ready as I can get” Hoya nervously said.
“Okay,” Haewon still held onto his hand but placed her other hand on his back as she gently pushed “here it goes”
It wasn’t hard at all to stand on the board as she pushed. Hoya co
