They were both in front of the door of the class, Kris brought him to the outside in order that the students wouldn’t see and hear what they talked about.

“Look, Kris.” Siwon looked at him straight into the eye, he put on a serious expression because this was all about his sister that they both talked about. “You will go to Germany for two years, can you imagine how she would be if she knew you will leave her this time around?”

“I’ve been thinking about that recently, hyung.” Kris told that to Siwon

“That’s why you need to stay away from her from now on, so, she will forget about you and when you go, she will feel nothing. I don’t wanna see her sad only because of you, she has already known about Victoria can’t be healed and about your leaving, it will just add more pressure for her.” Siwon said. He was thinking about Amber’s feeling towards Kris actually, he would agree with their relationship if Kris wouldn’t leave her when Amber was really falling in love. But, he knew it was only Kris for her, so, he thought with Kris staying away from her, she would be fine when Kris really took a leave.

“Think about that.” Siwon emphasized it again and then, he excused himself from Kris before the younger man entered the class again.

He closed the door behind him when he was entering the class. He saw his students, he knew the students were wondering what he talked about with Amber’s brother, but he just put on a nice smile for them all. “Let’s see our topic for today.” With that, he just prepared his presentation, ignoring all the looks on him from his students.

Kris just explained the subject for this morning in front of the students just like usual. To be honest, the way Amber looked at him with her worried expression made him uneasy although he was trying very hard not to put a gaze at her.

“Any question?” Kris asked the students in the middle of his teaching

One student raised her hand, “Professor Li, does it mean you need analgesic-inflammatory too?”

Spontaneously, it made Kris widen his eyes hearing that student’s question. “Pardon?” He saw all his students as he thought on his mind ‘Am I not good in acting I’m fine today?’

“Professor Li.” Amber spoke up and it successfully made Kris turn his eyes to her figure although he didn’t want to. “You look pale, your face is red. Are you alright? You don’t need something?” She asked him with her innocent expression that he missed a lot.

“Miss Choi.” He walked to approach her table slowly as he spoke. “I guess you’re the one who needs this analgesic-inflammatory medication.” He stopped in front of her table, “Have you taken your medication this morning?” Kris asked her as he bent down seeing her eyes, it was very close until her heart beat so fast.

Amber knew Kris asked her because of her lower extremity, she still couldn’t walk but her father had prepared physical therapy for her. “Yes, I have.”

He leveled up his body again, “As we know, class. Miss Choi got car accident before that caused dysfunctional of her lower extremity. She takes pharmacological therapy which we learn today and she also takes non-pharmacological therapy which is physical therapy. So, Miss Choi, I think it would be nonsense if you didn’t pass the test correctly and smoothly next week.”

“NEXT WEEK?????????” All the students gasped and Kris just gave winning smile in front of the class. Nobody could about his feeling in the class because he was the boss here. The class continued again smoothly until it ended, Kris stuffed his things and he brought them all in his office room.

Dropping his body on the chair of his office room, he looked at the ceiling. He thought about what Siwon said to him. Siwon was correct, he shouldn’t be around Amber this time around, he shouldn’t meet her, he should stay away from her.

“What’s up, Kris?” Chansung suddenly appeared in front of him from nowhere. He studied Kris’s expression which was not really good today. “Are you sick?”

“Do I look like I’m sick?” Kris asked the guy, he wondered if he was really pale because his students and now Chansung asked him about that

“Yeah, you look so…. Blue.. Something happened?” Chansung asked him for further. “I know Amber isn’t living with you again, but seriously, Kris, you lived alone even before Amber lived with you.”

“I’ve been thinking about my leaving recently.” Kris talked to Chansung. “Siwon said that I should stay away from his sister from now on, I guess he’s right because I think the same thing.”

“Dude..” Chansung understood his position, because he also had wife but they were in different situation. Chansung could just bring his wife to Germany because they were married but Kris no. He was nobody to Amber and the thought of bringing Amber to Germany must’ve been rejected by Amber’s family. “So, what’s your plan?”

“I just… I don’t know.. I’m thinking how to break up with her.” Kris confessed and his heart sank. It was difficult to get her heart and now, he had to break up with her. It was for her goods, she had dream as a doctor and he didn’t want to be her obstacle to reach that.  

Kris was in despair, he was working his document and his project on his computer before he experimented trial and error in the laboratory in Germany later on. A knock on the door snapped him into reality again and he allowed the guest to enter his office room.

“Professor Li.” Amber’s voice made Kris screw up. He didn’t know how to face her right now but he just stayed cool right there. Amber approached Kris with her wheel chair as she brought her thesis for Kris to be revised. “May you check my thesis? I’ve talked about this to Doctor Choi.”

“Of course. Just place it on my desk.” Kris put on a frigid face as he replied Amber, even he pointed out the desk with his chin without any smile. “Thanks.”

“Is that it?” Amber asked him more

“What more do you want?” Kris asked her back very coldly

She learnt his face, something was wrong with him that she couldn’t tell. She knew he hid something from her, “What did Siwon oppa say to you?” Amber exploded because she really didn’t like how Kris treated her this time

He bit his inner cheeks as eyes were still on the computer and fingers typed on the keyboard. “Nothing.”

“He wants you to stay away from me?” She guessed and it was correct. “And you agree?” She asked again for further but he didn’t answer her, he thought he shouldn’t answer her because it wasn’t his portion as her Professor to talk about this to her in this moment. “… But why?” She sounded trembling but Kris kept ignoring her although deep inside him, he wanted to bring her in his embrace now

“Kris?” Amber called his name with no honorific manner because she was upset to him. “Why are you doing this to me?” She tried to be patient but she couldn’t now. She approached him more, she extended her hands to reach his hand and stopped him working on his computer. “Answer me.”

He shook his head, holding back his tears. “I can’t be with you anymore.”

“What?” Her heart sank after hearing him, it was straight for her and she couldn’t agree with him. “You can’t?” Her tears threatened her eyes, he was very cruel to her until she couldn’t accept him

“I’m sorry. I’m only your Professor, nothing more than that.” Kris said that straightforwardly although his heart was in pain but he couldn’t find another way than this one. He didn’t have the heart to hurt her but he was doing it right now.

She shook her head, scoffing as she felt really stupid and heartbroken. “…Do you know it hurts? It does hurt, Kris. I can’t believe you can do this to me.”

“I break up with you.” Amber was very emotional, but she was trying not to cry in front of him. “I.. Break up with you.” She let go of his hand and started to move away with her wheel chair. “Thanks for checking out my thesis, Professor Li.”

She just got out of Kris’s office room, she a bit hoped he would call her name but there was no voice of his. She ended their relationship, she couldn’t believe it was this easy and he didn’t even try to defend their relationship and just agreed instead.

Amber was brought by Siwon with his car to head to the hospital. She had an appointment with her father to do the physical therapy for her lower extremity. Mr. Choi could see the sadness in her eyes but he didn’t want to bring that topic but as the time went by, it really interrupted her concentration to do the therapy.

“My dear, what happened?” Mr. Choi asked her when they both took a break for awhile. He guessed it was the right time for him to get to know his own daughter

“You love mom?” Amber asked her father and he just nodded because it was the truth. “So, if mom suddenly leaved you without any explanation, how would you be?”

“At first, of course, I would be upset, it’s human nature but then, I would think further the reason why she left me because there must be something that she hid but she couldn’t tell me this soon.” Her father gave her the answer, it was logical, he was a smart but she thought it was only a theory and practically, she knew he wouldn’t be like that because it wasn’t that easy.

“What did you do when mom leaved you for another guy before? Almost thought of suicide?” Amber shot her father straightforwardly

“It was very difficult. You’re right. I was a new doctor in the hospital, I even wanted to kill myself by taking sleeping pills, I locked myself in the room for four days without eating and I thought why I didn’t die. Then, I knew if I died….” Her father paused and then, he made his face closer to hers. “I wouldn’t meet you, my beautiful daughter!!! KYAAA!!” He pinched her nose, he teased his daughter once more. “Seriously, why did you ask that? Hmm? Is it about him?” He grinned widely in front of Amber, making dumb face  

“What do you mean by ‘him’?” Amber pouted because her father could read her very well although it was only for a week since they knew they were family

“Oh c’mon, sweetheart.” He patted Amber’s hair softly as he smiled annoyingly. “Who else? Only three men who are close to you. Me who is your beloved dad, your smart and handsome brother—“

“That’s all, only two guys not three.”

He flicked his tongue, “How’s your Professor?”

“He’s only a Professor.” Amber corrected him

“Really? There’s no special stuff?”

“No.” She shook her head
