“EHEM! So?”

While Kris brought five cups of warm tea to the living room, he heard the girls interrogating Amber about his relationship with her. Amber hesitated to answer their question, they were really curious about Amber and Kris. Hyuna, Eunjung and Suzy were Amber’s close friends but Amber never talked about her friendship with Kris a.k.a their Professor in the University.

“Here, enjoy.” Kris put the tray on the table, giving a sweet smile to his students then, moved to sit next to Amber on the couch

“Thank you, Prof--  Oh, wait.. Thanks, Kris.” Eunjung furrowed her eyebrows seeing Kris and instead of calling him politely and formally, she called him only by his name

“Hey! Language, Lady! He’s your Professor!” Amber who caught Eunjung’s word got mad easily because of her attitude towards Kris

“Why, Amber? You call him ‘Kris’, right?” Hyuna defended Eunjung, putting on big smile as she loved teasing this girl 

“Or worse? You call him by sappy name? Like ‘Baby’?” This time was Suzy’s turn to joke around Amber, making her blush like crazy in front of them all including Kris himself

“No! I’m not that cheap.” Amber was pouting her lips and her face was super red. The girls were in awe seeing her while Kris only smiled looking at all the girls in front of him. Seeing Amber like this was a jackpot for him, she was such a cutie but Kris never knew that Amber was this cute. She always acted like nothing happened when she was around him, she never showed her cute side for him, she wasn’t spoiled and sassy, Kris thought that he should thank Amber’s friend for making her become like this

“So, boyfriend and girlfriend?” The girls thought the same thing and they all said it in unison in a very clear voice

“Yes.” Still smiling sweetly, Kris answered them in a soft voice

“No!” Amber denied it right after hearing what Kris just said

“Alright, because Kris is our handsome and smart Professor so, I’ll take his answer. It’s a yes, then.” Hyuna nodded and the others agreed with her decision

“Kris! Why are you like this?????” Amber made a little bump on the couch, feeling annoyed because of everything around her

“I’m like what??” Kris only acted cool and Amber scoffed seeing him. Everytime he acted like cold urban man, it was always disgusting for her to see. She shook her head seeing him then, her eyes directed to her friends then, diverted to him again. “Shoot! Now you’re my girlfriend.”

“OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!” The others were shouting out loud, cupping their face looking at how Kris made Amber become his girlfriend in front of their eyes

Amber groaned and rolled her eyes. “Tsk! Don’t mind him, he’s always like that. We’re not like what you’re thinking.”

“Please, tell us the truth.” Suzy asked them in a nice way right now

Amber huffed, looking at Kris, he wasn’t helping at all. It made her speak the truth about her sister, her ex boyfriend and her best friend. She told them too how she could live together with Kris, she just told them everything that happened to her around these past months. The girls didn’t know how to react, it was painful story, she must’ve been hurt a lot because of it but she kept smiling in front of them. She hid all of them, acting like normal even though she was in misery.

“But you have Kri—I mean Professor Li. No need to be worried, we’re with you too. Just stop hiding everything from us all.” Eunjung responded Amber and made her comfortable around them right now

Amber felt touched by Eunjung’s words, she was matured already but Amber never knew that. They were encouraging her and she showed them her gratitude. Kris was relieved knowing the girls weren’t jealous of Amber and they didn’t have any bad thought about her because she lived with him, he was proud of his students. He was glad that Amber was being loved by everyone around her, so, he didn’t have much worries about her anymore because many good people took care of her and protected her

It ended up by them having dinner together in Kris’s house. He was preparing the food for them all, it made them fall for him even more. Amber was lucky, very lucky for having Kris by her side every day because Kris might seem cold but actually he was a soft-hearted man and he got good manners. That was why many girls wanted him so badly

“Thank you so much, Professor Li. See you guys later.”

“You’re welcome. Take care.” 

The girls always melted everytime Kris put a smile on his face and this got so much worse when they all knew that Kris was actually a softhearted man because according to his appearance, he didn’t seem like that.

“Bye, guys.” Amber waved at her friends when they all walked away from Kris’s house. They all knew about her and Kris now, glad they didn’t know about her feeling towards Kris. It would be the end of the world for her because they must’ve teasing her for the rest of her life. She was still young, she was just a normal girl just like the others, she had a person to crush on too and it was Kris and it wasn’t wrong at all

“See that?” Kris’s voice broke the silence between them, making Amber look up at his face from beside him. “You have many people around you. Stop hiding, it hurts me to see you cry.” He looked down at her, cupping her face and she looked very cute in his eye. She bit her bottom lip, her face became red again because his nose almost brushed hers. “There’s no secret anymore.”

She nodded, signaling she agreed to what he said. ‘There’s no secret anymore’ was all Kris said to her although she wasn’t sure about it because right now, she really hid her special feeling for him. She was shy to tell him that she really loved him, she wanted to take care of him too not him who always took care of her. Amber was sure if she told him about her feeling, Kris must’ve only seen her as his sister or best friend and not more than that, based on his attitude towards her, she knew it.

Kris’s eyes made a gaze on her lips, they were fascinating. He couldn’t control his hormones and they became worse when he saw her red face, she was blushing and it was because of him. He was never able to read Amber’s expression before but now, he knew that he and Amber had something in common. It was love between them, there was spark when they both saw each other’s eye. Kris couldn’t stand it anymore, he screwed about his thoughts, he loved her and he wanted her to know that he was serious.

Quickly, he stole a kiss from Amber. His lips touched hers, making Amber flinch in her position right now. It was only a touch from his lips, he didn’t have the opportunity to engulf her lips and show his affection to her because she pushed him and ran away from him.

He only saw her getting into the bedroom that they shared, rubbing his temple, feeling guilty about that. “Is she angry? Am I not good enough for her?” Kris sighed then, he walked towards the kitchen. “What if she only takes that as a joke? I’m not joking! I’m serious!” Kris scolded himself as he saw his reflection into the mirror. “Amber, I love you so much. Would you be my girlfriend? I promise you I won’t be a player anymore, I won’t drink alcohol, I won’t be drunk. Just be mine and everything’s fine.”

He practiced his sentences for the next when he got a chance to tell her but he thought they’re weren’t good words to tell her. It sounded like jokes, it sounded selfish. “No, no, it’s won’t be working.”

Days after days had passed, he got many chances to tell his feeling for Amber actually but he couldn’t say it because he kept thinking for good words. She was special for him, he wanted to cherish her and it should be romantic when they got together.

“Amber, an atom will be stable if it has paired electrons and I’ll be stable if my heart pairs with yours.”
