Return of the Hyung
A Pocketful of Sunshine
“Hyung!” shrieked Sehun, launching himself at the young male that had just entered the group’s dorm.
“How I missed you, Sehun-ah,” chuckled Luhan, dropping his duffel bag onto the ground as he returned the crushing embrace.
“What about me?” grinned Chanyeol, as the rest of EXO-K walked into the lounge room, upon hearing Sehun’s excited shout as he’d opened the door. “Did you miss me?”
“I missed you all,” Luhan smiled, his face breaking into a wide smile as his crinkled eyes roamed over the rest of the group.
Gaze roving over a wide-eyed yet thrilled Kyungsoo, who was currently fretting over the fact that he hadn’t anticipated on extra company for dinner, a beaming Suho, who was scolding a twitching Chanyeol for tickling a squealing Baekhyun, resulting in the latter collapsing to the ground in a fit of giggles, before settling on Kai, who was glaring daggers at him.
Stunned, Luhan let his arms drop from Sehun’s waist, all the while wondering what had made Kai so furious. His eyes widened – much resembling Kyungsoo’s – as realisation dawned on him. Kai was jealous. Looking back down at a beaming Sehun who was gazing up at him with undisguised adoration, Luhan realised that Kai was jealous of him.
Opening his mouth to reassure the young male that he had nothing to worry about, Luhan felt his stomach drop as he saw Kai retreating into his bedroom, slamming the door behind him.
Growling angrily as he remembered the delighted expression on his beloved’s face, as he’d seen Luhan standing outside the door, Kai had never felt so insignificant.
Why doesn’t Sehun get so animated about me? He asked himself miserably, flopping down on his bed face-first.
“Kai?” came a soft voice from his doorway.
With a non-committal grunt, Kai rolled over slowly before glaring furiously at his intruder. Gaze softening slightly, as he realised that it was a gently smiling Kyungsoo, he sighed then beckoned his friend inside.
“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be out here with everyone else celebrating Luhan’s sudden return?” Jongin asked, his voice shaking as frustration entered it.
“I could say the same of you,” Kyungsoo replied, sitting down on the edge of the bed. “You know…Sehun was only excited because he hasn’t seen Luhan in months – we all haven’t seen any of EXO-M in ages.”
“Yeah…” Kai mumbled unconvincingly, burying his face into the pillow and resisting the urge to cry.
“Kai…Sehun loves you,” began Kyungsoo, wanting to reassure Kai that his lover wasn’t going anywhere. “He and Luhan are just really close friends.”
“Friends, huh?” sniggered Kai bitterly. “Haven’t you heard the fans? Hunhan is all the rage – once they get a whiff of the fact that Luhan’s back in Korea, it’ll be even crazier.”
“Since when are fangirls ever right?” chuckled Kyungsoo, patting Kai’s shoulder comfortingly, before he stood and headed out the door. “Besides…we know the truth – Hunhan isn’t real.”
Being left alone probably wasn’t the best idea, because despite Kyungsoo’s words of wisdom, Kai’s insecurities invaded his mind and ruthlessly attacked him. Scrunching up his eyes, he let lose a small whimper as the thought of losing Sehun haunted his mind.
“Kai…why are you sad?” Sehun asked softly, coming into the room and feeling his heart break as he caught sight of his lover curled up on the bed with a sorrowful expression on his face. “Is something the matter?”
After realising that Kai had left the room, without any explanation whatsoever, and seeing Kyungsoo come out of their bedroom with a troubled look on his face, Sehun had had the horrible sinking feeling that something was wrong with his boyfriend.
“I-I…just don’t want to lose you ever,” Jongin said brokenly, rolling over and looking up at him with reddened, puffy eyes. “Especially to Luhan.”
“You won’t lose me to Luhan-hyung,” Sehun gently chided, bending down and kissing Kai on the forehead. “We’re only friends.”
“Look at me, and promise me that Hunhan isn’t real,” Kai replied forcefully, sitting up and staring directly into his lover’s eyes. “That…we are real.”
“I love you, and only you,” Sehun murmured, finding his way into Kai’s welcoming lap, straddling his hips with a cheeky smile. “Do I really have to prove that?”
With a slow nod, Kai threaded his fingers into Sehun’s soft lock, relishing in the pure silky feel, and pulled him down for a kiss. Shivering from the delicious sensation of Sehun’s mouth moving against his own, Kai gently nibbled on his beloved’s lower lip, begging entrance.
He emitted a grunt of approval as Sehun’s lips parted, allowing him access and as their tongues wrestled for dominance, a silken duel that neither wanted to end. as Sehun shifted on his lap, accidentally rubbing their groins together, Kai ended the kiss, gasping for air as they moved apart.
He chuckled as his eyes trailed over Sehun’s mussed hair, stray locks falling over his half-closed brown eyes, before coming to rest upon his swollen red lips, parted slightly and curved into a cheeky smile. The gorgeous sight was simply arousing and it was made even more so by the fact that he’d done this to Sehun – not Luhan or anyone else.
“I think that I believe you now,” Kai whispered, his husky voice sending tingles of desire down Sehun’s spine.
And as Sehun leaned down and joined their lips together, Kai felt secure in the knowledge that Sekai is real and nothing could ever change that.
