They all got into Hyun Woo’s car and being the considerate best friend, Mi Young made Ji Hye sat in front, beside Hyun Woo. Ji Hye made a face but didn’t complain any further.

They talked about how their life had been, and Mi Young suddenly said that Ji Hye was married to Kai. Hyun Woo was shocked to death.

“Am I going out with someone else’s wife??!!!!” He half- shouted.

“Chill!  They didn’t do anything like they were supposed to. Kai obviously has someone beside him, though we didn’t know who she is.” Mi Young blurted out.

Hyun Woo’s once calmed face was gone.

Lucky for Mi Young, they’ve reached her house and she got out of the car after saying thank you, goodbye, and goodnight.

Ji Hye didn’t say anything, that it made Hyun Woo feel like he needed to start first.

“Who is Kai?” He asked. It was apparent that he was trying to calm down.

“We went to the same high school, but he didn’t know me.” Ji Hye replied calmly.

“When did you guys get married?”

“Hyun Woo, you need to-“

“He doesn’t love you, does he?”

Ji Hye kept his mouth shut. She hated that fact. Hyun Woo face palmed- he felt useless.

Kai arrived to the empty house. Without him realizing, he had been searching every corner of the house, just to catch a glimpse of Ji Hye but he failed.

“Where is she?” Kai sighed after talking to himself.

He was about to take his phone to call her when he heard the gate unlocked. He hurriedly went downstairs, only to see Hyun Woo standing in front of the gate while smiling at Ji Hye. Ji Hye smiled back at Hyun Woo, her hand on his arms, as if telling him that he had nothing to worry about.

“Is he at home?” Hyun Woo asked.

“I don’t think so.. he was on a vacation the last time I left this house.”

“So you haven’t been at home while he’s gone?”

“I wasn’t at home all this while.. It’s getting late, Hyun Woo. You should go home. Don’t worry about me, I’m doing fine. Thanks for sending me home, and nice to meet you again. Goodnight!” Ji Hye patted his cheek and was about to get into the house when Hyun Woo held her hand.

Both of them didn’t realize that there was someone who’s been watching intently behind the curtain.

“Can’t I… get a hug?” Hyun Woo said. Ji Hye smiled before turning her head at him.

“Of course, why not?”

With that, Hyun Woo opened his arms and Ji Hye get in the hug he was offering. His scent, his warmth, the feeling of security he gave her..

“Welcome back, Ji Hye.” Kai’s voice shocked them both. Ji Hye immediately released the hug, while Hyun Woo looked at her, slightly hurt.

“You two would make a good couple.” With that, Kai walked back inside the house.
