Tutorial 25: Light/Romantic Poster Tutorial
Gimp 101Poster Kit: DA // MF
Please note that I do NOT claim any of the photos, textures, brushes, or fonts as mine. They belong to their respective owners.
1. Install the brushes and the font that I have included in the poster pack if you haven’t done so already.
2. Open up a new canvas that is 500 x 600. Make sure the background is white.
3. Open up the following textures/images as layers in this order:
-EwJEA.jpg
-choi-siwon.jpg
-tumblr_lmh6duKugm1qglp8ko1_500.jpg
-127.png
-Yeahps1 (55).jpg
4. Click the eye beside the image to make the following images become transparent until we need them:
-choi-siwon.jpg
-tumblr_lmh6duKugm1qglp8ko1_500.jpg
-127.png
-Yeahps1 (55).jpg
5. Now resize EwJEA.jpg by scaling the image to 500 x 250. Make sure the link beside it is intact and not broken. Once the layer has been scaled down, move it to the bottom of the canvas. Here is what mine looked like after I scaled the layer and moved it down to the bottom of the canvas:
6. Now click on the eye next to Choi Siwon’s image and make him visible. Also make sure his layer is the active layer and highlighted in the layer palette. Scale his layer so that the height of his image is roughly around 500. Make sure the link is once again intact and not broken.
7. Once you’ve scaled his layer, click on the rectangle select tool and make a huge square around him. After making your selection, go up to Layer > Crop to Selection. My final image size was 427 x 506.
8. Now, add an alpha channel to his layer. Go up to the free select tool and make a selection around Siwon, it doesn’t have to be perfect but you want it to be about as close to his body as possible. After you have made your selection, go up to Select > Feather > Feather the selection
