Tutorial 17: Glowing Text

To this:
1. Open a new blank canvas that is 250 (width) to 100 (height). You can also do this on a poster if you want to.
2. Click on the text tool and type in the poster title or your username or whatever you want to say. Pick a very pretty color, don’t use your average black or white color. You want these colors to be pretty.
3. Make a duplicate of the text layer by right clicking and clicking on ‘Duplicate Layer.’
4. Click on the layer that is above the background and right click on it and select ‘Text Tool.’ Select the entire text and change the color of the text by clicking on the Color option in the Tool Options palette or by clicking the square on the Text Tool bar that hovers over your text box. Here is the square I’m talking about:
5. Make the new text color darker than the original color. You can also make it lighter, but make sure the color is similar to the original just a darker or lighter shade. You want to have a dewy effect with your text.
6. After changing the color, make sure you have the text layer above the background layer still selected. Go up to Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Try and match my settings:
7. Your text should have a glow about it if you have done it right. Here is what mine looke
