Tutorial 20: Picture Inside of Text
Gimp 101This tutorial is going to show you have to put a picture inside of your text, like this:
1. Go to the web and locate a picture you want to use. For this tutorial, I’m using this picture:
It doesn’t matter what image you want to use as long as it’s an image with lots of colors, people, or objects. Try and find a HQ picture that is in a .jpg or .png format and save it in your Pictures folder.
2. Open the image up in Gimp. Go to File > Open > Pictures (its located on the left on the side panel) > Click on the image you have saved.
3. Since my image is rather large, I’ve scaled it down to make it somewhat smaller. You don’t have to do this step if you don’t want to re-size your image. I also cropped the image some by cutting out their legs. Again, this step is purely optional.
4. Click on the text tool, try and use a normal font like Arial, Tahoma, Impact Condensed or Trebuchet MS. For this tutorial, I’m using Impact Condensed. Bold the font or choose a font that is already bolded, I know Arial and Trebuchet MS has a bold font already. Type in what you want to say on the image. For this tutorial, I used a red-ish font color so I can see where my text is. Try and choose a font color that doesn’t blend into the image. Don’t worry, you won’t see the color once you’ve finished this tutorial. Here is what my image looks like now:
