_Chapter 8_

Aiden and Kevin sat together on the bus, listening to music; is wasn’t long before the youngest pulled out a small note book and started writing in it

“What you writing?” Kevin asked in English

“Nothing…important…”

“Oh come on, tell me! I’m your twin aren’t I?”

“Yes, but this is a surprise….”

“You’re no fun…”

“Don’t worry. The wait will be worth it”

“Wait isn’t that the same note book you’ve always written in ever since we came to Korea?”

“Maybe….”

“….”

When the bus came to a stop Aiden closed the book and out it in the bag, “Come on Hyung” Kevin laughed when he took Aiden’s hand and ran into the school.

“Slow down Aiden!”

“Fine…” the two walked the rest of the way hand in hand; their bracelet’s colliding every so often

“Hey Kevin”

“Hmm?”

“Should we go to the cemetery…and say ‘hi’ to them?”

“That’s okay with me, since we don’t have to be home early since auntie and uncle are going out for dinner”

“Okay” they smile before letting go of each other’s hand and go to their seats.

“Hey Aid, what’s up?” Alexander asks, patting the teen back “You ready for baseball try-outs?”

“Heck yeah, I am totally ready”

“Good, I’ll be there to support you”

“Thanks Zander that means a lot to me” Aiden says smiling

“That’s what friends are for kid” he says playfully punching the latter before the teacher comes in and calls the class to quiet down.

As lunch comes around Aiden and Kevin eat together in the cafeteria this time around, “Aiden, isn’t this the table where we go in trouble with that one guy?”

“Yeah…and?”

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah, no one tells me what to do. Besides” Aiden looks around then whispers “Isn’t your boyfriend in that group? He’d tell him to back off” he says sitting down at the table

“Yeah about that….” Kevin says softly, sitting with his twin, “Our relationship is a secret to everyone else…you and Soohyun are the only ones who know about us”

“What??” they look at each other

“Yeah…so we should move” Kevin says looking up slightly and sees the group coming through his bangs

“And here I thought your boyfriend would at least get that Joon guy off our backs…”

“Aiden hush already”

“Anyways, I guess we could eat on the roof again…”

“Might as well since this is our table cutie…” Joon’s voice came from behind Aiden

“You know hyung…we should stay here instead….”

“Aiden!” Kevin hisses

“Yah, are you ignoring me?”

“I mean we’ve been eating on the roof, we should eat here” Kevin mentally face palmed and looked at Eli slightly and mouthed ‘Sorry about Aiden…’

‘It’s okay Kev’ Eli mouthed back with a small smile, the two stared for a while before he heard Aiden yell out in pain.

The elder looked to see Aiden holding his jaw “Aiden!” he yelled and examined the now bleeding jaw “Oh my god Aiden!”

“Hey! Keep your hands off of him!” they heard Sungmin yell, standing in front of them

“Yeah” Taemin says standing by the pink lover

“Aiden are you okay?” Ryeowook asks as he places an ice pack to the youngers mouth, Kevin turns to Joon to find him smirking

“What is wrong with you?!” he yells

“Hey, it’s what he gets for not listening”

“How dare you hit my little s-”

“KEVIN!” Aiden yells, despite the pain in his jaw “Stop…he was aiming for you. I took the hit…AISH!” he yells when Ryeowook touches his lip

“Sorry, come on, let’s eat in the classroom…” he says

“Have fun with that, and good luck on getting on the baseball team” Joon mocks and Sungmin turns around

“Come on” he says picking up three trays while Kevin grabs two and follows Ryeowook.

Taemin smiles softly at Minho until he heard Sungmin’s voice yell “Taemin!” and ran to catch up with them.

“Ow!” Aiden whined when Taemin and Ryeowook tried to get the swelling to go down, “Tae and Wookie hyung that hurts~!”

“Sorry, we are trying not to hurt you”

“So he was aiming for me?” Kevin ask in disbelief, the bunny nods

“When Joon caught you staring at Eli, he asked ‘What the hell you looking at?!’ and tried to hit you. Eli was standing behind Joon so he thought you were staring him down…that guy is out of control!” he yells the last part as Kevin blushed.

“Aiden I’m sorry…”

“It’s –ow- fine hyung…” Aiden says as Taemin applies medicine on his lip

“There….maybe you two should skip your next class and see the nurse, just to double check on your face…it’s starting to bruise up…”

“Okay…” the twins sighed

“You know…” Ryeowook starts, “Aiden is the first to stand up to Joon….before he was the leader he was feared by everyone…”

“That’s true…”

“Yeah, Aiden’s crazy”

“Yah! OW!” the four boys laughed at the younger whom pouted and gently rubbing his jaw

“I’ll find Mr. Jung and tell him we are going to the nurse and might be there a while” Kevin says standing

“No! What if that Joon guy tries to hurt you while I’m not around?” Aiden questions

“I’ll go with him” the bunny said standing, “I’m not afraid of Joon, I’ll protect your brother”

“Thank you Sungmin hyung”

“You’re welcome little bear” he says and walks out with Kevin

“How do you feel Aid?”

“A bit better….”

“I still cannot believe he called you that…” Ryeowook says

“Yeah, he scares me now….”

“Guys it’s okay…it may have been the first…but I promise you it will not be the last” Aiden said softly, trying to eat but winced

“Here, drink this” Tae says helping the teen drink the water

“Thanks TaeTae” Aiden smiled

“Aiden!” the three looked towards the door to see Eli, Yesung, and Minho enter and shut the door behind them

“E-Eli?”

“Yesung?”

“Minho?”

“Are you okay?” Eli asked looking at the youngers jaw

“Yeah, what are you guys doing here? Don’t you have a group to be in?”

“Here to check up on you, and no; Joon left school early because his parents needed him home…I’m sorry for not protecting your brother…” he whispered

“It’s fine” Aiden whispers back.

When Eli stands again the door opens to Kevin and Sungmin, “What are you three doing here??” Sungmin asks, glaring.

“Checking on Aiden…” Yesung said calmly

“Why would you?”

“Because we wanted to”

“Yeah, we felt terrible…even though we didn’t hit him we feel guilty…” Minho finished.

Kevin smiled softly and noticed the bell telling everyone class starts soon, “Let’s start heading to the nurses, Mr. Jung said someone will take notes for us…”

“Okay”

“I’ll walk with you two” Eli says and ignores the looks everyone but the twins gave him

“Let’s hurry, my mouth is throbbing”

“Minho, Yesung your crushes to their classes” Eli says before leaving, Ryeowook turns to find Yesung blushing, same with Minho and Taemin.

“Alright…that should help with the swelling…all your teeth are intact…only your lip and the inside of your cheek are cut so I suggest no solid food for at least three days, it will be difficult to eat solids for a while.” The nurse said then turns to Kevin

“Try to have him drink a lot of fluids; soup seems to be the best for now until further notice. After the three days have him eat a solid. If he cannot, wait a day or two okay?”

“Yes miss” Kevin says with a smile

“Here have him take these, I need to go on my break. I hope you feel better soon, good luck” she says with a smile and leaves the three alone.

“I have to go, I’ll walk you two home after Aid’s try out” Eli says kissing Kevin’s cheek, making Aiden gag

“Okay, see you then”

As soon as the door closes Kevin hands the younger the pills and water, “Drink this, it’ll help”

“I know…Kev”

“Hmm?”

“You almost spilled my secret….”

“Oh god…” he whispers “I am sorry…I don’t know what came over me…”

“You were mad, he punched me; it’s a part of your older brother instinct…” Aiden says taking the pills and drinks all the water, “Can you get me a refill?”

“Sure…”

“You know…even if you spilled…I wouldn’t be mad…”

“Really?”

“Yes”

The two smiled and talked for a while until they heard the bell, “Time to go”

“Right, off we go to vocal class!” Kevin laughs as his twin’s cuteness.

A loud whistle is heard across the field and everyone comes running in,

“Alright, for those who don’t know me I am coach Park, and this is Shin Dongho” the man says gesturing to the small boy next to him

“We will be watching you as you try out, so grab your gloves and head out to the outfield for fly balls!”

“Yes sir” was the reply before all the teens ran out.

“There’s Aiden!” Kevin yells as he sits in the stands with Sungmin and Ryeowook

“So he played baseball in America?” Minnie asked

“Yes, and when we moved here our aunts boyfriend practiced with him; I feel bad for whoever catches a throw from Aiden…”

“Why?”

“He throws hard…”

“It can’t be that bad”

“He bruised our aunt’s boyfriend’s hand…badly”

“Ohhh…” the two boys says  as they see the coach hit the ball and Aiden catches it and throws it into home with no bounce and the assistant coach yells out in pain from the catch

“Sorry!” Aiden yells, thinking he hurt him badly.

 As the day goes on Aiden had finally got the chance to hit, “Alright you get ten hits, on the tenth one you run and we’ll see if they can get you out”

“Yes sir” Aiden replied “I want to say sometime”

“What is it?”

“When I hit I usually hit up the middle….”

“Let’s see about that” the coach challenged with a smirk and got ready to pitch “Even if you do I’ll be able to dodge it, I have good reflexes”

Aiden nods and taps the bat at the far side and slides it towards him then stands up.

Cling!

The coach barely dodges as the ball goes over his head and into the outfield, “Nice shot” he says and grabs another ball, eight more hit and Aiden is ready to run.

As soon as the ball connected with the bat the teen took off and slid safely into second base, “Nice, a perfect head first slide too” the coach says as Aiden stands dusting off his shirt “Can you pitch?”

“A little bit, I mainly play anywhere but pitcher”

“We need a second pitcher, here; I’ll catch for you”

“O-Okay…” Aiden says taking off his helmet and gets his glove.

“Can you throw a slider?”

“Yes”

“Throw one” Aiden obeyed and got a nod from the coach

“Not bad, fastball”

Perfect

“Curveball”

Perfect

“Excellent” the coach says.

After having him pitch for a while the coach dismisses everyone

“Woo Jung-hwa, please come here” the coach says,

“Kev, take my bag please”

“Sure, I’ll meet you at the gate, hurry” Aiden nodded and ran over to the coach

“Yes sir?”

“I want you to come to practice on Friday” the coach says with a smile, “What number do you want?”

“Seven-teen please”

“Alright, you’re uniform will be here by Friday, our first game is on Saturday. Congrats kid, you made the team”

“Thank you so much sir!”

“Alright, you may go now” at this point Aiden could help but smile the entire time he ran to the gates.

Aiden forgot about the earlier events and the pain in his mouth, when he saw Kevin he sped up and jumped onto his brother “I made the team!!”

“Oh my god that is awesome!”

“Congrats Aid” Eli said patting the latter back

“Now get off me you smell” Kevin said scrunching up his nose and Aiden does so

“I am so happy!” he said jumping around in a circle like a girl

“Okay, okay we get it, come on we have to get going; you need to eat.”

“Race you home!”

“No!” Eli and Kev yelled together making Aiden pout then follow them at a normal pace.

“Eli hyung!” the said male turned to find a smaller figure walk towards them

“Hey Dongho, walking home too?”

“Yeah” he says catching up with them

“What’s wrong?”

“Some kid got on the team and is the second pitcher and possibly pitching the first game”

“Who?”

“Woo Jung-hwa”

“Aiden?”

“Yea”

“I didn’t think he could pitch”

“He has a good arm I have to say”

“Why don’t you tell him?”

“Why should I?”

“Just asking…”

“Eli” Kevin says and smiles and Dongho “Hi I’m Kevin, you must be Dongho”

“Yeah, so you’re Kevin; Eli hyung never shuts up about you”

“Really?”

“W-Well…I…Where’s Aiden?”

“He ran the rest of the way, he’s going to shower before he eats. Speaking of which do you want to stay for dinner? Our aunt and uncle are out on their date night”

“I can’t tonight I have to eat with my parents before they leave for their business trip tomorrow”

”Oh, okay maybe another time” Kevin said with a smile

“I promise” they share a hug and Kevin waves to Dongho one last time,

“It was nice meet you, good night you guys”

“Good night Kev, see you tomorrow” Eli said waving and watched Kevin run down the sidewalk them to a house and entered.

“You like him a lot don’t you hyung?”

“Don’t tell anyone okay?”

“Fine, let’s get home I’m hungry”

“Okay pup, let’s go”

“Hush pigeon!”

The elder laughed as they walked to his house.
