It has been almost a month since Aiden dropped out of school; after taking the finals and passed; thankfully.

And just as Kevin predicted Aiden hid herself in her room; she became distant from everyone; even Ken, whom still came to visit her. Every day after school he would come over, say ‘hi’ to Kevin and sit against her door and tell her about his day; and he knew she was listening even if she didn’t reply.

It was December 23^rd and Kevin invited Ken, Eli, Soohyun, Zander, and their families to come over the next day and spend Christmas Eve with them.

Everyone but Zander and his family couldn’t go; they had made plans already; Kevin told him it was alright and answered the door to find a smiling Ken with a bag with him

“Thanks again for letting me stay over”

“No…problem” Kevin said and finished his text and looked at the teen, “Come in” once inside Ken set his bag near the stairs

“I’m going to say hi to Aiden”

“Alright; she said she will come out later and sit with us”

“Really?? Awesome!” he said and hurried up the stairs.

Softly knocking on the door Ken sat near the door, “Hey Aiden; I’m here to stay the night, you know what that means right??”

“Party~~” Ken sang and leaned his head against the door; he heard soft thumps and the door unlocking; his eyes widened as he stood up

“Can I come in?”

“….N-Ne….” He heard Aiden say softly

“Okay, I’m coming in” he carefully opened the door and saw Aiden curled up in a ball in her bed; under the covers.

“Hey” Ken said softly and sat at the edge, patting where her head is

“..Hey…”

“Feeling better?”

“…I don’t know….” Ken looked around the room and now noticed the scattered papers, clothes, broken picture frames, etc.

“Here” Ken gently helped her sit up and saw no emotion in her eyes as she glanced at him “Maybe tonight and tomorrow will cheer you up, ne?”

She nodded slightly

“How’s your shoulder and leg?”

“Better…” she reaches over and takes a pain killer, “The healing process is quick…”

“Good” he said and found her sling and placed it on her, “I still cannot believe you are leaving next month….”

“I’ll come back….eventually…” she spoke softly as she watched him adjust the sling

“You better, or I’ll come and get you myself!” he joked, smiling

“Arasso, arasso…” she said and motioned him to move; she stands and groans in pain but walks with Ken’s help

Kevin smiles at them “Aiden, welcome back to the world”

“Oh hush you…” he laughs softly and helps Ken

“Feeling better?”

“…I guess”

“Good, because we are going to stay up until we crash! Tomorrow is Christmas eve~ so we can sleep in!”

Aiden forced a smile “Ne”

“Today we forget about the past, and think of the future; come on let’s eat”

The three teens ate dinner; Kevin and Ken talking while Aiden listened, eating quietly; she was glad that it was her left arm that is injured, or Kevin would have to feed her. She wasn’t happy with the fact she had to wear a sling, but she was happy that her left leg was only bruised and didn’t fracture anything.

“Vinnie…”

“Yes?”

“Did my letter come in yet?”

“Jasmine is supposed to bring it today or tomorrow”

“Oh what college are you two going to?”

“University at Buffalo…in New York….”

“Awesome Aid, major?”

“Something in the medical field and singing”

“Nice”

“What do you want to do first?”

“Watch a movie…”

“Okay, none specific?”

“Ne” Kevin nodded and went to find a good set of movies since they were going to be up for a while

After Aiden was finished Ken took her dishes and placed them in the sink

“Kennie I could have done it myself…”

“You are still hurt, you need to relax”

“Arasso” she said giving up and allows him to help her walk to the living room

“This will be fun, don’t worry about anything” Ken said and smiled before sitting on the couch with Aiden

“Okay first we will watch…Transformers, for action; then a few Christmas traditional movies then anything we want after that”

The three lay on the couch, all comfortable with heads or legs on laps and cuddling; being careful of Aiden’s shoulder

It was nearly midnight when Hyung-hwa told them to make sure to keep quiet and not cause any trouble; after getting his reply he wished them goodnight and left them to continue their sleep over.

Ken and Kevin stayed up while Aiden slept on the couch; the two males started wrapping their late presents together, talking on and on

“So” Ken started, “How are you and Eli?”

“Good; he is taking me out on new year’s. What are you doing?”

“I’m thinking of taking Aiden with my friends…if she feels up to it….hey…it that guy still mad at her”

“Dongho? Most likely, I’ve seen him every so often….but whenever I’m over I don’t see him…”

“…”

“Ken-”

“I don’t like him.” Ken said flatly, “I can understand being mad but not enough to break everything off…” he said placing a bow on the first beautifully wrapped present

“It was her choice…but I agree…” Kevin sighed, “Like she has said before; she never wanted to leave my side…mainly because of what happened nine years ago” Ken nodded, “She never wanted to leave my side…no matter what was thrown at her. After the first day she told me ‘If I have to go to a different school without you; I won’t go…I’ll pretend to be one of the guys…I don’t care what is said or thrown towards me I want to be with my brother…’”

At this Ken sighed softly, “I understand; so does everyone else; minus Joon and Dongho…”

Kevin nodded and looked at the clock; “Let’s hurry, it’s almost three in the morning…let’s just help Aiden forget for a while. Let her free her mind”

Ken nodded this time around and smiled “Yeah”

Unaware to them Aiden was awake and listening; they take out their sleeping bags and fall asleep instantly

“It should be for the best…” she whispers before finally falling asleep; having a peaceful dream.

“Why are we out here, its freezing” Aiden whined, brushing her bangs from her eyes with a gauzed covered hand

“It’s almost New Year’s, come on~” Ken said taking her hand and pulls her along the crowds until they reach a café, “What do you want to drink?”

“Hot chocolate…”

“Okay, wait right here, we have a good view for the fireworks”

“Ne” Aiden said; she sat and waited, watching couples walk around and try to find a good spot

“Here you go” she snapped out of her day dream and takes her drink

“Thank you” she says softly

“No problem….” He said, feeling a bit sad

“What’s wrong?”

“You know…”

“Kennie…I know you don’t like it…but I kind of promised already”

“I know…I just cannot believe tomorrow night is the day…”

“I promise I will come back soon…I’ll even call you ever night if you want me to”

“You better, or I will go and get you myself!” he said with a smile

“I will; I promise”

“Better” they continued to talk until Ken looked at the wall clock and smiles

“Two minutes!” he said gleefully and looked out the window they were in front of

“The light will be going off during the fireworks ladies and gentlemen” a worker said into a microphone as the light dimed until they were off; Aiden looked around then out the window and soon everyone in the café were counting down

1~!” everyone cheered and watched the firework display.

Ken and Aiden swayed side to side, sipping their drinks; “Happy New Year’s Aiden”

“Happy New Year’s Kennie” they hugged each other tightly before letting go and watched the rest of the fireworks.

It was two in the morning by the time they reached the Woo’s house “Thank you for today, I had fun”

“No problem” Ken said and kisses her head; a normal gesture between them, then ruffles her hair, “I’ll come back in a few hours; get some sleep ne?”

“Ne, see you in a few hour Kennie” the two smiled. Ken soon leaves and leaves Aiden to sleep for a few hours.

“DON’T GO I BEG OF YOU!!!” everyone in the airport turned and stopped and stared at a boy clinging to a smaller boy? They guessed

“Jaehwan-ah” Aiden whined hugging the boy who was clinging to her waist, back

“I promise to come back; I will call, video chat, whatever it is to keep in touch until then. I promise” Aiden said his hair

“Don’t go!” Ken cried out again

“Ken, stop it please…” Kevin said trying to pry the boy off his sister

“Aiden~”

“Kennie, please let go; I will come back”

“How soon?”

“Soon, I promise” Ken stood and hugged her tightly

“You better come back fast!”

“I will”

When Ken finally let go of her; Kevin hugged her around her shoulders and pats her head

“Take care please, Jasmine, if I see her harmed you will pay”

“Whatever, she will be with me; she will be safe”

“Gate A7 is ready to board” an employer says and Aiden pulls away

“I will be back; I promise. I love you guys”

“Love you too” Kevin said

“Love you sister” Ken said

“Hey she’s my sister”

“So? You can share”

Aiden smiled and hugged them both, “I will miss you two; I will return soon. I promise”

“We know…be safe; and have fun ne?”

“Yeah, maybe by then we will be idols~”

“And I will be looking forward to that-“

“Come on Aiden!”

“Bye” Aiden said before grabbing her suit case and follows after Jasmine as the board

Ken and Kevin stood side by side as they watched Aiden’s plane take off,

“Well, let’s go Ke-Are you really crying?” Kevin asked turning to said boy

“I miss her already!” he wails and hugs Vinnie, crying upon his shoulder

“She will be back. Now let’s get going; Eli and Soohyun are waiting for us” he said and dragged the crying teen away.

On their way back Ken had calmed down and stayed with Vinnie until night came and went home

Sighing Kevin walked up the stairs and stopped at Aiden’s room; looking inside he saw that she took everything she needed; and what was valuable to her.

In the center of the bed he found a silver necklace that he recognized instantly as the one Dongho gave her for her birthday; he picks it up and smiles slightly “Fighting…Aiden-ah” he whispered and placed the necklace on the night stand and goes to his own room to sleep

Knowing that she will be back soon and will keep in touch he fell asleep and prayed Aiden will be safe without him.
