End Part 2
You Got Me
The boys are separated from the girls.
The isle is on my right and Akira-chan is on my left. Asuna-chan is on the very first row so he’s very far from us. We’re two seats from
the back.
The ceremony started.
The dean gave his opening remarks.
What do I think about it?
Boring.
I looked at Asuna-chan. She’s pretty far away from me.
I can see that she’s happy right now. The fact that all of us are going to graduate answers it all.
I looked at Yamada-kun.
What’s wrong?
He’s somehow bothered.
He’s repeatedly looking at his phone.
Look at the speaker, his phone then tap his foot. Look at the speaker again, his phone and tap his foot.
Then he texted someone. And I immediately know to whom because Yaotome-kun didn’t turn his phone into silent mode.
All attention turned to him.
“*cough*cough*” the speaker, his left eyebrow curled.
Yaotome-kun immediately shut his phone then mouthed sumimasen to everyone.
I looked at him a little longer and he was shocked at what he read. His eyes widened. But a smile formed in his face.
I don’t know what it is but I know it’s from Yamada-kun.
I can smell something in here.
Akira-chan looked at her phone and she was very happy at what she read. I don’t know what it is.
“Dare?” I asked. (who is it?)
“Nothing. No one.” Her smile glued in her lips.
I looked at Asuna-chan again and I saw that she’s looking on her phone too.
What’s happening?
And then suddenly, Yamada-kun went out of the gymnasium.
Followed by Yaotome-kun and Asuna-chan.
“Gomenasai Koharu-chan, I have to go the ladies room.” Akira-chan said.
“Okay.” I replied.
I know something’s happening.
When Akira-chan was finally out of the gymnasium, I followed her.
And they’re all outside.
I was about to join their conversation when I heard his name.
“Yabu-kun is going to take the operation.” Yamada-kun said.
Yabu-kun.
Operation for what?
I had this urge to join them.
No.
I won’t join them.
I don’t care about him anymore.
I won’t join their conversation.
And I won’t let these wounds in my heart open again.
But I was stunned when I heard his name so I just stood at my position.
“Hontou! Thank God!! At last!” Akira-chan shouted.
“Should we tell Koharu-chan about it?” Asuna-chan asked.
I don’t know what happened but my feet moved on their own.
Towards them.
“Tell me what?” I asked.
They’re all shocked.
There was a moment of silence. They don’t know who should talk.
“Tell her already.” Someone behind me said.
It was Keito-kun with Freya-chan.
“Demo,” Yaotome-kun said.
“The doctor told me that the survival rate increasing by 2% depends on the willpower of the patient.” Yamada-kun started.
“And I think Yabu-kun’s willpower will increase if he has Koharu-chan beside him. So I guess we don’t have a choice.” He continued.
“Operation? Yabu-kun? Can someone please tell me what’s happening here?” I asked.
I’m really confused.
Yabu-kun is going to take an operation? But he was perfectly healthy when he left me.
“I’ll do it.” Akira-chan said.
She looked at me and took a deep breath.
“He is going to have an operation in 45 minutes. 20% chance of survival or maybe 22% when you’re with him.” She said.
My eyes widened.
“He has brain tumor.” She said.
I..I don’t know what to do.
I can feel tears forming but I fought it.
I promised myself to forget him.
Or even think of him.
“That’s the reason why he left you.” Yaotome-kun said.
Reason? How come?
But I don’t care.
“Is that so?” I said without any emotion.
I can see that they’re all shocked at what I said.
“Koharu-chan,” Asuna-chan said sadly.
“Let’s go back. They’re starting to call names.” I said then went back inside the gymnasium.
Yesterday, I promised myself that I would never think of you again.
And I’m planning to fulfill that.
I went back to my seat.
They’re already on the second row in calling names to go on the stage.
And I saw that Akira-chan and the others also went back to their seats.
I’m strong now.
I won’t go to you Yabu-kun.
