Keito’s POV

8 pm. I need to do this alone. But I will surely die.

I have to think.

Think.

Think.

Baka! I forgot I’m the leader of the strongest gang in Japan.

“Moshi-moshi. Yuzu desu. My friend was kidnapped by Serpent’s gang. We need to save her. So here’s the plan.”

I told Bill-kun, the next in the rank to me, the plan.

Freya’s POV

I think I made the wrong move.

I shouldn’t have asked his help. He’ll be in a lot of trouble.

We’re here in an indoor tennis court.  There are 8 people guarding me. And approximately a lot more outside.

I was looking for Yuzu-kun. Keito-kun’s cousin who is a leader gangster. But unfortunately, I found his rival. And this guy wants to steal

the throne.

And why the hell am I here? Bait.

It’s 10:30 pm in the clock on top of the door at my left.

“Call him again.” I told one of the guys.

I’m going to tell him not to come and I’m okay.

“Call Keito-kun again.” I pleaded.

I’m ready to die now. With all the bad things I’ve done, this is not enough.

“Who’s Keito?” One asked.

“The one you called earlier.” I said

“His name is not Keito. He’s Yuzu. Baka.” Another said.

Yuzu. Keito.

“The one I talked to earlier?” I asked. “His name is Yuzu?”

“Hai. The leader of our rival gang.”

Yuzu and Keito are the same?!

What the hell!! So the one I’m looking for is right there with me!

Baka. I can’t involve him into this. I have to fix all of these on my own.

But can I?

“He’s not coming.” I told them.

But instead of putting their attention to me. All their attention was on the guy who just arrived.

Tall. On suit. Blonde and with a scar from the tip of his right eyebrow slanted down to his left cheek. He’s handsome. Even with that

scar on his face.

They all bowed to him as he passes them by. He’s the guy who called Keito-kun earlier.

He grabbed me by the hair. And with my instincts, I kicked him in the knee causing him to kneel in front of me.

“Serpent-sama!” the others shouted.                           

He stopped them from coming any nearer by raising his hand.

My hands are tied. He stepped both on my feet and held me in my chin.

He’s so strong. I can feel his strength. I can’t struggle. I feel so weak.

“Don’t do anything that can cause your own death.” He said to me then he let go.

But befor he can even turn I spoke.

10:45 pm.

“He’s not coming.” I told the snake guy.

“He will. I know him more than you do.” He said.

“He’s not coming. I assure you.” I said.

“And why wouldn’t he?” he asked.

“Because he doesn’t care about me.” I told him.

“That guy’s heart is very soft. That’s why it doesn’t fit him to be a gangster. And much more, a leader.” He said with a smirk.

“He’s not coming. He hates me.” I said.

I know it sounds weird but I’m crying at my own words.

“He hates me. I’ve hurt all the people around him. He treats me as nothing. He sees me as nothing. All the things I do, in his eyes, they're

mistakes. Even though I’m doing things for him, he doesn’t appreciate it.” I said while tears are continuously flowing from my eyes.

“You like that bastard? Hahaha!! Who are you? Star crossed lovers? Hahahaha!!Old school!” he shouted.

“That’s why I told you he’s not coming!” I shouted.

10:59 pm

We’re all looking at the clock.

11:00 pm

I’m both happy and sad. Ambivalent. Haha. Sad because of the fact the he didn’t come to my rescue. And happy because even once in

my life, I’ve felt that something went right. He didn’t come therefore, he wouldn’t die.

I smirked at Serpent-san.

“I told you he’s not coming.” I said.                                                  

“Who told you I’m not coming?”

We all looked back at the door.

And there he stood. With scratches and wound all over his body.

“Sorry I’m late. I had a hard time beating all those guys outside.” He said with his eyes on me.

“As expected. Don’t let him come near here.” Serpent ordered.

4 people went to him and held his arms.

“11:00 pm. That’s what I told you. Ne?” Serpent-san said.

“It’s just 5 minutes!” Keito-kun said.

“Late is late.” He said with a smile on his face.

Serpent-san snapped his fingers and the remaining four guards went in position to the other side of the court with their rackets.

“One by one.” Sepent san said.

“No. You’re not doing that Serpent.No.no.” Keito-kun said.

“Go.” Serpent-san said.

A tennis ball hit me at my shoulder.

“No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Keito-kun shouted.

“Da..Daijobou da.” I sai d to him and I forced a smile.

Another hit me at my stomach.

I spit the blood out and looked at him.

I can see his eyes filled with concern and worry.

“Stop!!!!You told me you won’t hurt her!” He shouted as he struggle with the four guys holding him back.

“But you’re late.” Serpent-san said.

Serpent motioned for another shot but I was surprised that it didn’t me.

I raised my head to look for where it hit.

But I saw Keito-kun in front of me.

I looked at the four guys guarding him and they we’re all down.

He turned to me and I can see blood flowing from the tip of his right eyebrow.

“Keito-kun…” I said as tears flow from my eyes.

“Daijobou ka?” He asked me.

“Baka!! Why did you do that?!” I shouted.

He didn’t answer. He turned again to the guys with rackets.

“Is that all you’ve got??! You’re all so weak! Can’t it get any stronger??” Keito-kun said pissing them off.

“Keito-kun, stop it.”  I said.

“That’s all?” he shouted again.

Then we heard a snap and I closed my eyes and prepared myself for the pain.

But Keito-kun kneeled in front of me then  hugged me.  Protecting me from all the tennis balls.

“They’re so weak ne?” he asked playfully while hugging me.

“Haha. I thought I won’t make it.” He said as balls continue to hit his back.

“What are you laughing about?” I asked.

“You don’t have to do this! Just let me be killed here!” I shouted angrily while the tears continue to flow.

“Who the hell would” he stopped as he endures the pain in his back.

“do that to someone like you.”  He continued as he remove the rope in my hands.

“Keito-kun.” I said while tears don’t stop.

“You have to escape here.” He said.

“When you manage to get out, Bill-kun is waiting for you. The police--.” He said.

“I won’t leave you.” I told him.

Why is he doing all of these?!

 “You need to!! Listen Freya-chan,”he looked at me.

“I won’t leave you!!!” I said.

 “This is nothing.” He said. “Please stop crying.” He pleaded.

“Who would not cry in this situation?!” I asked.

Then the guys stopped.

“I wa…” Keito-kun said all his energy drained.

“I want…to see your smile.” He continued.

He held my hand.

I forced a smile. I want to give everything to you.

“I don’t want a forced smile. I want a natural smile. So promise me that you’ll get out here alive.” He said.

“I’ll promise, only if you will too.” I said.

“Promise.” He said.

“I love you.” I told him.

He looked at me and then smiled.

I ran. I glance back at him. He’s now trying to stand from kneeling.

And with all the strength I got, I went out of the court and ran as fast as I could.

I trust you Keito-kun. I trust you.

I don’t need you t love me back. Being able to tell you is enough. So I won’t regret anything later on.
