Chapter 7
Seoul, SaranghaeDown the hall from the dance room, the maknaes were getting acquainted. Miyoung seemed to have no interest in practicing singing, and if it were up to him, Minhwan would want to just sit around and do nothing too. However, Minhwan wanted to do his best to try and help FNC's newest family member, so he attempted a different approach. He had gotten her to sit on the floor, although it was surprisingly difficult to get her to stay still, and paced back and forth in a straight line in front of her.
"Alright, so idol 101!" Minhwan hit his fist against his palm, all business. "What do you think is the most important thing for an idol?"
"Oppa, are you close with the CN Blue sunbaes?" she asked, ignoring his lesson intro.
Oppa? Minhwan thought unhappily, Since when were we that close? He sighed submissively, but decided to ignore her question as well. "Wrong answer. Fans. Fans are the most important thing. Without your fans, you are nothing."
"Do you think we'll get a fan club name soon?" she asked, and Minhwan was glad that at least her question was relevant to the topic he was trying to teach.
"Maybe, but you have to earn fans first. Which brings me to the next point," he held up his finger, "Connection with fans is key. How do you think you could stay close to your fans?"
Miyoung shrugged. "Fan meets?"
"Yes, but you only have fan meets every once and a while." He paused for a moment, and when she didn't seem to have any other answer, he continued. "S-M-S," he sounded out each letter, emphasizing each one with his finger, "Social media services."
Minhwan trailed off about twitter this and selcas that, and Miyoung just puffed her cheeks out, uninterested in what he was saying. She could imagine Minhwan dressed up like an old teacher writing notes on a chalkboard, and the thought made her laugh.
"What's so funny?" he asked, wondering why he was interrupted.
"Nothing~" she said, "Oppa, do you do acting too? You're really dramatic."
Minhwan frowned, "What's that supposed to mean?"
Miyoung didn't answer, still seemingly off in her own world. "Oppa, you sing right? We should do a duet or something! Like Juniel unnie!" she said excitedly.
"I don't think so," Minhwan said, wondering why it was so hard to get her to just sit still and concentrate.
"Wah~ Yonghwa oppa is so cool, his charisma is really no joke," she gushed, clasping her hands tightly together.
"You know, you're not going to make it very far in this business if all you do is fawn over you coworkers," Minhwan sighed.
As if on cue to prove his point, Seunghyun walked into the practice room and Miyoung waved excitedly at him. "Hi oppa!"
He waved back at her. "Minhwan-ah, we're all going to get lunch now if you guys want to come."
Minhwan was about to reply when Miyoung cut him off. "That sounds great!" she said, hopping to her feet and running to Seunghyun's side.
Seunghyun laughed. "She's just like you, Minhwan, getting all excited over food."
"No she's not," Minhwan muttered under his breath, not liking the comparison to his slacker of a student, "She's probably more excited about you than the food anyways."
"Our groups should have lunch together often, okay?" Miyoung said, neither of them hearing Minhwan's grumbles, "Five Treasure Love, hwaiting! No, that's not quite right... Under Cover Island? Ah, or maybe–"
"Let's just go," Minhwan led the way
