Chapter 21
Seoul, SaranghaeHeads, I'll scold her. Tails, I'll just make her feel guilty.
Minhwan twirled a coin between his fingers as he walked through the hallways of the FNC studio, deciding he would leave his approach to dealing with Miyoung's irresponsible behavior up to chance. She had skipped practice the other day, and as much as Minhwan knew he needed to reprimand her for it, he just wasn't good at that kind of thing. He wasn't good at being mean.
"Oppa!" Miyoung called out as soon as he walked in, "I'm really tired. Let's not have practice today, arasseoyo?"
Minhwan had arrived at the dance room, only to find Miyoung packing up her things after a session with their choreographer. "What?" he asked in surprise, "But what about–"
Before he could even object, Miyoung waved to him and disappeared down the hallway.
Minhwan frowned, slipping the forgotten coin back in his pocket. He was really getting fed up with Miyoung's poor attitude towards being an idol. She was soon going to be a prominent figure in the public eye, and she needed to carry the responsibility of being a role model. How was she supposed to do that when she couldn't even adhere to a simple practice schedule? If she wasn't going to be serious about being a musician, why would she sign up to be a trainee in the first place?
Minhwan shook his head in disbelief, letting out a puff of air. The more he thought about it, the more it frustrated him. This was the last straw. If Miyoung wasn't going to put any effort into her debut, why should he? At this point, why should he even bother at all? He had tried to talk some sense into her before, but clearly she didn't want to listen to him. Maybe it was about time she got a mentor that could handle her better. Minhwan's mind was made up; he was done.
Gritting his teeth, he walked out of the practice room just as Yoonho came walking down the hallway.
"Yoonho hyung, I was just coming to look for you," Minhwan called his attention, "I need to talk to you about this whole mentor thing."
"What is it?" Yoonho asked, slowing his steps as he approached.
"I don't think I can do it anymore," said Minhwan, shaking his head resignedly.
Yoonho looked at him, "What do you mean? There are only a couple of weeks left until their debut, and with d-day drawing near your help is more crucial than ever."
"I'm serious; get someone else to mentor Miyoung. Do whatever you need to do, but there's really nothing else I can do for her if she's going to be like this," he sighed.
"I thought you were more mature than this, Minhwan," his manager frowned, "Giving up just because you
