Chapter 12
Seoul, Saranghae"Oh, there he is," Seunghyun pointed out the window. FT Island had been waiting in their manager's van. All five of them were supposed to be heading back to the studio for group rehearsal, but Jaejin hadn't returned yet.
Jaejin finally came jogging out to the van, and he quickly hopped inside.
"Where were you?" Jonghun asked.
Jaejin shifted uncomfortably in his seat, then looked away. "Oh, nowhere... Sorry I kept you guys waiting."
FT Island glanced around at each other, deciding not to push the matter any further. It was quiet on the drive back to the studio, and Jaejin knew it was probably because of the air of mystery circling around him like a suffocating cloud. "Jaejin-ah~," Jonghun began, a grin creeping across his face. Hongki smiled as well, and Minhwan bit his tongue to hold in his laughter. "Is there something you want to tell us?"
They all laughed, but Jaejin's face was noticeably darker than his smiling band mates. He simply looked down at his guitar as he adjusted the shoulder strap, shaking his head. His cold shoulder was practically enough to drop the temperature in the room a few degrees. Suddenly sensing the change in atmosphere, Jonghun changed the subject. "Alright...come on guys. Let's run through 'Paper Plane' once more."
After a moment, everyone shuffled back to their instruments, and Jaejin still hadn't looked up from his guitar. Jonghun leaned closer to his ear so that the others wouldn't hear.
"If you want to talk to me later, you know my door's always open," he said quietly.
Jaejin turned his head slightly towards him, keeping their conversation excl
