Chapter 10
Seoul, SaranghaeOne day after getting home from practice, Jonghun had barely enough time to settle down onto their dorm couches before Hongki's sigh interrupted his relaxation.
"I don't know what to do," Hongki shook his head slowly, "Yoonhee still wants to do a duet with me, but I really just don't know if I can work with her. The more I'm around her, the more I notice all these little things that they have in common."
"Hongki, I know you have a lot of bad memories about that noona, but Yoonhee isn't her. You're only noticing all these similarities because you're telling yourself how alike they are," Jonghun tried to convince him, though Hongki still wasn't so sure, "If you can just get past that, Yoonhee's a nice person. I'd bet working with her really wouldn't be that bad."
"I don't know. We'll see, I guess," Hongki replied dismally as the other members joined them.
"I kind of hope Haeyoung will ask me to do a duet with her," Jonghun pondered, "She's really quite talented."
"What about you, hyung? How's working with Eunji so far?" Seunghyun asked, turning to Jaejin.
"It's...interesting," he glanced away.
"You guys still seem awkward. You should try spending more time together," Jonghun suggested, but Jaejin just grimaced.
"I don't think her and I in the same room is a very good idea," he said, shaking his head.
"Well, glad to hear I'm not the only one that doesn't like this," said Minhwan, "I've been spending too much time with that Miyoung girl. I seriously can't handle her."
"I thought you two got along well. You're always together," Seunghyun noted, and Minhwan pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger.
"Not by choice," he grumbled, "She's just clingy."
With how many problems the other members seemed to be having as mentors, other than Jonghun who seemed to be off in his own happy-go-lucky world with a partner that had no flaws in his eyes, Seunghyun was kind of glad he wasn't a part of it all. As he sat in his bedroom that night, Seunghyun his laptop to check his email. As their schedules continued to get busier, he and Natalie had practically abandoned video chatting since they usually just didn't have the time anymore. That was okay though; Seunghyun knew the waiting would pay off eventually, and he still enjoyed reading her emails in the mean time.
Their messages to each other were pretty typical, but talking about their daily lives was just their way of keeping each other in the loop. It might not have been much, but it helped settle the undying curiosities like 'I wonder what he's doing now' or 'I wonder if she's even thought of me lately'. As he logged into his email, he smiled as he opened a new message from Natalie. It was the usual – school life is stressful, Mimi is a dork, how are the guys doing?, I miss you. But part of the email caught Seunghyun's attention
