Kyungsoo took his hand and then Joonmyun stood up and pulled him along.

“Slow down!” Kyungsoo said stumbling along.

Joonmyun turned around and smiled at him. This is the happiest he’s felt in a long time.

They returned to Joonmyun’s office where Kai, Tao and Xiumin mauled Kyungsoo into a hug and the others greeted Joonmyun with one.

They all decided that some much needed rest was needed and then the next day would be left for questions and answers because the day was a long one.

They all sat together in a small restaurant for lunch the next day.

“So are you really deaf?” Xiumin asked from across the table.

Kyungsoo nodded. “Even if I can’t hear you, I know what you’re saying.”

“This is definitely mind blowing.” Lay said.

“Yeah I know. Who would’ve guessed someone with a voice as great as yours is deaf.” Kris added.

Kyungsoo blushed at the compliment.

“Are you two together now then?” Luhan asked with a cheeky smile.

Joonmyun and Kyungsoo looked at each other for a second and Joonmyun shook his head no. “I don’t think I’m worthy enough to be together with him yet.”

“Joonmyun…”

“I have plans to make it up to him.” Joonmyun said turning to him with a smile.

“And how do you plan on doing that?” Kai asked.

“It’s a secret!” Joonmyun smiled. “But I think we’re all done here, so if you guys don’t mind, I am taking Kyungsoo on a date.” Joonmyun took Kyungsoo and rushed out of the restaurant.

“How are you going to make it up?” Kyungsoo asked curiously.

Joonmyun threw his arm around him. “I have a special trip planned for us.”

Joonmyun and Kyungsoo arrived at the airport early in the morning only to be greeted by all of their friends.

“What are you guys doing here?” Joonmyun asked surprised.

“Did you really think you could travel to America without us?” Kris smirked.

“Especially with you and Kyungsoo alone? I don’t think so.” Kai added.

“How did you find out?” Joonmyun asked, but probably already knew the answer.

“You forget who does everything for you.” Xiumin said smirking.

“I figured.” Joonmyun said rolling his eyes.

“Let’s get going!” Luhan said excitedly.

“Why are we even going to America?” Lay asked.

Even Kyungsoo shrugged. “I don’t even know why either. I was just dragged here.”

“It’s a surprise!” Joonmyun exclaimed. “Let’s just get on the plane and go to sleep. We have a long trip.”

Kyungsoo stared out the window of the airplane as they flew over the ocean. He felt a hand grip his and looking over, Joonmyun smiled at him. “You’re not sleeping?”

Kyungsoo shook his head. “I’m just thinking.”

“A penny for your thoughts?”

“I doubt you would have one.” Kyungsoo giggled. “I’m just thinking about everything that has happened so far.” Kyungsoo let his head fall onto Joonmyun’s shoulder. “Do you think it’s fate that we met?”

Joonmyun let his head fall onto Kyungsoo’s and nodded slightly.

After a few minutes of being comfortable, Joonmyun nudged Kyungsoo a little.

“I’m glad I met you. You’ve changed my life in such the smallest ways. You made into a better person.” Joonmyun chuckled a little. “You’ve shown me how to care for someone. You’ve shown me how not to be selfish. You’ve shown me so much and you haven’t even done anything.” Joonmyun’s eyes became a little glossy. “You’ve become someone special to me and I’m glad that somehow we’ve met.”

Kyungsoo giggled a little. “You’re the one who stalked me remember?”

“Hey! I had good reason okay.” Joonmyun said smiling. Kyungsoo nudged him playfully as he let his head rest on his shoulder again.

“I suppose I’m glad you did.”

Joonmyun smiled. He released Kyungsoo’s hand and intertwined their fingers instead. He smiled when Kyungsoo gave a slight squeeze of approval.

They landed in Los Angeles and headed for a hotel. “Do we even need to figure out rooms?” Joonmyun asked and everyone shook their heads except…

“But I can’t stay with Luhan!” Xiumin exclaimed.

“And why not baozi?” Luhan asked with a smile.

“Because… Because…”

“Because nothing.” Joonmyun interrupted. “I’ve only asked for four rooms so have fun!” He quickly handed Xiumin a key card and rushed with the others to their rooms, leaving Xiumin and Luhan standing in the lobby.

“Don’t you want to go and sleep?” Luhan said with a cheeky smile.

Xiumin sighed in defeat as he followed Luhan to their room.

“So we’ve never talked about that one night.” Luhan said settling down in their shared hotel room.

“What night?”

“You know, the one where you took me home and kissed me.”

Xiumin stared at him in shock. “Y-you were drunk! You weren’t supposed to remember!”

“I don’t think 20 shots of water will get me drunk.” Luhan smirked.

“You were faking it?! I should’ve known!” Xiumin put on an angry face as he was about to storm out of the room, but then a pair of arms wrapped around him.

“Oh baozi, why are you getting so angry.” Luhan said snuggling his face into Xiumin’s back.

Xiumin was getting flustered by the intimacy. “We-well I—well”

“Just admit that you like me.”

Xiumin sighed. “I like you alright!” He practically yelled with a red flush on his face.

Luhan smiled at the confession. He unwrapped his hands and playfully slapped Xiumin’s . “Now let’s go to sleep shall we.”

“Yah! Keep doing that and I won’t like you!” Xiumin yelled at him.

They all met up in the morning for breakfast. The group watched as Luhan limped towards the table.

“Oh god.” Kris exclaimed.

“They….” Lay and Kai couldn’t help but laugh.

“Why is Luhan limping?” Kyungsoo asked innocently.  Joonmyun shook his head. “It’s better if you don’t know.”

Luhan sat down carefully and cheerfully greeted all of them. Xiumin sighed as he saw his newly found boyfriend struggle a bit with his backside. “Sorry.” Xiumin whispered to him.

Luhan just smiled. “You kidding me? That was the best I’ve had in a long time.” He said loud enough for the whole table to hear. Xiumin buried his face in his hands to save himself from the embarrassment.

“So, are you going to tell us now what we’re doing here?” Kai asked.

“Yes. We’re here because Kyungsoo is going to get his hearing back.”

The others stared at him for a second trying to process what he had just said.

“What are you talking about Joonmyun?” Kris said.

“Well I did research and there is this doctor here who has had successful surgeries that implant a device in the ear for people to regain their hearing. It only works on people who had their hearing before and lost it as they were growing up and so I thought it’d be perfect for Kyungsoo.” Joonmyun said smiling.

“Did I read your lips correctly? Did you just say I’m getting my hearing back?” Kyungsoo spoke in disbelief. Joonmyun happily nodded his head and the next thing he knows he is being pulled into a hug by a crying Kyungsoo. Joonmyun smiles as he accepts the hug.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Kyungsoo cries out. He released him from a hug and playfully hits his chest. “You stupid, you don’t have to do this.”

Joonmyun laughed. “I know, but this is all part of me making it up to you.”

“Group hug!” Luhan yelled out, running to hug Joonmyun from behind. All the others gathered and joined in.

“I suppose I don’t hate you that much anymore.” Kai said, causing everyone to laugh.

----

The preliminary diagnosis came out good and Kyungsoo became eligible for the surgery. The next day came the 5 hour surgery.

Kyungsoo was laying down on a stretcher looking up at his friends.

“Everything is going to be okay.” Kai said gripping his hand.

“We’ll be right here when you come out.” Tao assured.

The others also gave words of encouragement. Last but not least was Joonmyun. The others left them a little time to themselves. Joonmyun gripped one of his hands with both of his.

“Don’t be scared.” Joonmyun said.

“I’m not.

“It will be okay.”

“I know.”

“Everything will be fine.”

“I know.”

“You won’t feel anything.”

“I know.”

“I—“

“Joonmyun. I’ll be fine.” Kyungsoo said staring up at him.

Joonmyun smiled because Kyungsoo’s voice calmed him down.

“Wait for me.” Kyungsoo said letting go of his hands. Joonmyun nodded as he watched them roll him off.

----

The doctor came out to all of the guys sitting impatiently. They immediately stood up as he came out.

“The operation was a success.” With that they all jumped and cheered happily. “He should be waking up shortly, but I suggest you go in one at a time. So whoever would like to be first, please follow me.”

“I think we all know who should be first.” Kris said.

“Yeah, go ahead Joonmyun.” Kai said nudging him.

“Are you sure?” He asked them.

They all nodded. “You deserve it.” Tao said patting him on the back.

Joonmyun smiled as he followed the doctor into the room.

Kyungsoo looked peaceful laying on the bed as Joonmyun walked in. He sat down next to him, gripping his hand and waited for him to wake up.

Kyungsoo’s eyes fluttered open as they adjusted to the room’s light. He felt a slight pressure on his hand and looked over to see Joonmyun’s eyes beam with happiness. A smile spread across his face as he gripped Joonmyun’s hand back.

Kyungsoo waited for Joonmyun to say something to see if the surgery was a success, but something else caught his ear. It was the beeping of his heart monitor.

He could hear the beeping.

His eyes watered as he smiled. “I can hear.” Kyungsoo whispered. “I can hear.” He repeated more excitedly.

He sat up and gave Joonmyun a hug. “I can hear!” He said as he wept into his shoulder.

“I’m so happy for you.” Joonmyun said tightening the hug.

Kyungsoo pulled back and wiped the tears from his eyes. “You know, your voice is much different than I thought it would be.”

Joonmyun chuckled. “Oh really? And what do you think of it?”

“It’s much ier.” Kyungsoo said laughing. Without much hesitation, Kyungsoo planted a kiss on Joonmyun’s lips.

Joonmyun was taken aback by the sudden action, but happily accepted it, by kissing back. It was a little messy considering it was Kyungsoo’s first real kiss, but it full of passion and care.

“Should we come back or…” Xiumin said interrupting.

“I heard that!” Kyungsoo said more excitedly than annoyed.

The whole group came in and happily hugged him, all speaking so that Kyungsoo would get used to their voices.

Luhan asked who’s voice was the best.

Kyungsoo didn’t hesitate in saying Joonmyun’s.

Joonmyun couldn’t help but to agree.

----

“Where are we going?!” Kyungsoo called out.

Joonmyun was walking behind him with his hands over his eyes leading them somewhere.

“Just hold on! We’re almost there. Okay on the count of three. One. Two. Three!”

Joonmyun removed his hands to reveal his present for Kyungsoo.

“Wh-what is this?” Kyungsoo stuttered as he started at the building in front of him.

“Your new Do Donuts Café!” Joonmyun said excitedly.

Kyungsoo turned around and hugged him.

“I’m going to assume you like it?”

“I love it! You know you spoil me too much.” Kyungsoo said as he gave him a kiss.

“That’s only because I love you.” Joonmyun said giving him another kiss.

“I love you too.”
