“Oh… Excuse us guys.” Kai said pulling him out of the room.

“What was that about?” Joonmyun asked. The others just shrugged because they were as confused as he was.

Kai pulled Kyungsoo to the opposite side of the boat. “What happened?” Kai asked turning to face him.

“I had a dream, well more like a nightmare.” Kyungsoo said softly.

“And what happened?”

“There was…fire…all around me. I was scared. And… and I heard… screaming.” Kyungsoo’s eyes shifted away from Kai as he started to tear up.

Kai was silent as he wiped away his tears. Kai knows exactly what the nightmare was referring too, but he was wondering why he was having them now, out of all the times he could have had them, why now. He didn’t question it any further as he pulled him into a hug.

They stayed like that for a while as Kai rubbed circles into his back and lightly ran his fingers through his hair.

Kai heard a small cough coming into the room and looked up to see that it was Joonmyun. He didn’t think that he was as much as a douche as he was before because when Kyungsoo passed out, Joonmyun took good care of him. But Kai still didn’t like him.

“Yes?” Kai spoke releasing Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo turned around to see Joonmyun smiling with relief that he was okay.

“Oh well, I was just wondering if Kyungsoo was okay.” He said kind of shyly.

“I’m fine.” Kyungsoo said. “Thanks for asking.”

“Can I uh, talk to him alone?”

Kai looked back and forth between the two. Kyungsoo gave him a small nod and he sighed. “Alright, but I’ll be outside. If he does anything funny, just yell.”

Kyungsoo smiled and nodded as Kai left the room.

“I was worried about you.” Joonmyun said walking over towards him. Kyungsoo sat down in a chair and Joonmyun sat in front of him. “You really scared me when you fainted.”

“I’m sorry.” He quietly said.

“I was especially scared when you were having that nightmare. I was yelling and shaking you, but you wouldn’t get up.” Joonmyun said full of worry.

Kyungsoo smiled at him. “I’m fine now. Thank you.”

“Do you want to talk about it?”

Kyungsoo shook his head. “It’s alright. I’m okay now.” Kyungsoo stood up to leave.

“Wait!” Joonmyun said extending his hand out. “Uhm, look. I know that we’ve gotten off to a weird start, so I’m hoping that we could start over, without, you know me forcing you into a date.” He said shyly as he fiddled with his pants pockets.  “So I’m just wondering, will you go on a date with me?”

Kyungsoo looks at him a little confused. “Why?” He asks. He certainly wasn’t anyone’s type. He was kind of short, his hair wasn’t always the best, his skin wasn’t flawless, his eyes pop out of his head every second of the day, and he was poor. Why would someone like Joonmyun want anything to do with him?

“Because…I like you.” He said quietly, but Kyungsoo knew what he said.

“Why?” He asks again because Kyungsoo thought that someone liking him was near impossible.

Joonmyun was a little stumped by this question because maybe he didn’t know the answer himself. “How about, after the date, I tell you.” He said smiling.

Kyungsoo couldn’t help but smile too.

“Come on.” Joonmyun said extending his hand. “I’m sure the others are worried about you too.”

Kyungsoo took his hand as he led them out of the room. He smiled as he felt how soft his hands were. It was nice, he thought.

They came back into the room where everyone was, relieved to see that Kyungsoo was smiling.

“Well since everyone is feeling better, let’s go Xiumin!” Luhan said pulling him along.

“Yah! I don’t want to go anywhere with you!” He said trying to pull his arm back, but Luhan was really strong.

“Struggle all you want baby, you’ll never get rid of me.” Luhan said with a little slap to the .

Xiumin turned around with a look of horror, trying to search for help from Joonmyun. He only shrugged and waved him off. He feels like it is what he deserves for not being a good assistant.

“Stop touching me you freak!” Xiumin yelled on his way out.

Lay pulled Kai out of the room also. “I want alone time so come on.”

“But—“ Kai tried to protest.

“No buts! Kyungsoo will be fine.”

Kai sighed as he glanced over his shoulder to see Kyungsoo waving at him. “I suppose so.” Kai whispered to himself.

Kyungsoo turned towards Joonmyun who was looking at him and smiling. “How about we go to the pool hmm?” Joonmyun suggested.

“Uhm…” Kyungsoo turned away with a shy look. “I don’t know how to swim.” He said softly.

Joonmyun just smiled. “That’s alright, I can teach you.”

“Uhm… okay.” He said quietly as he went to change.

They came out to the pool to see Luhan and Xiumin lounging on the pool deck. Well Xiumin was lounging, Luhan was almost hovering over him.

“Get out of my sun.”

“But you look adorable.” Luhan said looking down at him.

“I’m sure you’d look adorable thrown over the side of the boat.”

“Awh come on Minnie, why so hostile.”

“Because you are too gay to function and I was born this way.” He sighs as he shifts to his right side.

“Tch, fine then.” Luhan says getting up and going back inside.

“Finally.” Xiumin says finally relaxing.

Joonmyun set their stuff down as he watched Luhan storm inside. “You’re a jerk you know that?”

“I learn from you.” Xiumin says not paying attention to him.

Joonmyun just sighed as he took his shirt off and prepared to get into the water. Kyungsoo paused and saw how amazing his body looked. He wasn’t one to care about nice bodies, but he couldn’t help but stare at his flawless white skin and his softly toned body.

Joonmyun chuckled seeing Kyungsoo wide eyed with his mouth a little open. He placed a finger on his chin and pushed his jaw back up.

“Oh, sorry.” Kyungsoo said embarrassed.

Unfortunately Joonmyun didn’t get the same view because Kyungsoo didn’t take his shirt off. He didn’t mind though.

“Come on.” Joonmyun said stepping into the water. “It feels great.”

Kyungsoo was hesitant. He dipped his toe into the water and quickly pulled it back. “It’s cold.” He lied. It wasn’t all that cold.

Joonmyun turned around and giggled at him. “You’re scared. It’s ok.” He quickly got in front of him and turned around. “Get on my back.” He said gesturing to give Kyungsoo a piggyback ride in the water.

Kyungsoo was hesitant about this too, but Joonmyun kept urging him to and so he shyly wrapped his arms around his neck and wrapped his legs around his waist. Joonmyun supported him by holding onto his legs as he took the steps down into the water.

Kyungsoo let out a small ‘eep’ as Joonmyun carried him lower into the water. Joonmyun chuckled at the way Kyungsoo tightened his grip around him, ignoring the fact that his windpipe was almost being crushed.

But as soon as Joonmyun moved around in the water a little bit, Kyungsoo relaxed and began enjoying himself. He laughed at how Joonmyun struggled to keep them both up in the deep end. He swam them over to the steps and let him sit down.

“That wasn’t so bad was it?” Joonmyun said smiling sitting down next to him.

“You’re a good swimmer.” Kyungsoo said splashing some water at him.

Joonmyun laughed as he splashed a little back at him.

“Thank you.” Kyungsoo said smiling at him.

“What for?” Joonmyun asked tiling his head.

Kyungsoo blushed a little. “For being so nice to me, which, I still don’t know why you are…” He said trailing off, still staring at him a little.

Joonmyun ruffled his hair. “Well… I don’t know what to say to you. It’s just… there’s something about you.” He said quietly.

“Something about me?” Kyungsoo said confused.

“Yeah, there’s just something about you.” Joonmyun repeated. Kyungsoo tilted his head a little, confused as to what Joonmyun meant. “There’s just something about you that I want to protect. I want to protect you Kyungsoo.” He said leaning in a little.

Kyungsoo was taken aback by the sudden move closer and leaned back. “Uhm…” Kyungsoo didn’t know what to say. He just kept glancing back and forth between the most interesting pool tile and Joonmyun’s smile.

Joonmyun suddenly grabbed his hand. “Let’s go, we should get ready for dinner.”

Kyungsoo blushed at the touch. “Oh okay.” His eyes lingered a little too long at the water rolling down Joonmyun’s back. He shook his head, trying to stop his mind from thinking inappropriate things.

They all sat down for dinner in the dining room. “Where’s Xiumin?” Joonmyun asked.

Everyone shrugged and looked towards Luhan. “Well Lu?” Lay asked.

Luhan just shrugged. “I don’t know. He told me to leave him so I did.”

Just then Xiumin comes walking in the door, more like waddling.

“Oh my god.” Joonmyun started laughing as soon as he came over.

“Baozi!” Luhan said running up to him.

“Don’t. Touch. Me.” He said flinching at the hands coming towards him.

“You’re so red!” Lay said laughing.

“I fell asleep outside, and well.” Xiumin struggled as tried to sit down. He looked at the food in front of him and tried to lift his arms, but ultimately failed and winched in pain. “You know, I think I’m just going to bed.”

The others just watched as he waddled off again and Luhan had followed him.

“Should we…” Joonmyun asked.

“Nahhhhh.” Lay went back to eating his food.

Kyungsoo and Kai glanced at each other and shrugged.

Xiumin slowly sat himself down on the edge his bed, trying not to hurt himself any more but then Luhan came into his room.

“Luhan, I am not in the mood for your advances.”

“Shut up.” Luhan said rummaging through some drawers.

“Luhan—“

“Xiumin, take your shirt off.”

“Wh-what?!”

“Do it for I’ll have to it for you.” Luhan said firmly.

Xiumin didn’t hesitate because he didn’t want Luhan touching his sunburned body, especially because Luhan is more of a slapper than someone gentle.

He suddenly sees Luhan coming up on the bed behind him. “Wh-what are you doing?” He said about to turn around, but he felt a cold liquid drip down his back, causing him to gasp out at the sudden temperature change.

“Don’t worry, it’s just aloe vera.” Luhan said slowly and gently rubbing it into his back.

“Oh, uhm… thanks.” Xiumin said quietly, his face blushing red, but Luhan wouldn’t be able to tell under all the sunburn. “You don’t have to do this you know.” Xiumin said quietly as Luhan squeezed a little more on his back.

“I know.”

“Then why are you?”

“Because.” He simply says.

“Because….”

“Because I thought it was obvious.” Luhan says making sure his arms are coated too.

“No?” Luhan was now in front of him, squeezing some more aloe on his hands, and then gently placed them on his chest.

He leaned in a little as he gently rubbed the aloe in. “Because I like you.” Luhan said with a smile. He finished rubbing in the aloe and wiped his hands on a towel. “Done. I’ll see you later.” Luhan said walking out of the room.

“Wait!” Xiumin called out.

“Yes?” He said looking behind him.

“Thanks. For you know.” Xiumin said shyly.

“You’re welcome. Just keep that bun squishy.” Luhan said with a wink.

Xiumin groaned as he fell back onto his bed. “So much for thinking he’s decent.”

Joonmyun and Kyungsoo sat in a queen bed together. Unfortunately there were only 4 bedrooms on the boat, so Lay and Kai were in one, and Xiumin got another because he defiantly didn’t want to be in a bed room with Luhan. Kyungsoo didn’t mind, but Kai tried to protest, but to no avail.

They sat awkwardly in the bed not really talking or doing anything.

“So I guess we should go to sleep.” Kyungsoo said turning on his side, facing Joonmyun.

Joonmyun turned to see Kyungsoo looking at him with big eyes. He could feel a blush creep onto his face. “Uhm. I suppose so.” He was going to turn off the light until a thought crossed his mind. “Kyungsoo.” He said in a soft whisper.

“Hmm?” He answered before he closed his eyes.

“Can you sing me a song?”

Kyungsoo’s face blushed a little. “Me? Sing a song…”

“You’re a great singer.” He said smiling. “I just wondered what it was like to fall asleep to your voice.”

Kyungsoo blushed a little more. “Uhm… okay.” He said shyly. “Do you have any requests?”

“Anything.”

Kyungsoo smiled. He slowly snapped to the beat of the song.

“Sunday morning, rain is falling.

Kyungsoo glanced over to see that Joonmyun has fallen asleep. He smiles as he switches off the light.

“Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave”

He finished the song with a whisper, as he fell asleep also, thinking of how nice this moment was.
