Kris dashed to his computer, switching it on immediately, his face lit up as he noticed there was a brand new email from his mysterious ‘pen pal’. Opening it quickly, he began reading:

Thanks for the compliment. I like the picture too ^o^!

I can’t believe you sent me it :3 I am very happy about that you know… or maybe you don’t…

Anyways… your present shall be posted tomorrow ^_^
Await its arrival!

Although I have to admit. The thought of me and you actually meeting and bringing our friendship to the next level is very enticing. Too enticing in fact. Uhm maybe soon we can have another Webcam chat?

Kris’s heart started to pound a little bit faster against his chest as he read it. No matter how dirty it was, it sounded very sweet to him. To be very honest, he couldn’t wait to see Tao again on webcam, and hear his y voice again. The boy looked so cute, yet he could tell he was a bit fierce. So… when was this sent? Kris looked up at the date and realised it was sent by Tao yesterday. So, the present shall come today?

Suddenly, there was a knock out of the door. Kris lightened up. Wouldn’t it be weird if that was the package? Well, he had no idea who else it could be so he dashed to the door, swinging it open instantly.

His eyes widened at the large package the delivery man was holding in his large arms. But, Kris quickly signed his name, taking the box dearly into his own hands, bowing slightly before shutting the door finally.

He couldn’t wait to open it. His legs carried him to the living room where he took a seat, the large box on the table and stared at it with a certain spark rising through his body quickly. Instantly, his hands were on the packaging, ripping it apart, impatient, and immediately opened the top.

Inside, were three separately wrapped items.

Kris took the large one out first, excitement building up in him as he slowly unwrapped it. A loud giggle left his mouth as he realised what he was holding.

It was a very large plush toy. It was clearly the most adorable thing he had ever saw or held. The plush was a huge cuddly teddy bear, one that had the sweetest eyes, and it looked just so damn huggable. Quickly, he shoved it to his chest, hugging it as tight as he could, and suddenly the thought of the teddy being Tao entered his mind. He wondered if it would feel this calming to hug the other.

Letting go of the large plush, he put it to the side on the couch beside him, and took out the next wrapped present. It was relatively small, and it looked like a box. Taking off the paper, it was revealed that the present was indeed a small black box. Opening it, his eyes widened at the item inside. The object was a sliver ring, and it was simply beautiful. Kris took it out slowly and examined it much closely. On the inside of the ring, there was one word inscribed on it.

‘Krisp’

Kris’s heart fluttered again, and he instantly put it on his finger. It felt amazing. But he couldn’t believe that the other had actually got him a present such as this. Amazing… His eyes flickered to the last object in the large package. It was a medium sized one, and instantly he unwrapped it.

Inside, was an empty photo frame. Kris looked at it very confused. What was this for? Then, he realised there was a piece of paper at the bottom of the large empty package. As he picked it up, his eyes skimmed the words.

‘Kris, I know you’re probably wondering why I sent you an empty photo frame – well, when we first meet, I want us to have our very first picture to be put in this!’

The boy laughed, smiling brightly – he had never felt this happy over such a normal item as a photo frame. He stood up, gripping on the frame, and walked over to the fireplace, placing it on the shelf in the middle. One day, that would be filled with a  great picture.

…

He lay on the couch, the giant plush was lying beside him, and the ring was still occupying its rightful place on his finger as he began to think about his mysterious friend. It was simply amazing how he could feel this excited and happy about someone he had only talked to a couple of times and never met in real life.

Then he suddenly remembered… he hadn’t sent an email back!

Rushing to his computer as he did earlier that day, he quickly opened up a new message and began to write to Tao.

‘I can’t believe that you sent me those gifts.

I don’t even wanna know how much that ring cost. But I do know it’s absolutely beautiful. So thank you.

And the photo frame was a brilliant idea – I can’t wait to fill it.

About the webcam thing, I’d love to see you and hear you again. And of course, I cannot say no to seeing your body – don’t back out now ^o^! (Yeah, I just stole your smiley.)

I get off of work at 7pm tomorrow – I’ll be on all night waiting for you.

As Kris continued to read over the message, he laughed at how much Tao had influenced him. He was starting to become more playful with him, and starting to even write emoticons on his messages. To be honest, he just wanted Tao to smile when he read any email that he sent to him.

Kris sighed as he remembered he did have to go to work tomorrow; lately, his work had been very stressful and been making him very tired.

Really, Tao has been on his mind all day, and he was able to keep his mind off the bad things at work. Tao was really a miracle worker.

Anticipation filled up inside of the Chinese man as he thought about their first meeting as he had done every night since they first talked. It would be a great day when it came.

…

Kris woke up, turning to the side, flinching back when he was faced with the large cuddly face of Taoris. But soon a smile replaced his frown as he wrapped his own arms around the large plush, digging his face into it, inhaling the scent of the brand new toy.

Kris couldn’t help feel he was… mental in some way. All he could think about – day and night – was Tao – a man he had never even meet before. Well, it was either he was mental or he was in lo-… Nope. That was impossible. He quickly shook his mind away from his thoughts and got out of bed, walking over to the computer, switching it on.

Then he realised he was getting way to addicted to this intelligent machine. Again, this was because of Tao. Why was Tao creating such an impact on his life?!

As he watched the internet server connect, he quickly clicked on his emails, a smile on his face as he anticipated seeing a new email from the man who that could not be removed from his thoughts.

But, opposite of his thoughts, there was no new email.

“Oh…” he muttered, closing it down, and fidgeting with his hands nervously. Of course he was disappointed… but it did take one week for Tao to actually send him an email, so why would it be different now.

…

At work, he couldn’t help but feel completely ignored through the entire day. He was acting on his bad mood to his co-workers, but he didn’t care at all.

He hadn’t ever thought about it this much before.

But he wanted to meet Tao. And, for once in his life, he wasn’t afraid to go and get what he wants.

…

Rushing home, quickly he turned the computer on, writing a brand new message to the mysterious Tao.

‘Tao, I want to meet up.

But, we need to go on webcam first.

Email me back soon, or this chance will go away.

Krisp.’

It was short, but it gave everything he wanted it to. It was fast, but this was what he needed. After he clicked send, he couldn’t help but feel so much more nervous than usual.

But now, he had to play the waiting game.
