Chapter 13

I Met My Lover On A Site [MULTI-CHAPTER]

A/N: Sorry for it taking so long! Enjoy!

It’s been a week; and he hasn’t seen Tao since he danced with him at his work. Kris spent a couple of days worrying that he had done something wrong; and that Tao was completely turned off and he was never going to get a chance with him again. And then; on the fourth day; he remembered that he didn’t actually switch numbers with the panda. Which was extremely stupid. Because he had no way of contacting him.

Or so he thought. And then he remembered; on the seventh day; that he knew where Tao worked so he was just going to go there tonight and find the adorable panda; spend some time with him and then get his number.

So that’s what he was doing at the moment; just leaving to go and visit him at the club.

When he reached the club; it was already pounding with loud music and covered in sweaty bodies grinding against each other. Drunken men and woman were placed at different points around the bar; leaning unconscious over it or shamelessly flirting with whoever they saw.

Kris walked past the crowd; ignoring the slight touches and advances made at him by lust filled people. When he got to the bar; he took a seat where no one could bother him, and simply waited until he was attended to. And he hoped that it would be Tao; doing the attending and not another certain… bartender.

“What can I get you?” Kris immediately looked up and noticed an unfamiliar face looking down at him with a small smile.

“Uh, just a beer please.” He replied; giving a small smile of his own back.

“No problem.” The bartender said as he took out a glass and began preparing Kris’s drink.

“Um, could I ask you a question?” The Chinese man asked. The other chuckled and nodded.

“Sure.”

“Do you know where Tao is?” The other smiled.

“Why?” he replied. Kris sighed.

“I’ve been looking for him. Is he on a shift at the moment?” The Chinese man asked; wanting to just know where the other one was at the moment.

“No, he isn’t.” The bartender muttered.

“Damn.” Kris muttered to himself angrily. “When does he work?” he asked. Kris’s job was hectic at the moment as well; so he wasn’t able to go out in the day.

“He’s on holiday at the moment.”

Kris slammed his head down on his own arms. He definitely couldn’t ask the guy where Tao lived; cause he’d just sound like a stalker. He was at a dead end – again.

“Who are you anyway?” the other asked as he placed the glass full of bear in front of the handsome foreign-looking man.

“I’m… a friend.” Kris replied, picking up the glass and drinking out of it. He could tell the bartender was still watching him intently; but he ignored it; and instead, his thoughts went to one that he didn’t really even want to think about. There was only one last solution. Kai. “Kai – where is he?”

The other smirked.

“You seem to know a lot of people around here.”

Kris was starting to get a little annoyed with all the questions.

“Yeah. Now, Kai?” he pressured. The bartender chuckled.

“I’ll go get him for you.” And with that, he left, leaving Kris alone.

He sat there for about five minutes; having to continuously tell a lot of people that he was already seeing someone as they tried to come onto him; it was getting really annoying for him.

Just as soon as he was about to sigh for the nth time; the bartender returned with another following closely behind.

“Kris!” Kai shouted, as he leaned over the bar and attempted to engulf the taller in a hug; which the other quickly evaded.

“I need to ask you one thing; and one thing only.”

Kai pouted and leaned back, nodding slowly. The other bartender stayed in the back, watching the two converse.

“What’s Tao’s phone number?” he asked, a little embarrassed at the fact that he needed to actually ask Kai that. Jongin bit his lip in order to keep in the laughter.

“…You seriously didn’t ask for his number?” he asked, leaning over again.

The Chinese man scratched his head nervously.

“I… forgot to. Now; can I get it?”

Kai chuckled and smiled before moving through another door; coming back a minute later with a phone in his hand.

“So, he isn’t a creep?” the other bartender said; smirking.

“Nah, he’s Tao’s lover boy.” Kai mentioned, passing Kris his phone who grabbed it angrily.

“Oh really now?” the other said. Kai nodded.

“This is Kris; Kris, this is Chanyeol.” The other Chinese boy didn’t look up; instead continuing to look through Kai’s contacts for Tao’s name. When he found it; he smirked and pressed the numbers on his own phone, putting a heart next to his name.

“You’re such a schoolgirl Kris.” Kai mocked, leaning over to ruffle the older man’s hair but Kris avoided it, holding Kai’s wrist tightly.

“ off Kai.” He snarled, handing the phone back.

“He’s certainly feisty.” Chanyeol mentioned, going back to work afterwards.

“I’m leaving.” Kris stated, waving to the other before leaving the club immediately.

When he reached his home; he ran to his bed and flew himself on it – immediately grabbing Taoris and cradling it in his chest happily. He couldn’t wait to see Tao again.

Then he had a great idea.

The webcam!

Rushing over to his computer, he immediately switched it on and waited patiently for it to start up. As it did; he cautiously put on his webcam and moved onto the sight that brought them together firstly. He had just hoped that Tao was on.

So Kris started to wait; and wait. Damn; after the first ten minutes you’d think Kris would give up. But no; Kris was willing to wait for as long as it took. Which was probably why he ended up falling asleep soon afterwards.

“Kris!”

Was that Tao’s voice? Now he was visiting me in my dreams? This is bliss.

“Wakey Wakey!”

Kris smiled as he slept with Tao’s voice ringing through his ears.

“You look adorable sleeping.”

Kris’s eyebrow twitched; but he didn’t want to wake.

“For God sake Kris, Wake UP!”

His body jumped awake, and he looked around his room through hazy eyes. He could feel his messy hair falling over his eyes and his t-shirt crumpled.

He heard someone laugh and he looked around to his bed. His eyes went directly to the large bear on his bed. There was another laugh and Kris’s eyes squinted. Surely Taoris wasn’t giggling at him? Was he that delusional? When he heard another laugh he got off his chair and walked over to his bed, picking up the bear and staring it in the eye.

“What are you doing?” Tao’s voice again. Kris’s eyes squinted at the bear. Damn, maybe he should go to a mental hospital because he’s sure that the bear was now talking to him using Tao’s voice. “Are you…” Kris tilted his head, waiting for the bear to talk again. “…talking to a bear?” Kris stopped.

Slowly, he turned around and stared at his computer. Of course the webcam was on with the microphone. Of course Tao was on the other end of the signal. Of course the bear wasn’t talking.

Crap. Tao had just seen him talking to a bear.

Blushing a little, he put his head down and let his fringe cover his eyes.

“You are adorable.” Tao mentioned, grinning at him. Kris scratched the back of his head as he sat back down on the chair and looked at Tao through the screen.

“Hey Tao.” He muttered. The other still had a stupid smile on his face. “How are you?” Kris asked nervously; trying to make the other forget about what he had just seen. But it honestly wasn’t his fault! He was still half asleep.

“I’m okay. You fully awake yet? Or do you normally talk to Taoris?” Tao teased with a grin.

“Shut up.” Kris whispered, hanging his head to avoid the others gaze.

“It’s weird, isn’t it?” Tao suddenly said.

“…What is?” The older asked, looking back at the screen. The other Chinese man laughed.

“The way you’re acting right now.”

The blonde shrugged his shoulders.

“Don’t get what you mean.”

Tao chuckled but continued his explanation.

“The fact that you’re camera shy.” The panda said, smiling.

“I… I’m not.” The taller boy said, but then he realised what he said that like. “Okay… maybe I am. But you turn out to be really confident when we’re talking like this.”

Tao chuckled and nodded.

“I don’t know why, but I feel more confident if you’re not directly beside me.”

Kris smiled. He didn’t know whether to be particularly pleased or sad about that fact.

“I want you to be confident around me though.” Kris whispered, voicing out his thoughts. He could hear the other laugh.

“I can’t do that.”

The blonde looked at him sadly, and he looked confused at why the other was laughing.

“But why?” he wondered. Tao sighed.

“I get too nervous around you when you’re close…”

Kris’s heart started beating a little faster, at the words that left his mouth.

“Why?” The Chinese man asked. Tao bit his lip nervously.

“T-That’s personal.” The panda said. Kris couldn’t help but chuckle a little. He watched as Tao ran his hand through his hair, that’s when Kris clocked what was on the boy’s wrist, and he couldn’t help but smile greatly.

“You’re wearing the watch.” He noted. Tao chuckled.

“Of course I am. It came from you.” The boy explained, until he suddenly blushed, probably at his own words.

“Really? That’s sweet.” Kris grinned. It looks like the tables had turned, and Tao was the one blushing now. Then Kris remembered something. “By the way, I went to the club today.” Tao’s head shot up.

“Why?” he asked.

“To get… something of yours…” Nervous Kris came back. The panda on the screen, looked confused.

“What exactly?”

“Your phone number.” Kris admitted reluctantly. It probably made him look like a creep.

“Then, why haven’t you called me yet?” Tao asked hurriedly, a small smile placed on his lips.

“I just got it this morning.” He replied, he didn’t have time to call the other.

“Oh… then call me tonight?” the panda asked.

“Why?” Kris asked. Tao chuckled.

“Because, I need to go now…” he said reluctantly, looking at his watch. Kris felt his heart drop a little, he didn’t want Tao to go.

“Oh, okay…”

“Jesus Kris, you look like a kicked puppy.” Tao seemed to take some pride in that comment.

“Shut up.” Kris repeated his previous statement and looked down at his desk.

“Bye Kris.” Tao puckered his lips and blew a kiss into his webcam. Kris chuckled at the motion.

“Bye Panda.” He just smiled as the other’s screen fell black.

His heart was still beating like crazy, Tao was making him go crazy, little by little.

It soon reached 10 pm, and Kris had just stepped out of a shower and was ready to go to bed. As he plopped himself down, he picked up his phone and scrolled down till he reached ‘Tao <3’. Pressing the call button, he brought the phone to his ear and waited patiently.

And waited.

And waited.

“Damn Tao, pick up the phone!” Kris mumbled. But the phone kept ringing and ringing.

Until that damn answering machine picked it up. But Kris wasn’t in the mood to leave a message. He’ll just have to try again after work tomorrow…

When he finally got to work, he slung his camera bag over his shoulder and took a deep breath. Actually, he was on holiday for a while; so it was weird coming back.

As he walked through the office doors, he was suddenly attacked by someone who slung their arms around his neck and pulled him into a breath-taking hug.

“What the-!” he mumbled as he was crushed by a smaller man. “Get off Baekhyun. Now.” He demanded, trying to push the other away quickly. He heard a small groan and he was suddenly released.

“You’re no fun Kris. It’s been like 2 weeks since you’ve seen me, and this is how you act?!” the boy screamed, pretending to look as pissed as he could. The photographer just groaned and continued to walk; realising the other was following him.

“Why are you here anyway? Shouldn’t you be at a shoot?” he wondered. Baekhyun chuckled.

“Yeah, but I’m waiting for the photographer…” he muttered, smirking. Kris stopped in his tracks.

“Who is it…?” he asked carefully. The other just kept smirking. “Why do I get you on my first day back?!” The blonde screamed, moving closer to his own office. When he reached there, he put his camera down and grabbed the schedule his boss must’ve filled in for him. But sure enough, he was the photographer for Baekhyun’s shoot.

“.” The Chinese man whispered. The other chuckled.

“Shall we go now?”

After the photo-shoot was over, Kris just wanted to go home. Baekhyun was too much for him to handle on the first day back, like seriously. He was picky about everything and he hardly listened to him at all. Everything had to go his way. Even though he was only the model.

“Got a boyfriend yet Kris?” Baekhyun suddenly appeared beside him, batting his pretty eyelashes. The older sighed.

“No.” The Korean always asked him this. He always wanted to be included in the man’s love life which was always literally non-existent.

“No? Well… why is there a love heart next to a certain name on your phone?” the model asked, raising an eyebrow.

“…Why have you got my phone?” he said softly, trying to come off as calm at least, although he was getting angrier by the second that the other was going through his stuff, again.

“Because I do. So tell me, who's Tao?” Baekhyun smirked and nudged him on the shoulder, obviously excited that something was actually happening in the other’s life.

“None of your goddamn business. And give me my phone.” Kris instructed, holding out his hand. Baekhyun chuckled and took the other’s phone out of his pocket – but he didn’t give it back at all. Instead, he went through the phone suspiciously. “Baekhyun, now.” The photographer demanded more seriously this time.

But the model didn’t seem to even listen to the others warnings, and instead, he pressed a button and suddenly held the phone to his ear, making Kris worry.

“What are you doing?” he asked, taking a step forward towards the other man. Baekhyun smirked and took a step back; laughing.

Just as Kris was about to say something else, Baekhyun interrupted him.

“Hey! You don’t know me, but this is Kris’s phone!”

Kris felt his heart drop. Baekhyun did not just call Tao. That means that Baekhyun called him first before Kris. That wasn’t good.

“Give me the phone. Now.” Kris ordered, taking another step and holding Baekhyun’s arms tightly.

“It was lovely to meet you, but your boyfriend is about to attack me!”

Kris could hear Tao’s chuckle on the other end and then a soft voice follow.

“Is he now? Good luck.”

That wasn’t what made Kris’s eyes widen. It was the fact that Tao didn’t deny that Kris was his boyfriend, at all. Maybe it just didn’t go through his head. Grabbing the phone of Baekhyun, Kris decided it was probably a good idea to talk to Tao right now since he just finished work. He motioned for Baekhyun to just go away. Thankfully, the other did so rather quickly. Holding the phone up to his ear, he spoke softly.

“I’m really sorry about that. I have no idea how he got a hold of my phone…” Kris apologised, but when he heard the other’s laugh, it relaxed him a little.

“Don’t worry about it. I’m glad he called.”

“Why?”

“Cause I get to speak to you, don’t I?”

“Right. Speaking of, why didn’t you pick up last night?”

“Oh, I’m really sorry about that!"

“Don’t worry about it Panda. It’s fine. We’re talking now.”

“You’re so sweet.”

“Why thank you.”

“I can tell you’re not as shy as you are on camera eh?”

“Yup, as long as you can’t see me through a screen, I’m completely confident!”

“Good to know.”

“So Tao… I have a question I would like to ask you.”

“Go ahead.”

“Well, a few questions actually.”

“Sure, I don’t mind.”

Kris took a deep breath before he spoke again.

“Baekhyun… said that I was your boyfriend, and you didn’t deny it right?”

“…Right…”

“What was that about?”

“Oh… Oh! Um… I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

“Oh, okay. First question answered.” Kris felt saddened now. So the other didn’t realise what he had said?

O-Okay…”

“Let’s go out on a date.”

“Huh?”

“You heard me. Please? I want to get to know you better before I ask you out-…” . Kris had totally not meant to let that slip at all.

“…You want to ask me out?”

“…”

“Kris?”

“…”

“You still there?”

“…Tao, I really like you a lot, and of course I want to ask you out, but I want to get to know you better first. Is that alright?”

“Of course! I’d love that!”

“Great! Um… yeah, are you free tomorrow?”

“I am. I’m on holiday remember?”

“Oh yeah, so, would you like to have dinner with me then?”

“…I-I would.”

“Great, I’ll text you the times. I’ll see you then?”

“…Y-Yeah…”

“Bye Panda.”

“…Bye Kris.”

When the other hung up, Kris couldn’t help but grin like a maniac. Their relationship was building, and they are now going on a date. He couldn’t wait!

Chapter 21: That was the best to do, I mean, they are boyfriends just recently and you can't put your carreer and a chance like this in risk because of your new boyfriend. So I find it so mature for Tao to told Kris to take this chance (despite his tears) .That is a good sign for their relationship
