Chapter 8

A Mate's Struggle

Integrating Jisung into their lives wasn't that hard, considering that Kisu, Youngjae and Jooheon knew him from before. Daniel and Woojin got along well with the others, despite the small language barrier between Daniel and everyone else who spoke mainly Korean.

Jisung was currently laying down in the grass at the park in human form, looking up at the sky. Kisu was keeping him company as Youngjae and Jooheon had been sent out by Kris to do a small mission back in the states.

"It's been so quiet lately," said Jisung. "Mm," said Kisu. "Things have been quiet haven't they?" He asked. "It's a little strange though, because Jaejoong is still out there somewhere," he said. "Who is he anyway?" Asked Jisung. "He's the leader of one of the largest werewolf hunting families in the world, despite them being a pack of werewolves themselves," said Kisu.

"What made them want to hunt their own kind?" Asked Jisung as he sat up. "You know, I'm not exactly sure," said Kisu. "Some say it started when their oldest son Hyungwon left them for his mate but," he said, shrugging. "We'll never know the real truth behind it," he said, sighing as he sat up, leaning back on his hands.

Jisung hummed in response as Kisu got a text. Kisu checked his phone, wondering what was up. "Oh, we need to get dinner," he said. "Is it your turn to cook?" Asked Jisung. "No, but since it's Youngjae's turn it went to me," said Kisu. Jisung sighed. "Can't you pass it to someone else?" He whined. "Sorry," Kisu said, chuckling some as he got up. Jisung sighed and got up. "We can't take everyone out to eat can we?" He asked. Kisu shook his head. "We can come back later," he said. "Okay," said Jisung. They headed to the supermarket.

They were being followed again, as Kisu went to get the ingredients he needed. He paid no mind to it but Jisung stuck close, tense as low growls escaped him every now and again. "Calm Jisung," said Kisu as he put a hand on his shoulder. "We're fine," he said. "Sorry," said Jisung as he tried to calm down. "We're almost done," said Kisu as he grabbed what he needed before going to check out. He made sure to call Jeonguk to tell him to come pick them up because they were being followed as they went to stand outside after paying for their food.

"This is stupid," said Jisung as he sighed. "Well, at least we're in a public area," said Kisu. "True but we're being tailed," said Jisung. "We'll be fine," said Kisu. After a few minutes Woojin pulled up to the curb in Jeonguk's truck with Daniel and Hongseob. "Jeonguk's dealing with some things, apparently he was being tailed also," said Woojin. Kisu nodded and put the bags in the trunk before hopping in the trunk with Jisung getting into the truck after him. After making sure everyone was good Woojin drove off, heading back to the pack house.

Once in front of the gates to the pack house Kisu hopped out and put in the combination for the gates and Woojin pulled into the driveway once the gates were open, turning off the ignition and getting out. Kisu observed the road for a few minutes before going passed the gates and closing them. "I think it's time ya'll installed some security cams," said Woojin as he helped bring groceries into the house. "That's only useful here," said Kisu as he went to start on dinner.

Jeonguk arrived a few minutes before dinner was done with Jinhong and Changsun, grumbling about being followed. "Were you followed too?" Asked Kisu as Jinhong went into the kitchen. Jinhong nodded. "We had to call Hongseob to come get you because we couldn't go over there," he said. "Makes sense," said Kisu as he checked on the food. "Dinner's ready!" He shouted in Korean then English, causing everyone to come into the kitchen and grab their plates of food before going into the living room to watch a movie.

"When are Youngjae and Jooheon coming back?" Asked Jeonguk as he looked at Kisu. "I'm not sure," said Kisu as he shrugged. "But I don't think it'll take more than a month, they're going to see Cory and everyone else after their missions are done," he said.

"Maybe they can convince Jimin to let Cory come back with them," he said. "I'd hope so," said Jeonguk as he sighed. "Cory's desperate to come back," he said. "We know," said Kisu. "I've been working with him on finding ways to get him him here," he said. "It'd be for the best I'd say," said Woojin. "From what I heard from Hobi, Jimin's not letting him out of his sight," he said. "We'll figure out something," said Daniel.

"But first we need to deal with Jaejoong," he said. "We'll deal with him when he decides to show his face," said Kisu. "I don't know about you but I'd rather no go to Busan right now," he said. "We've been safe here in Daegu for the longest time but I'd rather not risk their wrath if we go to Busan," he said. "Kisu's right," said Jeonguk. "We've been here for many years with no problems, especially now that Hongseob's becoming more well known," he said.

"I wish I could understand this conversation a bit better," grumbled Jinhong as he sighed. "Don't feel bad," said Kisu. "We're just discussing Cory and Jaejoong," he said. "I figured," said Changsun. "Cory needs to come home and Jaejoong needs to stay off our backs," he said. "We were being followed around Seoul too," he said. "Looks like Seoul isn't safe either," said Kisu. "Well, nowhere is unless we move out of South Korea," said Jeonguk.

"I guess Daniel and I are lucky," said Jisung as he had been half listening to both conversations. "We're not werewolves," he said. "I guess so," said Daniel. "That doesn't mean we have our own enemies either," he said. "Daniel has a point," said Woojin. "You're lucky you haven't been exposed to it as much but," he said, scratching the back of his head.

Later that night Jisung was allowed to sleep in bed with Kisu, letting Daniel have the second bed to himself. "How'd you guys end up with a queen sized bed and then a second bed under it anyway?" Asked Daniel. "Cory and I shared this room with an old packmate of ours named Hui," said Kisu as he checked his phone for new messages. "Cory and I had this bed and Hui had the second bed," he said. "At least, back when Cory stayed with us," he said.

"Are you comfortable Jisung?" He asked as he turned to Jisung. "Yeah," said Jisung. "We turned your old room into one with a bunk bed in one corner and a queen sized bed in the other corner," he said. "Jeongin and I share the bunk bed and Hyunjin gets the queen sized bed," he said. Kisu chuckled some. "Hobi sent me a text with the redone room, I'm surprised we didn't think of that," he said. "Get some sleep," he said, putting his phone on the nightstand before getting comfortable.

"Hyung," said Jisung. "Hm?" Asked Kisu. "Can we go to the park again?" Asked Jisung. "Sure," said Kisu. "We'll go tomorrow," he said. Jisung hummed in response before he fell asleep. Kisu shook his head and closed his eyes, falling asleep.
