Chapter 15

A Mate's Struggle

"It feels great to be sleeping in the old bed again," said Jisung as he stared at the bunk above him. "Kisu said it was alright for you to be out this long right?" Asked Hyunjin. "Yeah," said Jisung. Jeongin was finishing up finals while the others ran errands and got ready for the graduation party. "I'm completely at home here in the meadow," said Kisu, causing Jisung to chuckle some. "What'd Kisu say?" Asked Hyunjin. "He's at home in the meadow, it's a nice place," said Jisung. "I agree with him," he said. Hyunjin chuckled some.

"I'm home!" Came Cory's voice as the front door opend. Jisung got up and went to greet him, with Hyunjin close behind. "When is Jeongin coming home?" Asked Jisung. "In an hour, he's dropping off some classmates," said Cory. "He has one more test then he's home free," he said. "Any news from Kihyun yet?" Asked Hyunjin. "No, which is good, the rest of your pack should be here later today," said Cory. "Ah, big leader Chan," Hyunjin said with a chuckle. "If they do well enough on the next Italy run I heard they'll be good enough to make their own faction," said Jisung.

"Mind if I talk to Kisu for a bit?" Asked Cory. Jisung blinked before tilting his head to the side. "What for?" He asked. "Just to catch up on things," said Cory. "You'll be there for the entire conversation," he said. "I think I know what this is about, it's alright," said Kisu. Jisung nodded and changed, Kisu soon standing in his place.

"Ugh, I'll never get used to that," said Kisu as he sighed. "What's up Cory?" He asked. "Take a walk with me," said Cory. "We'll be back in a few minutes," he said. Hyunjin nodded. Cory left the house with Kisu following behind him.

"What's up Cory?" Asked Kisu as they headed out to the lake. "Ah, it's just been a while since it was just us two," said Cory. Kisu chuckled some. "We've been caught up in our own things haven't we," said Kisu. "How have you been holding up?" He asked. "Eh," said Cory. "Things could be better," he said.

"Any episodes of relapsing recently?" Asked Kisu. "No," said Cory. "I think I'm at that point where I don't have to worry about it too much anymore," he said. "Which is great because I've learned to control the nightmares and prevent them from happening," he said. "That's good news," said Kisu as they reached the lake. "Hobi's been great with that," he said. Cory nodded.

"I'm going to miss this place," he said, picking up a stone and skipping it across the water. "You plan on going back and staying with us?" Asked Kisu. Cory nodded. "I think it'd be for the best at this point," he said, grabbing another stone and skipping it across the water. "All things considered anyway," he said. Kisu nodded, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Does Jeongin plan on having a giant graduation party?" He asked. "Nah," said Cory. "He doesn't have many human friends," he said. "So he's just inviting them," he said. "Do they know about him?" Asked Kisu. "No," said Cory. "Hopefully things will stay that way, he doesn't want to lose the friends he has because of some stupid thing happening," he said. "Like with Jimin," Kisu said, sighing as he shook his head. He picked up a stone and skipped it across the water. "Exactly," said Cory.

"I don't mean to cut into your conversation but Jimin seems like more of a douche bag compared to when we first met," Jisung said suddenly, causing Kisu to chuckle. "What?" Asked Cory. "Jisung's just surprised at the sudden personality change, he seemed more mild mannered and now he's a douche bag," said Kisu. Cory laughs. "Well, that is one way to put it," he said.

They both turn when they heard footsteps, seeing Chan walking over with Changbin and Seungmin. "Oh, hey Chan," said Kisu. "You spent the entire afternoon here," Chan said with a shake of his head, causing Cory to check his phone. "Woops," said Cory. "Chan!" Yelled Jisung. "Jisung says hi," said Kisu. "Hey Jisung," said Chan. "Can I be let out again please?" Asked Jisung. Kisu chuckled and changed, Jisung soon standing in his place.

"Chan!" Yelled Jisung as he tackled Chan. "Hey, missed you too," said Chan as he tousled Jisung's hair. "Changkhyun's looking for you Cory, apparently it's your turn to make dinner," he said, looking at Cory. Cory sighed. "Alright, let's head back then," he said. They soon headed back.

"Congrats on graduating Jeongin," said Chan once they reached the house. "Thanks," Jeongin said with a grin. "I see Jisung is happy to see you," he said. Jisung chuckled. "I'm sorry," he said, moving away from Chan. "I almost made Kisu deaf when I yelled his name," he said. "Not really but," said Kisu as he chuckled some. "Well, you were the closest to Chan," said Hyunjin. "Even though you're older," he said, snickering. Cory shook his head and went to start on dinner.

"Congrats on a successful Italy run," said Hoseok as he walked over. "Thanks," said Chan as he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "It was more thanks to Hongseob's careful planning," he said. "I heard my name!" Said Hongseob as he ran over, dragging Woojin over to translate. "Just praising you for the successful Italy run," said Woojin as he chuckled some. "Oh," said Hongseob before he grinned. "I used the same tactic I did in the 60's, it still works," he said, with Woojin translating.

"If you were so famous for the attack in the 60's why didn't you make a faction or join one back then?" Asked Jisung. "Ah, there's a story with that," said Hongseob after Woojin translated. "Basically Sungcheol took all the glory, and only would give it to me if I joined his faction, I refused," he said. "Further proves my point that Sungcheol is a douche bag!" Said Hoseok once Woojin translated. "Though he has changed a lot since Joshua basically forced him to disband his pack after he left," he said.

"It's not so bad," said Hongseob. "I ended up joining Joshua's faction anyway," he said, shrugging. "Were you there when Sungjin took his pack through an Italy run?" Asked Hyunjin. "Yep, I led the attack," said Hongseob after Woojin translated. "Anytime rookies join an Italy run they call on me to lead it," he said.

"Full house for the next few days it seems," said Changkhyun as he walked out of the kitchen. "Don't worry about it," said Chan. "We don't take up much room," he said. "I know, these three proved it," Changkhyun said, nodding to Hyunjin, Jeongin and Jisung.
