Jung Eunji
The Perfect ShipJung Eunji hurried down the crowded corridor of MBC's studio with her manager leading upfront. Her radio show pre-recording ended late so she had to somehow magically appear at their come back stage rehearsal in 20 minutes. She looked down at her phone, messaging furiously to her leader eonnie, Park Chorong, while at the same time, trying to find the quickest way to their rehearsal venue when, without warning, a face appeared out of nowhere right before her, making her jump.
"Omo!" She muttered, then blinked.
A fair, almost pale face framed by a full head of bleached blond hair, guy liner, complete with beautifully colored and shaped arched eyebrows completely filled her vision. He seemed half-annoyed and awkward and while his tone was sharp when he spoke, his eyes betrayed a hint of uncertainty as he looked at her.
"Ya, you didn't hear me call your name?"
She blinked again then gave him a wide smile.
"Ahh...Ki-bum ah. It's been a while. Sorry, it's really noisy here so I couldn't hear you calling. Have you been well?" She asked good naturedly.
Her satoori came out as soon as she spoke. Her tone was familiar, her voice was warm and friendly. And almost at once, Kim Ki-bum's expression softened. He broke into a wide smile.
"Yeah of course...I heard you guys have been busy preparing for your comeback stage so congratulations! Oh and call me."
He said that last part so quickly that Eunji almost didn't catch it.
"Huh, oh yeah. Ok. Thanks." She could only muttered on reflex and before she could even say anything else, he had already turned and disappeared as quickly and suddenly as he had appeared.
Kim Ki-bum sometimes surprised her. Just when she thought she had him figured out, he'd do something she wouldn't have expected and that, threw her off. She sighed and looked around quickly, trying to see if there were any hidden cameras but her manager had already strode over to her, nudging her along while grumbling under his breath that they would be in big trouble if they didn't get out of this building now.
Kim Ki-bum almost had to run down the stairs. He had taken the stairs as his fastest getaway. His heart couldn't stop pounding. She had him at 'Ki-bum ah'. He didn't understand how she could make him sweat just by talking to her. Was it her satoori? Her genuine smile or...he shook his head thinking Ahhh I don't know anymore!!! He remembered the first time he met her. No, noticed her. It wasn't 'Reply 1997', it wasn't when she became such a hot topic. It was much earlier, it was when she still had her baby fat, when she looked like just a kid to him. At that time, Apink had been next to perform after SHINee and they had walked pass each other at the backstage. He remembered he had heard her open laughter and when he turned to her, he saw the widest, most sincere smile he had ever seen. And from that moment onward, he had begun noticing her more, and by the time she was a big hit, thanks to 'Reply', she had turned into this woman that he had wanted to know all about. He sighed. He must be losing it. None of the others knew how deeply it ran. They all thought it was just for the show, for entertainment. They didn't realise how nerve wrecking it was for him to see her, talk to her. Only Jonghyun had any clue. Only he knew how much courage he had needed to muster up just going on that blind date with her, show or not. When the show had asked him which member of Naeun's group he most wanted to go out with, he just couldn't resist. He was still deep in thought as he made his way down the stairs where all the rest of s were waiting for him. He shook his head to clear his min
