Chapter 5

Feelings

Taehyung, unfortunately, couldn’t stay until Namjoon hyung woke up so when Ga Yeon noona arrived, he clumsily did his shirt and said in a rush

“Noona, I’m really sorry I have to let you take care of him but I have to go. Jiminie can’t cover for me today. But if anything happens please call me. And when he wakes up, bring him in. I noticed he had several bruises on his body when I helped him into the bath.”

“You did?” Asked Ga Yeon in shock. Grabbing his back who he had left on the kitchen counter, he said

“Yeah. So bring him in. Even if you have to threaten him with a knife, bring him in.”

“Ok, I will.” Taehyung was then about to leave when he felt a hand on his wrist. He didn’t jerk the hand away whatsoever. Instead, he allowed the person, who obviously was Ga Yeon noona pull him close to her, then letting her fix his shirt and hair, he said flirtatiously, though he knew Ga Yeon noona never ate the bait

“Ooh, now is this how it feels like to be married?” Ga Yeon ignored the playful comment then pushing him towards the door, she said

“Have a nice day ok. And don’t worry, I’ll bring him over.” With that said, Taehyung proceeded out the door and to his workplace.

Taehyung arrived at the hospital around 7 in the morning. And by the time he got there, Jimin was in his office, as expected, waiting for him to explain everything. From the way Jimin was glaring at him, he was more than upset that Taehyung hadn’t even bothered calling him. But after bathing, and changing Namjoon Hyung, he had simply been too tired to call. Actually, the minute, he had helped Namjoon into his bed and he laid on his couch, he had immediately fell asleep.

“I hope you have a great excuse.” Jimin snapped angrily, not even giving him the chance to mentally prepare himself. But having been friends with Jimin this long, he knew reasoning wouldn’t work much so instead, he began explaining everything to the guy. By the time he was finished, Jimin looked ready to kill. And honestly coming from the usually kind hearted and playful guy, it sure was a sight to see.

“That . Gosh, I knew she was a the minute I met her. But so tell me, is hyung ok?”

Taehyung put on his blouse, shrug slightly before saying

“I don’t know. Ga Yeon noona will bring him in when he’ll wake up. You can ask him then.”

“I see. Oh by the way, Dr Kang wants to see you.” Frowning, Taehyung turned to Jimin about to ask him why Dr Kang would suddenly want to see him but gave up seeing that he looked just as clueless as he was. Taehyung thanked him then and he was about to leave when Jimin caught him off guard, when he asked

“Hang on a second. What happen to your cheek?”

“What do you mean?”

“It’s a bit purple. Did you fight?”

“Who me? Of course not. It must be when Namjoon hyung accidently hit me. Anyway, let’s talk about this later, ok? I got to go.”

And not even letting Jimin the chance to even say anything else, he literally ran out of his office and towards Dr Kang’s office. Well, he wasn’t really running, he was more walking but really fast. So, it wasn’t really running. Greeting in rush the people he walked past, Taehyung finally arrived in front Dr Kang’s office and not even bothering to knock, he walked in just as he asked calmly

“Dr Kang, did you want to see…” Taehyung awkwardly choked on his words at the sight of another person in Dr Kang’s office. A person, Taehyung knew all too well. And not in a good way. The department watchdog and the chairman’s right hand, Min Yoongi. The guy, who despite being shorter than Taehyung and only three years his senior, was a real savage. It was said, that any doctor who had been reviewed by him had had to change country to be able to practice. And again it can only be in a clinic. That can sum up just how big he was in the field.

He wasn’t here to review him now is he? Taehyung anxiously thought, his eyes unconsciously drifting to a rather amused professor.

“Good morning, Dr Kim. How are you today?” Min Yoongi was the first to break the silence, his head only slightly turned towards Taehyung.

“Good. Thank you.”

“I’ve heard wonders about you from Dr Kang. Frankly, I have to say I am more than happy to be able to finally meet the one and only Dr Kim.”

“Unfortunately I can’t really say the same thing about you Yoongi-ssi.” The man only laughed in response before turning his gaze to the older doctor who hadn’t missed one bit of the conversation. Or rather the short greetings. If Taehyung had been extremely nervous with Namjoon’s little stunt yesterday, the stress of being in the same room as Min Yoongi was on a whole new level. Because, in this case, he already knew what would happen to him. And by all means, he was for sure going to be chewed by the guy. Damn it, as if Taehyung needed this now. Somehow, this sudden situation smelled like something that evil Yoon would do to him. Who was he kidding! For certain, Yoon is the one behind it. It’s so much like her to be this lovely. Note the sarcasm. Gee, can’t she focus more on her work instead of being a monumental to him as usual?

“You’ve asked for me Dr Kang?”

“Oh right. I heard your interns did an amazing job in assisting you during your surgery on a victim that was involved in the road accident the other day.”

“Yeah, well they are fast learners.” Taehyung curtly offered as an answer, not really understanding where this conversation was going. Was Dr Kang also going to complain for his odd ways of doing? Whichever case, Taehyung was ready to hear it all. But if there was one thing he was known for, it was his stubbornness. Thus, no matter how much he will be disapproved as long as he got the result he was expecting, he’ll keep going according to his plan in spite of anyone’s opinion. Bracing himself to hear the now familiar disapproving speech, Taehyung frowned when instead Dr Kang congratulate him. Speechless, Taehyung questioned dumbly

“For what?” Laughing in a low but soft way only Dr Kang had the secret of, the older man explained calmly

“It seems like you’ve beat the record of how long before allowing interns to assist in a real surgery.” Quirking his eyebrow in a way to highlight the fact that he was still clueless in why he deserved the congratulation since clearly it was the interns that had to be thanked for being fast learner in its place, Yoongi pursued in a much serious note this time

“That brings us to why I’m here.” Averting his gaze from the older man to the man a few older than him, he listened as Min Yoongi provided in his stern and somewhat soothing tone

“How would you feel about taking your interns to the blue and red training?”

“So that’s what happened?” Jimin grimly slurred, looking like that simple conversation alone was enough to explain why Taehyung looked so unhappy. And in truth, it was partly because of that conversation but also because his idiot of best friend was once again making him pay for their coffee, evidently still sore at the fact that Taehyung hadn’t called for his help when dealing with Namjoon hyung. Taehyung didn’t let it get to him that much though. Paying for the other man’s coffee wouldn’t make him any poorer anyway.

“But… So what are you going to do then? Are you going to accept the invitation?” Jimin’s question pulls him out of his reverie. Blankly, he took a sip from his coffee and shrugged. He knew how big of an opportunity that training would be for his interns. The problem was that he wasn’t sure the kids would be able to withstand the pressure. That training was made especially for interns that had been working for far longer than they have so Taehyung feared that he’ll be throwing them to quickly in the wolf’s mouth but then again, an opportunity like this would probably never represents itself again. Sighing dramatically, Taehyung lamented exasperatedly

“This is giving me a headache.”

“Why don’t you talk it out with your students then? At least hear their thoughts about it.” Jimin reasoned, alas, Taehyung was way too absorbed in his own thoughts to hear it.

Jimin noticed then how his friend’s feature suddenly went rigid, a sight he was well acquainted to. It was one of Taehyung’s trait. The man had the ability to blank out so fast and at any time that it was almost impossible sometime to have an hour worth of a conversation with the man. And snapping him out of his trances was a no-no for Jimin. Why? Simply because in those moments where he’ll zone out, he’ll wear that expression that looked like it would be a sin to disrupt. Thus, in those moments, Jimin would only remain quiet and patiently wait until his friend resurfaces on his own from whatever world he was trapped in. Normally, it took Taehyung about two to three minutes before that happens. However, this time it took longer than it normally would, Jimin didn’t bother him whatsoever. When finally, he did snap out of it, Jimin questions with concern

“Hey, what were you thinking of?” Taehyung didn’t answer immediately. He first looked briefly at his hand, a habit of his when he was haunted with too many thoughts, and eventually answers in his habitual composed tone

“Nothing in particular.” Jimin would’ve bought Taehyung’s blunt lie if it weren’t for the gleam of uncertainty Jimin read in the younger man’s eyes. He was about to demand the truth from his not so convincing liar but was interrupted instead by a familiar head, he had never expected to see especially here. Frowning despite him, Jimin tentatively called out

“Suga hyung?” The silhouette tensed up immediately. But he didn’t turn for all that matter. Thus, Jimin walked closer to the man regardless of Taehyung’s obvious expression that was telling him off from doing whatever he was doing, but still Jimin continued. Not because it was fun for him to see Taehyung’s nervous demeanor, but because he wanted to make sure he wasn’t just seeing things.

“Uhm excuse me but are you Suga hyung?”

This time the man turned, and Jimin’s complexion immediately brightens at the recognition. Wow, just how long had it been since he had seen his neighbor during his college time. They’ve lived in the same building for three years if he remembers correctly. Regrettably, they never had been that close. There were just so many things that separated them to get acquainted. First off, it was their . Obviously. And of course their college. Even if their college weren’t that far apart, Jimin was an 18 hours med student and Suga hyung, a diligent business student. So beside the usual pleasantries, they’ve never really had that much to talk about or in common. So how did Jimin got know his name? Again, he only knew his surname and honestly, Jimin wasn’t convinced the man’s actual name was that. It sounded more like a nickname to him than a real name but who was he to judge. He was glad to not need to call him his neighbor from room 210 anymore. And then he found out that he was from Daegu and having Taehyung as a friend, Jimin learned one or two things on how to deal with introverted people although Taehyung was anything but introverted. Somehow it was an interesting comparison between his best friend and neighbor, which Jimin frankly enjoyed. Because of his curiosity, yes, he’s not very proud in himself for admitting that, Jimin had then approached the man. It hadn’t been all that easy considering how cold the man had been towards him but eventually, he gradually warmed up. Or at least got used of Jimin’s presence. Then Jimin had moved and he never seen him again. So to see him here after so many years sure brought back old times memories.

“So it is you. When I first saw you I thought I was confusing you with someone, but it really is you. Wow, how you’ve been? Are you here for a checkup?” Jimin happily said, grinning widely.

“Jimin, what are you doing?” Taehyung whispers awkwardly, tugging his friend back as if he was fearing a total lush out from the other man. Jimin however ignored his friends pleading look and introduced with that jolly smile Taehyung was so used of

“Oh right, Taehyungie this is Suga hyung. You know the neighbor I told you about? The one who’s from Daegu. Wow the world sure is small.”

“Jiminie, stop. You’re confusing him with someone else. That’s Min Yoongi.”

“Huh?” Jimin breaths out not entirely sure if he heard Taehyung right. But before he could actually say anything more, Taehyung beats him to it and bowed curtly to the other man and apologizes for Jimin’s somewhat wrong doing. The problem was that Jimin had no clue as in what he had done so badly.

Despite his best effort to understand what Taehyung was discreetly mouthing him, Jimin couldn’t really get why his best friend was suddenly so anxious. Hang on a second, did he hear Taehyung call Suga hyung Min Yoongi? Jimin suddenly questions mentally, a frown forming itself on his pale complexion, unable to clearly order his thoughts. As if the man had read Jimin’s thought, the said Suga hyung, well at least to Jimin he was Suga hyung, says calmly

“It’s been a while since someone called me by that name.” And it was all Jimin needed to be sure he hadn’t got the man confused. Grinning widely at the man, he said

“Well, it’s the only name I know you off unfortunately.” Suga hyung smiled or more like tried to and continued quietly

“You should’ve asked my full name then if it bothers you now.”

“I could’ve asked but I figured you would think I’ll be prying.”

“Because you’d ask for my name?”

Taehyung who had been following the exchange couldn’t help but deeply frown not entirely sure how he was supposed to make out this situation for. Not only was it extremely awkward for him to see Jimin so laid back with every doctors nightmare but the fact that the said nightmare seem to be flirting made it damn hard for Taehyung to actually want to understand whatever it was happening before him. Choosing the safe route, Taehyung decided then that the less he knew the better he’d be. It didn’t stop him from wondering though if the same guy Jimin had been so interested in befriending was really Min Yoongi. And if it was, then what? Would they be having a neighbor reunion or simply exchange brief pleasantries before going their own way? Taehyung discarded rather quickly the second option seeing as the two seemed to be doing more than just catching up. Or at least, they seem genuinely happy to have ran into each other. Feeling a little out of place, Taehyung discreetly turned away from them and returned to his office. He had work to do anyway. Besides, Jimin would without a doubt tell him all about what they had been talking about himself, so there was no need for him to personally witness the scene himself.

Sighing deeply, Taehyung closed the door of his office behind him and proceeded to his desk where tons of patients’ files needed to be reviewed. Yawning unconsciously, he sat behind his desk and examining each and every file, he slowly lost himself in his work, ignoring the itchy feeling he was feeling at the bruise on his cheek.

By the time, Namjoon woke up, he had a migraine so painful he had a hard time figuring out if he was still alive or dead. But after seeing the cutting glare Ga Yeon noona threw his way the minute he managed to open his eyes, he figured he was better off dead. Groaning at the pain he was feeling at the effort of sitting up, Namjoon held painfully his head in his hands and swallowed painfully the lump in his throat. Bracing himself for the coming storm that was Ga Yeon noona, he tried to form a sentence but eventually gave up as no words left his lips. Gosh, how he hated the aftermath of abusing alcohol. Come to think of it, why the did he drink so much? As if Ga Yeon noona unconsciously heard his silent question, she said irritatingly while helping him with water

“Is she really that worthy for you to drink yourself to death?” Squinting his eyes from the blinding light coming behind Ga Yeon noona, Namjoon manages to ask roughly

“Who are you talking about?”

“Who am I talking about? Are you kidding me?” Ga Yeon noona asked in disbelief. A little too loud for Namjoon ears to bear alas, Ga Yeon noona couldn’t be bothered by Namjoon discomfort at all. One of Ga Yeon noona’s biggest quality. Gritting his teeth from the echoing sound from Ga Yeon noona shrieking voice, Namjoon barely heard anything besides one particular thing that immediately got him frowning and dumbstruck.

“… If it weren’t for Taehyungie, you’d certainly be waking up in jail instead. And to think that you hurt him all because he was trying to calm you down. I know you were drunk but still, if you were going to be an why did you drink in the first place. You normally have a better hold on alcohol…”

“I hurt Tae?” Namjoon repeated dumbly, his migraine slowly being replace by something more painful and it wasn’t in his head but rather somewhere on his chest.

“How hurt is he?” Namjoon inquires, guilt eventually creeping on him like the she was. Noticing the way Namjoon’s eyes were casted on his hands slowly sobering up, Ga Yeon noona sighs deeply and handing him aspirins for his migraine, she chided softly

“Have you sobered up now? Look, I know you were drunk but what happened yesterday never should’ve happen to begin with. Just what were you thinking by drinking so much? Did you perhaps thought you’ll manage to win her back that way? In that case, you’ve got no chance. Even an idiot like her wouldn’t take a drunkard fool back even if you begged which you did by the way.”

“.” Namjoon hissed pathetically and Ga Yeon couldn’t be agree with him more. Because indeed, this all situation was ed up.

“Here, eat this. We’ll go when you’re done.” Namjoon seem to finally have noticed where they were as he frowned deeply before asking hastily

“We’re in Tae’s apartment aren’t we?” Nodding in response, Namjoon stood up so quickly that his feet immediately gave him away. The loud thud immediately shook Ga Yeon noona who had been for a second distracted by her phone and she rushed over him, helping him up saying

“What the hell are you doing? Don’t move so quickly.”

“I need to talk to Tae. Where is he?”

“He’s not here. He had to go to work but if you obediently finish the soup I made for you I’ll take you to him.” Namjoon studied her for a while, probably making sure Ga Yeon noona weren’t playing him, and after being certain he wasn’t being fooled, he hastily downed Ga Yeon noona hangover soup despite her remarks on how he’ll end up chocking if he went any more faster, he finally set the bowl aside and breaths out breathlessly

“I’m done.”

Reluctantly, Ga Yeon noona refrained herself from scolding the still hangover man for being so hasty regardless his weak state and only nods in response before helping him to her car.

Taehyung had been examining his third file of the day when a knock interrupted his trail of thoughts. Without even looking up from what he was reading, he gave permission to whoever it was that was knocking to come in. Still not looking up from the file, he huffed tiredly

“What can I do to help you?”

“Nothing much, Taetae.” Taehyung narrowed dangerously his eyes from the familiar surname alas spoken by a not so familiar voice, he looked up to whoever it was and his mood only darkens as he sees none other than that brat of Jeon Jungkook actually taunting down at him. The kid really loved playing on dangerous water it seems.

“How many people here actually know that side of you Dr Kim?” Jungkook asked provocatively, looking as if he was the smartest kid on earth. He probably was a genius but right now, Taehyung felt more like he had a fool in front of him rather than a genius. After all, only a fool would purposely try to get on the wrong side of the person he was supposed to please. Then again, Taehyung was starting to get used of Jeon Jungkook unorthodox way to deal with Taehyung. Putting aside what he was reading, Taehyung uninterestedly retort

“I don’t see what you are talking about?”

“Nothing important really. Just realized that for a man with big words you sure bend rather quickly in front of people bigger than you. Could it be that you fear my father?” Taehyung was pissed to say the least. He was beyond offended that the kid before him actually has the guts to call him a hypocrite. Or at least implying it. Was he for real? Did he really think he had been so apologetic yesterday to not displease the great Jeon CEO? This kid really is too full of himself. Taehyung wasn’t going to let himself be impressed for so little however. If the kid wanted to play, Taehyung sure wasn’t one to refuse.

“Fear? Can you really not tell apart fear from bribing someone with fake apologies?” Taehyung blankly retorts, resting his chin on the palm of his hand.

“Finally, you’re showing your true color huh?”

“I’ve never pretended the contrary. So now if you don’t have anything worthwhile to say, go back and do your job.” Smirking internally at the way Jungkook’s jaw instantly tensed for being dismissed so coldly, Taehyung continued further, enjoying every minute of annoying the short tempered brat

“Hang on a second. Could it be that you’re jealous that I don’t find you important enough to kiss up your ? Is that why you are mad?” Taehyung must’ve hit a nerve, for Jungkook angrily glared at the older man and uncharacteristically throwing what seem to be a bracelet to Taehyung, he said grimly before leaving

“You wish. I’d rather be operated wide awake then to have you kissing up my . Who by the way is too good for an like you?”

“Your action seem to say otherwise.” Taehyung teased childishly but was completely ignored by the other. Very much amused by the kid’s action, Taehyung laid his back tiredly at the back of his leather chair and looking at the bracelet Jungkook threw his way, he wondered out loud

“Oh, so I did lose it there. Hm, he’s useful after all.”

Jungkook wanted to punch something so bad. God, how much he hated the man. It was like he could never win against the . And no matter how hard he tried to tame his emotion, every time he was in front of him he only wanted to mess him up so bad. And not the good kind of way. The guy really was the worse. Not only was he completely uninterested in accomplishing his role as Jungkook’s professor but he was also the most arrogant and foulest bastard Jungkook had ever had the chance to encounter. How can one person be so evil? Cussing under his breath, Jungkook finally returned to the doctor lounge to finish what he had been doing before he spotted Taehyung in his office. He open too harshly the note pad he had been studying on because Myungjae instantly turned his way and with a frown, he asked though with the candy in his mouth it came out more as incoherent words

“What’sh up with tyou?” Schooling his expression back to a more relaxed one, Jungkook try to retort

“It’s noth…” But was cut off rudely by Ahn who came in running, breathlessly asking

“Hey guys, do you know who’s here?”

“No, but I have a feeling you’ll tell us.” Myungjae jabs indifferently, still on his candy.

“Min Yoongi.” The name had been said in such a nonchalant way, that the said person instantly frowned in response. He had been heading out of the hospital when his name had been call out. Slowly turning to face whoever it was that was calling him, Yoongi tilted unconsciously his head as he couldn’t remember who the person was. He wasn’t very good in remembering people unfortunately. Well at least people he didn’t want anything from. Seeing Yoongi’s confused expression, the man in question smiles casually, unoffended for not being remembered and proceeded to introduce himself.

“Guess you don’t remember me. Well can’t blame you. I was a year before you in business school.” Finally putting the puzzles together, Yoongi exclaimed

“Oh Seokjin hyung, how are you?”

“Good thank you. You seem like you’re doing good.” Seokjin states, crossing his arms on his chest. A habit Yoongi now remembered that the man had. Politely, he bowed curtly at the older man and said

“You do too, hyung. But what could be bringing you here?” Seokjin grinned mischievously in response and answered vaguely

“Here to annoy someone.” And on that last note, Seokjin bid him goodbye and Yoongi finally left not entirely sure how to interpret meeting up two ghost of his past on the same day. Where one was more or less a nice coincident while the other, the fulfillment of something he had been hoping for ever since he lost contact with the said ghost. Smirking at the memory of the cute smile he had honestly missed, he finally made his way to his car but not after promising himself to wisely make use of this chance heaven gave him. And as long as he was called Min Yoongi, he sure as hell won’t do the same mistake twice.

When Taehyung met up with Jimin, his best friend was doing his habitual round, so deciding not to bother him, he turned away and made his way to Mrs Hong Nan for a report on how things were going so far.

Meanwhile, Jungkook had just finished studying the case Dr gave them to study and was now proceeding in finalizing his notes when his colleagues finally came back. And from the way Myungjae was actively complaining, the said Min Yoongi must be quite the character to make them so uneasy. Unlike his friends, Jungkook hadn’t needed to see the man to know who it was. After all, he had quite the memory of a similar introverted and intimidating figure in his past. And by all means, it was someone he had had the chance to run into when he went to Seokjin’s university to visit him. So he wouldn’t be that surprise if they were talking about the same guy. What did however was the fact that instead of becoming a CEO of his own, why did he get into the hospitalizations industry? It’s true that the medical field was profitable but it’s quite a waste that Min Yoongi doesn’t use all his potential and prefers working under someone else. As a fellow genius, Jungkook seriously couldn’t understand the older man’s way of thinking but then again, he didn’t know him that much to judge.

Sighing tiredly, Jungkook pushed those thoughts aside and focused his attention at the task at hand if it weren’t for the hand that childishly covered his eyes. As if he had the time for childlike games right now. Clicking his tongue disapprovingly, he warned dangerously

“Whoever you are you better remove your hands now if you want to keep them.” Hearing a familiar chuckling voice in response, Jungkook turned his head to where the sound came from and his features softens up as he asked

“What are you doing here hyung?” Seokjin smiled innocently and sitting in front of Jungkook, he offers as an explanation

“To see you of course.” Unfortunately, knowing his hyung as Jungkook did, he knew for a fact that the guy never did anything for something as simple as a visit. Not even if it was to visit Jungkook. On his guard, Jungkook studied thoroughly his hyung’s feature and seeing that he wasn’t going to get much from it, he sighed and asked the older man to follow him outside. Considering that the doctor’s lounge was no place for outsider to be in. But also because Ahn’s insisting gaze on Seokjin hyung was anything but subtle. Far from the woman’s scrutiny, Jungkook offered Seokjin hyung a cup of coffee, he had gotten at the cafeteria and lazily leaning against the rail preventing him to fall from the hospital’s roof, he asked sternly

“Now hyung, tell me the real reason of why you are here. And don’t try to make me believe that you’re here simply to see me because I’m not buying it. Is there something bothering you?”

“You sure know me well.” Seokjin hyung snorted out before sipping on his hot coffee, looking at the view the roof’s hospital provided them. Jungkook, on the other hand didn’t detach his eyes from his hyung, feeling somewhat an odd aura coming from the older man. As if he was carrying a burden in which he wasn’t sure if he could talk about or not. Jungkook didn’t push the man into sharing whatever that was bothering him however. Instead, he silently waited for the man to come to terms with whatever turmoil he was in. When Seokjin finally did, he said almost in a whisper, his back still turned

“I’m gay.”

At first Jungkook wasn’t really sure he heard it right. Can anyone blame him? After all, it was Kim Seokjin that we were talking about. The very man that literally collected women’s after women. So he couldn’t have heard it right. Yet, from the way Seokjin finally dared to look at him, Jungkook knew for a fact that he wasn’t imagining things at all. Which was worse. Because then he didn’t know what it was he supposed to do. Was he supposed to comfort him? Did he want to be comforted? Is it something to be sad about or instead proud of? Jungkook had no clue as in what he was supposed to do. So he only remained silent, listening to Seokjin continue absent mindedly

“I told my parents the day I came back. Wanting to come clean with them but of course they didn’t understand. My father threatens to disown me if I don’t get myself treated immediately. He won’t even look at me now. To him, I’m like some plague he has to avoid at all cost. Mother won’t stop crying, saying that I’m bad son. That I had to become normal again. To her, the two years away from civilization and in general woman’s were to blame. Ever since, she literally throws woman after woman at me. For these past weeks, I played along with it, but after yesterday’s disaster I’m fed up with all these pretense. And even more girls’ drama. I know you must be disgusted right? How can I like men? Its ok, I don’t blame. It’s only natural to be disgusted. I just don’t want to pretend to be something I’m not anymore. And I just thought I should be the one telling you about it instead of someone else.”

Chuckling a bit for the somewhat overdramatic man, Jungkook turned his head halfway to see the view behind him and in a reassuring tone, he said

“What the hell are you spouting? So what if you like guys? Does that make you a different person from the person i was talking to a minute ago? Besides, you are many things hyung but disgusting isn’t one of them. I would know.” Finally facing Jungkook uncertain but somehow hopeful, Seokjin asks hesitantly

“So, you’re… Not disgusted by me?”

“Hyung, whatever the gender you’re attracted to doesn’t make you any less my hyung. You know I’m the last person on this freaking planet to judge you. And as for uncle and auntie, they wouldn’t disown you. You’re their only child. They’re probably just in shock. Give them time and they’ll come around when they’re ready.”

Seokjin wasn’t that optimistic alas. He knew his father too well to know that for him, having a deficient son like he now likes to call Seokjin, would never be acceptable. His parents care too much of appearances to accept Seokjin’s ual orientation. He tried not to burden Jungkook with it though, already grateful for the younger man for not turning his back on him. The little support was more than enough already. Breathing out a breath he hadn’t know he was holding, Seokjin looked fondly at his younger dongsaeng and states quietly

“I left home.” Jungkook head turned so fast from the words, he wasn’t surprised he hadn’t dislocated his spine from the abrupt gesture, but honestly right now that detail was the last of his worry. With wide eyes, Jungkook asked evidently shook by the news

“You did what? And to live where?”

“I’ve rented a small apartment above a restaurant. I haven’t been there yet, but I’ve spoken with the owner on the phone a week ago, he says that I can move in later today. Also, he’s the owner of the restaurant I’ll be living just above. And it seems like he’s short on an employer. I told him that I needed a job so he offered the position and in return he’ll make me pay half of the rent. I’m starting tomorrow. So far, it seems like my lucky star is finally smiling at me.”

Seokjin smiled giddily at him and Jungkook just couldn’t find the heart to disapprove his rush decision. Then again, if it made him happy, it couldn’t be that bad right?

“Call me when you settle down and I’ll come over ok then hyung?” Jungkook said while he was accompanying his older friend to the hospital exit door. Seokjin smiled happily at him and nodding in response, he was about to retort something but accidently bumped into someone. The bump hadn’t been that strong but it was enough to make him drop his phone. Hearing the other person cursed, Seokjin was going to crush him for even cursing as if he was the one at fault, but the words were caught in his throat. Again, he was unable to speak or even look away. This man… It’s…

"Be more careful.” Seokjin barely heard a woman’s voice said. He didn’t spare a glance to the woman though. Instead, he somehow managed to tear his eyes away from the good looking man before him and proceeded to pick his phone but the said Namjoonie beat him to it and grabbed the phone instead.

After checking it wasn’t broken, he returned it to Seokjin and much to Seokjin’s confusion, he said

“I’m sorry. It’s my fault I wasn’t looking. Are you ok?” Could it be that he didn’t remember Seokjin? Now that was a first. His face was normally unforgettable. Was he that drunk yesterday?

“I’m really sorry.” The man before Seokjin once again apologized before flashing him a half smile and turning away from Seokjin. Instinctively, Seokjin followed the man every movement until he disappeared in the elevator. Once again, Seokjin was left perplex as in why he was oddly feeling queasy. It was like there was something he had forgotten and he just could put his finger on what. It’s the second time he met the man and somehow, the stranger left him on edge. Jungkook must’ve noticed the bothered look Seokjin wore, for he gently clasped him by the shoulder and asked with furrowed eyebrows

“Hyung, are you ok?”

“Hm? Ah yeah.”

“Seems like he didn’t recognize you. The girl however did from the way she was glaring at you.”

“Yeah, guess so.” Seokjin said blankly, his voice sounding weirdly so far from his own ears. Finally turning away from where the pair had disappeared at, Seokjin made his way out of the building after bidding his goodbye to Jungkook. Unaware that ever since he crossed Namjoon’s path, their path will forever be linked.

Chapter 24: Jeeey they finally got together (after so much denial and problems). I was a tiny bit afraid that Taehyung would have boarded the plane and Jungkook was too late, but this happy end is perfect!
