Chapter 16:

Feelings

Taehyung was focused in not taking the wrong turn when he hears Jungkook groan beside him. It didn’t seem like he was in pain though. Unconsciously running his hand on his forehead to make sure Jungkook wasn’t catching a cold, he lets out a sigh of relief at the warm temperature. Jungkook was probably just wasted. He was about to pull his hand away but was surprised instead when he felt Jungkook’s hand wrap gently around his and basically intertwine with his fingers. The action felt so natural that it left the oldr man skeptical.

Taehyung felt oddly uneasy. Ok, maybe it wasn’t so odd. But what was odd to begin with, was it the fact that he didn’t pull away despite every logical reason for him to do so? Actually, he liked the feelings. And coming from someone like him, someone who hadn’t felt anything at all when being touched by potential girlfriend, it was a big deal. It had been sometime since he thought that maybe he was gay but no man has ever made him feel anything but indifference so he quickly abandon the idea. Yet, why wasn’t he pulling away from Jungkook’s hold? It was clear that Jungkook was too drunk to know what he was really doing anyway. Thus, it didn’t feel right to take advantage of that. Finally, pulling his hand away from Jungkook’s grip, he clasped the wheel with both his hands, mentally scolding his heart to quiet the hell down. Gosh, for a first time since his birth, having his heart race so fast, certainly was a pain. When they finally reached their destination, Taehyung lets out a sigh, not sure if it was because of clear exasperation or a way to calm his still irregular heartbeat. He bends over Jungkook’s body to remove his seatbelt. The task done, he walked to Jungkook’s side and helping him out of the car, he asked while walking up the steps to his front door

“Jungkook ah, what is your code?” Jungkook lets out what seem to be a whimper, consequently, Taehyung decided to go for plan B. Pulling out Jungkook’s phone from his pocket, he sat him on the steps of his porch and after going through his contact, thank God he didn’t have any password on his phone, he finally dials the number of the one person who can definitely save him the hassle of breaking into Jungkook’s house.

“Hello?” Came the man’s questioning tone. Taehyung slipped Jungkook’s phone back into the younger man vest and said apologetically

“Oh hey it’s me Taehyung. I’m sorry for calling you out of nowhere but would you happen to know Jungkook’s code to his house?”

After Seokjin gave him the information, Taehyung thanked him and apologizing once again, he finally hung up the phone. When they were finally in, Taehyung couldn’t help but let out a whistle, evidently impressed by the house, as he looked around curiously. Helping Jungkook to his bed, Taehyung took his shoes muttering to himself

“Gee, to think I’m actually taking off your shoes right now. And someone younger than me beyond that. Damn my life. You so owe me when you wake up.”

By the time, he finished helping him onto his bed and leaving a bucket next to his bed in case the drunk man were to throw up, he said softly

“Hey, here’s a bucket. I’m going to leave it next to you in case you want to throw up ok?”

Jungkook opened blearily his eyes, ran his hand through his head and after a glance to Taehyung, he laid his head back to his pillow and stammered painfully

“Gosh I don’t feel good at all.”

“I bet you don’t. Come on, drink a bit of water. You need to stay hydrated.” Taehyung advised, helping him to sit up. Jungkook was still dozing off alas, thus, Taehyung pulled his back against his chest and made him drink a bit of water. Thankfully, Jungkook wasn’t that hard to handle. Compared to Jimin, it was basically like going picnic when taking care of a drunk Jungkook. He was then about to move away when Jungkook asked him out of nowhere

“What is love?”

“Uhm?” Was all Taehyung could say in response. What else could he say anyway? Taehyung was far from flustered to say the least. More like he felt a slightly bit put on the spot. He quickly got over it though and answered accordingly to what he thought love was as someone who had grew up seeing his grandparents love life, and well other stuff he read, although he doubted it to be 100% accurate but since they were having a deep conversation why not give his all, besides it’s not like Jungkook will remember any of it in the morning

“I guess it’s… Just being with someone who makes you feel comfortable. It’s like you’re constantly having this aching need to be with that person. No matter where she is, you’ll race to her in a heartbeat if she asked you to. Not only is she the one able to make you feel things you normally don’t feel, but she changes you into someone better. No, wait that sounds wrong, actually, she doesn’t change you but instead inspires you to become better. But she’s also the only one person who can push your button so far that you feel like going mad. And yet, she only has to smile at you or show you consideration for you to forget it all. My grandfather said that when he met my grandmother, they didn’t like each other at all. But then as time went by and they found out more about each other, they slowly got attached to each other. It didn’t happen at once but it was the years where he understood what love really meant. It starts first with you remembering the little thing about the other. And then you’ll follow her with your eyes and then as time goes by, you’ll be drawn to that person. You’ll even get possessive. Unconsciously, you’ll be picking up the little things about her. In the end, that habit of wanting to know will turn into something else. Something deeper. At least, that’s what my old man told me.”

Taehyung finally left the bed for his initial seat on a chair next to Jungkook’s bed. Jungkook, who looked like he was slightly steadier, in appearance at least, just propped his back against the head of his king size bed. Taehyung had to admit that the thoughtful posture Jungkook has then even though he was clearly still buzzed from so much booze, was really cute. So it comes with no surprise that Taheyung feels the need to tease his protege but of course with a soothing tone

“Why are you asking? Are you in love?”

Jungkook, a little too aggressively, ran his fingers through his hair and answered rather frustratingly

“Apparently I am.”

If Taehyung had been hit by the lightning it wouldn’t have been close to what he was feeling at the younger man’s words. Somehow, Taehyung felt uneasy on the subject. He wasn’t exactly THE person to talk about love with anyway. He cleared uncomfortably his throat and after a minute of hesitation, he said ruefully

“I don’t really know what to say to help you then.”

At those words, his phone vibrated loudly in his pocket. Pulling it out, he answered

“Yes, hello? Oh Seokjin ssi? ... Ah yes, thank you very much you’ve really helped me a lot.”

Smiling unintentionally at the latter, he was about to reassure Seokjin that his little bro was ok but before he could, Jungkook took the device from Taehyung’s hand, rudely hung up, therefore preventing Taehyung to even finish his conversation with Seokjin, and harshly glares at him. Taehyung was about to ask him what the hell he was doing, alas, Jungkook beats him to it as he hissed frustratingly

“Stop paying attention to others. Not when you're in front of me.”

“What are you…?” He began, alas, Taehyung never got to finish his sentence as he felt lips crash harshly onto his. It was anything but tender. It almost felt desperate. But at the same time angry. Taehyung couldn’t quite decide on how to describe it. Even less, why did he feel so… Calm about it. Almost as if, he didn’t mind it at all. And deep down maybe he didn’t. He was no kid anymore. He could still differentiate what’s real for what’s not and right now, what he felt was more real than what he had ever felt when kissed by others before. Plainly put, this kiss, Jungkook, was making him feel things he had never felt before and that alone scare the out of him. Pushing him away a bit too violently, Taehyung instinctually brought his fist to Jungkook’s face except that he doesn’t hit him in the end. He should’ve. It would be totally natural if he did, right? But he doesn’t. Grabbing his stuff hastily, Taehyung said in a tone he hoped calm

“I think you’ve drank too much. Just get some sleep. I’ll see you at work. Make sure to hydrate yourself.”

Basically running down the stairs and into his car, Taehyung didn’t immediately start the car whatsoever. Instead, he looked for a while, in some sort of trance, towards Jungkook’s dark room not really sure what to think at all. From what he knew from Jungkook he wouldn’t have thought he was gay. At least, he didn’t seem like he swung that way. Then again, Taehyung didn’t have a problem with him being gay but more the fact that he kissed him and he liked it. The hell was wrong with him? Was he finally finding out his uality? Damn it, his parents will kill him if he turned out gay. No, no, it was only the spur of the moment, he tried to reason but with how his heart was beating so fast and the freaking butterflies in his stomach he knew it was no spur of the moments and that only make him even more anxious. Resting his head on his wheel, he whispered in a stifle voice

“Damn, I’m screwed. How can I like a kiss that taste like liquor?”

Like him, Jungkook who was strangely more sober now, felt like seriously hitting his head against the wall for his stupid action. Like why the hell did he think it would be a great idea to kiss him? And being drunk to top it all? At least, he now had the answers of many of the questions he’s been having recently. He actually liked the older man. No, not liked, was totally and hopelessly in love with him. The kiss was only a bit of what he had wanted to do to the man. Even dead drunk, all it took was just one kiss to put everything in perspective. It really sounded like some ty soap opera even to him but that was how he felt as stupid as it sounds. In any case, what was he supposed to do now? He couldn’t be gay. At least, his parents can’t find out that he was. Hang on was he really gay or just attracted to Taehyung hyung. After all before Taehyung hyung, he never even glanced twice at a man. Even now, the thought of kissing or making out with a man made him want to throw up. Yet, when he pictured it to be Taehyung, his heart picked up instantly. Damn it, his parents can never find out. But then what to do about this aching need he had to claim the man as his? He never had to give up anything in his life so having to do it now, and for something he had never wanted so badly, left a bitter taste in his mouth. Was this some sort of punishment? He didn’t know but it sure as hell hurt like .

Jungkook didn’t sleep that night. Nor did he call anyone or have seen anyone throughout the weekends. He even went so far as calling in sick when Monday came.

With his back against the wall, his head hang low and his arms dangling loosely on top of his knee, he silently sat outside his balcony feeling… Well, basically experiencing his first heartbreak. He felt stupid for even letting himself be this beat down but no matter how much experience he had at faking his emotions, this time around he was worn out for doing it. At least until he gets the courage to finally face the music, he didn’t want to do anything but just be real with himself. So many times, he had wanted to call Taehyung hyung to just confess his feelings or even lie that he had forgotten everything but he couldn’t. Or more like he didn’t want to. Not now at least.

Jungkook didn’t even move when he heard footsteps climb up the stairs to his room. Nor did he turn his head to face the person, which he knew was only Seokjin for he alone knew his code well now Taehyung hyung too but he doubts he’ll be the one visiting him in his home after what happened. As expected, it was indeed Seokjin and true to himself, the older man immediately pointed out the obvious: His room was a bloody mess. Jungkook didn’t feel like cleaning up anyway. And honestly, he was in no mood to talk either. He wasn’t in the mood for anything. Still without turning, he heard Seokjin fall carelessly on his bed and asked, much to Jungkook’s dismay

“Good to see that you’re not dead. What happen to you? It’s been three days since you’ve called. I even heard from Taetae that you didn’t go to work today too? What’s up with you?”

At the familiar nickname, Jungkook, very mature of himself, wanted to pummel the guy for sounding so familiar with his love in… His mentor. Crap, was he seriously jealous right now? For goodness sake, Jungkook get a grip of yourself. Missing the knowing smile Seokjin had on, he retort, feigning indifference

“I’m sick.”

“Oh, you are? It doesn’t seem that bad though. I should probably call Taetae and reassure him that you’re fine then. He was really worried you know?”

That’s just the kind of guy he is. Even if his nemesis was close to death, Taehyung hyung will still risk his life to help him. Just as the kind hearted idiot that he is, Jungkook thought bitterly.

“Well as you can see I’m fine. I’m still a bit hangover that’s all.” Jungkook told him, his eyes fixed at the view.

“It’s been three days already since then. How can you still be hangover?” Seokjin countered in a tone Jungkook didn’t particularly like. He sighed

“Yeah well I am. Hyung, I’m sorry but I’m not really in the mood so can you just…?”

“What did you do the night Taehyung ssi brought you here?” Seokjin interrupted. Jungkook snapped his head up and frowning deeply, he studied his older friend’s expression and when he finally caught on what was hidden underneath the man’s smirk, he snapped angrily

“You planned it didn’t you?”

“Hey, I only asked Taehyung to drop you off. What happened next isn’t any of my doing? Just why are-you mad at me anyway. Did something happen?”

Although, Seokjin looked innocent at some degree, Jungkook couldn’t fully buy the man’s act. In fact, he had the nagging feeling that he was somehow to blame for at least a part of night. But only a bit. The rest it was all HIM. He was the one who got jealous. He was the one that kissed Taehyung. It was all him. Seokjin hyung had nothing to do with it. Seeing as Jungkook didn’t seem ready to talk, Seokjin dropped his teasing attitude and in a more reassuring and comforting tone, he said

“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. I won’t pry. I’m just worried about you. Just know you can talk to me if you want to. I won’t ever judge you.”

“I know.” Jungkook retorted quietly. Jungkook wanted to tell him. To just say what was slowly eating him up but he couldn’t. He already knew what Seokjin hyung would tell him. Unfortunately he couldn’t just follow his heart, as he could guess Seokjin hyung will advise him. He had duties. A reputation to live up to.

“I’m just sick. I’ll recover soon.” Jungkook finally said, turning his gaze to Seokjin.

Seokjin was pained to say the least. Seeing Jungkook lie so easily and putting up once again that mask, that stupid must pretend goodie oh shoes son honestly hurt him. He’d like to tell him it’s ok to feel what he is feeling but Seokjin knew better than to do so. He also went through it. The denial stage was painful and confusing but Seokjin knew Jungkook would be fine. After all, he had Seokjin by his side.

Taehyung was frustrated. Even when Jungkook came back after three days, Taehyung wasn’t exactly in his right mind yet. He thought he would be but of course his dead heart were now keeping him more awake than if he gobbled down a tank of caffeine. Like why the hell was he noticing the little things about Jungkook now of all time? Why the hell was he so aware of his presence all of a sudden? Damn there was so many things that was just so out of the ordinary that he seriously contemplated making an appointed with a therapist. Even then, he doubted that a professional can actually do much for him. Taehyung tried to remain normal and be as he usually was with Jungkook, like the other man was with him, but at times he’ll slip out of his character and do things that was just straight out weird. And then there was the other issue that just made it darn hard for him to remain focus. Likely every one’s nightmare. Having the recollection of being kissed and yet the other party didn’t. And in this case, after days of nothingness, it was more than clear to him that Jungkook didn’t remember anything at all. In other words, he should just forget about it too right? After all, it wasn’t like he could just walk up to Jungkook and ask him question about something he evidently forgot. What good would it do him knowing anyway? Obviously, Jungkook had just drank way to much that night so it was only an involuntary act, something that happens a lot when you have your mind clouded with alcohol, and plus Jungkook was only but just a child. Ok not really a child but Taehyung had a couple of years more in his advantage, all the more reason to not be some creepy dude and talk about something as small as just a kiss. Taehyung was not jerk enough to make Jungkook go through pointless hardship or discomfort. And if he really did have feelings for the younger man, eventually they’ll go away. It couldn’t be that deep if he only realize them now. Moreover, he had his family to think about. Taehyung didn’t like to think that he was the type to care a lot of what other people thought of him and honestly he didn’t. Even if he gave out the aura of being very considerate to other people, he was by far the most selfish man in the world. Thus, if he had the single guarantee this love actually had a reason to be regardless of it being with a man or an alien, he’ll fight for that love. How can love be wrong anyway if it comes from the heart? And in his case, the occasion would be too exceptional for him to let it pass him by for a question of gender. He knew his grandfather will support him anyway. He’ll only have his parents to handle but then again Taehyung was always ready to face them. Even just have a heart to heart conversation with them.

Alas, things weren’t that simple for Taehyung. Even though he was now sure he had some feeling, who was he kidding, he actually wanted to kiss the air out of the boy, he couldn’t. Firstly because Jungkook obviously wasn’t gay and that kiss was simply him being drunk. Come to think of it, Taehyung didn’t think he was gay either. Weirdly, he only wanted Jungkook THAT way. When picturing himself with other man it sort of scared the out of him. In brief, he was attracted to Jungkook, exclusively. Confusing? Yeah, he thinks so too. But secondly, and the most important one out of the other hundredth reasons that kept him for pursuing his love, Jungkook had a girlfriend.

Frankly, Taehyung wasn’t surprised at all, given the charms Jungkook had. But the girl being Ahn was a shocker. From his observation at least, Jungkook had never seem to show sign of being into the young lady at all. Taehyung wasn’t saying that Ahn wasn’t pretty enough for Jungkook of course, but he just never expected it. Yet, it did have some sense at some point. Like for instance, it could explain why he was suddenly so curious about love or why he looked so down the night they were out drinking. Ahn couldn’t make it thus the reason why he was so wasted. Just how can he have not notice it? He usually can smell two people in love 50 miles away so how did he not see it? How did he not realize that Jungkook was in love with Ahn?

Letting out what had to be the hundredth sigh of the day, he finally stood up from his chair and grabbing his clipboard finally exasperated by his own thought, he went for his usual round. Work was the best remedy in keeping his mind from wandering too much.

“Dr Kim, you’re still here?” He suddenly heard Mrs Hong Nan remark. Truth be told, he didn’t really pay attention for how long he was here. But after glancing at the clock, he couldn’t help but let out a curse at how awfully late he was. Darn it, how come he didn’t realize that he was up running in the hospital for already 11 hours straight? If he doesn’t quickly get in his car and drive to xx for their camping, Jimin is going to cook him alive.

“Language young man.” Mrs Hong Nan scolded softly, more amused rather than shocked. Taehyung bit his lower lip out of frustration and whined pathetically

“Sorry. Geez, just how dense can I be? Arrgh! Is Jimin still here?”

“Nope. I’ve seen him leave an hour ago I think.”

“Oh my Gosh, I am so dead.” Taehyung lamented with a grimace that was enough to make Mrs Hong Nan laugh.

“I heard you were going camping.” She smiled.

“How do you know that?”

“Ahn wouldn’t shut up about it. She said she was so excited since it be her first outdoor trip with Dr Jeon as her lover.” Taehyung managed somehow to not cringe at the very love sick reaction Ahn had and bid his goodbyes with the older lady.

After a quick stop at his apartment to grab the strict necessary for the weekend, he practically threw his stuff in the trunk of his car, he finally drove to xx. It hadn’t been 10 min since he was on the road his phone suddenly rang and he didn’t need to look to know who it was. He expected it anyway. Putting his phone on speaker, he answered coolly

“Hello.”

“What do you mean hello you bastard? Do I have to remind you that you were the one who wanted us to go camping so why the hell aren’t you here first? It’s only an hour drive anyway if you take the highway.” You sure can count on Jimin to make you sound like the biggest idiot in the world, Taehyung thought before apologizing bluntly, not convince that lying would do much to ease Jimin’s mood. Furthermore, Taehyung had the feeling he wasn’t entirely mad at him. Ok maybe he was if Yoongi was already there before he could tell Jimin himself that he had invited the man.

“You can shove your apologies where I’m thinking and get your over here. You’ve got a lot of explaining to do.” Guess he knows, Taehyung guessed with a -I’m-in-trouble pout.

“Ok Chimchim, you’ll talk about your disappointment with him later.” Taehyung recognized Hoseok’s voice in the background. Inwardly reminding himself to thank the older man when he arrives, he listened some rustling, probably Hoseok taking the phone from Jimin’s hand, he said in his usual cool tone

“Hey brat.”

“Ah hyung. Don’t call me that. I have a name you know?” Taehyung whined playfully, getting a laugh from Hoseok in return. It was one of the thing he loved about Hoseok. With him, he just felt like everything was better. Like nothing could ever be that bad because he was there. Odd enough Hoseok was the true reason one none of them had just ceases out and burn. In their lows, Hoseok had always knew how to cheer them on. Sometime he’ll do it in a rather aggressive way. And other time, he’ll silently comfort you. So the fact that he was there along with Namjoon hyung and Jimin made him feel a slightly bit better. At least, he would be able to tame better his urges that way. The is he saying? He sounded so much like a ert there.

“And you know that I don’t really care. Anyway, since you’re the only one who’s not here yet do you think you can go pick up Ga Yeon noona?”

“Why? I thought she was supposed to ride with you.”

“She was but she said she had to meet someone first and told me to go on ahead. I thought she had another ride then but turns out that she doesn’t so can you go get her? I guess she thought we’ll all be here already and so she didn’t ask any of us to fetch her because she doesn’t want to bother us but since you’re still downtown, swing at her apartment to get her, ok?” Hoseok told him. Taehyung didn’t have to be told twice and said without hesitation

“Ok deal. But until I get there, you think you can handle everything at the camp? I mean, I’m sure you’ve already caught on things right?” Hoseok only laughed thus Taehyung didn’t need to ask further. Hoseok only knew. Taehyung had never seen anyone who understood body language the way the Hoseok hyung did. It was at the same time fascinating and scary. Because it was practically like he could read your mind. And no one likes the feeling of being uncover by another. Especially when they are secret you don’t want the world to know. But Taehyung had always admired that side of Hoseok. Until today of course. Because for the first time in his life, Taehyung had a secret he didn’t want anyone to know of. A secret of his, he preferred having buried deep in his heart.

“Just make sure to get here before lunch. You do realize that I’ve been here since 8 in the morning and I’ve had to hear like a zillion time Namjoon tell me how important it was to cut the fruits now or it would lose its taste. And Yoongi hyung seem like he’s in a really bad mood. Oh and your interns? They really need to stop their face. It’s disgusting. However this Seokjin dude, I don’t know but he feels oddly familiar. Just get here already. I hate having to talk on the phone. Reminds me of work.”

Taehyung laughed a bit at the words, and trying to ignore the little stab at the mention of Jungkook and Ahn, he answered

“Ok, I’ll do my best.”

After hanging up, Taehyung rubbed his face out of frustration and firmly rebuked himself

“My Gosh, Taehyung you’re not some teenager for crying it out loud. Just it up already.”

At the camp, Hoseok felt extremely uncomfortable. All the people that was surrounding him look just utterly miserable that it hurt his eyes. The two kids, Taehyung interns, were just as pathetic. Mainly the boy. He looked… weird. Even when they were literally all over each other, at least the girl was, the boy seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but here. And then there was Namjoon and Seokjin. Hoseok had already witness the friction between the two men but strangely, what had been between them then has greatly change ever since. They looked… different. Like they went past their differences. Then again it didn’t mean they were now best friend. Hoseok didn’t loiter on them long however as another pair turned out to be a bigger eye sore than the two other pairs. Geez, just what the hell were they doing? Hoseok couldn’t help but think as he watched Yoongi hyung and Jimin. The fact that both looked seemingly unhappy unnerve him to no end. He didn’t try to interfere whatsoever. Lovers quarrel weren’t his thing. Hoseok only just found out, for like less than an hour that Yoongi was in love with Jimin and possibly Jimin was still in denial, so he really didn’t want to get tangle up in that situation. Although they seriously needed to talk if not, this camp will only be even more insufferable than it is already. At least Ga Yeon noona and Taehyung were part of this trip. Because seriously this atmosphere was really ty.

“Tae, hurry up before I kill someone.” He whispered quietly, busying himself with his tent.

“Ga Yeon noona?” Taehyung called while keeping his eyes fixed on the road.

“Oh hey Tae, what’s up? Is everything going well at the camp?” Ga Yeon noona came from his phone. Taehyung made a U turn and engaging in a less crowded road, he answered

“I don’t know. I’m not there yet.”

“What do you mean you’re not there yet? Geez Tae don’t tell me you got absorbed by work again. Seriously kid you’re the one who suggested going camping. Shouldn’t you be more aware of your responsibility here?” Ga Yeon let out and although she wasn’t in front of Taehyung, it wasn’t so hard for him to imagine just how Ga Yeon noona’s lips must be curved into a thin line, certainly unhappy and a slight frown, enough to convey her disappointment. At the mental image, Taehyung almost laughed but he refrained and countered

“What can I say? I’m a rebel. Anyway where are you? Tell me so I can pick you up.”

“And make you be far later than you are already? No thanks.”

“Noona, where are you?” Taehyung said in a more firm tone and at the non-response of the older woman, he guessed she must’ve been taken aback. So in a calmer tone, he continued

“Look, don’t ask me too many questions but I need you there. I need you and Hoseok hyung to help me. I can’t do this alone.”

“I’m home.” Ga Yeon noona immediately replied and honestly, Taehyung couldn’t be happier. So in a grateful tone, he muttered softly

“Thank you noona.”

By the time they arrived at the camp, it was luckily an hour before lunch. Which meant Hoseok wasn’t a threat to his life anymore. Unfortunately, Jimin wasn’t. The minute he had his best friend across the empty preserve, Taehyung avoided him for a second and proceeded to greet everything first. He’ll get his share of insult from Jimin later. Walking up first to Hoseok hyung and Namjoon hyung and giving them a brief hug, they exchanged a few pleasantries before he walked up to Yoongi hyung. The man looked like he was ready to kill. And honestly, Taehyung hoped he wasn’t the target. Clasping the man’s hand for a firm handshake, Taehyung said

“Thanks for coming. I didn’t know if you’ll accept the invitation.”

“Well I’m starting to think that I shouldn’t have come here in the first place.” Yoongi retorted coldly. Taehyung didn’t get intimidated by it for all that matter, instead he gave him a genuine smile and countered

“And I think it’s a great thing you came. I never really had the chance to thank you for what you did.”

“What I did?” Yoongi asked, finally having an expression other than the cold aura he had on.

“For covering me when I went to Daegu. During the blue and red training. Although Jimin also helped but still thanks for talking with our superiors to not penalize the kids. Really. Thank you.”

“Uhm” Was all Yoongi hyung said in response. And truthfully, it was all Taehyung needed to know the man was less uncomfortable. Or more like, felt more welcome than he must’ve felt when arriving here.

Walking towards Seokjin hyung, he thanked him too and after throwing a joke at the couple sitting in their tent, legs out, he finally began unpacking. Very much ready for Jimin’s lecture. It never came however. Instead, he heard Ga Yeon noona laugh at some things Ahn said before she came over to me and asked

“Tae can you help me with my tent?”

“Oh crap.” Taehyung suddenly said taking his head in his hand. Ga Yeon noona frowned at the sudden action and questioning Taehyung with an elegant rise of her eyebrow, Taehyung explained

“I forgot my tent.” Ga Yeon noona bursts out laughing then messing up Taehyung’s hair like she usually does, she said slightly relief

“Geez you scared me there. I thought you forgot something really important.”

“But it is important where am I going to sleep then?”

“It’s ok, you can either sleep with one of the boys or with me. I don’t mind.”

“Ooh, is that an invitation?” Taehyung playfully asked but Ga Yeon noona only rolled her eyes in response. She was already used of Taehyung’s antic. Softly flipping Taehyung on the forehead, she reprimanded

“If you’re only going to be saying stupid stuff you can sleep by the fire tonight. Geez.” Taehyung chuckled at the white threat and finally help set Ga Yeon noona’s tent. Missing the look Jungkook gave him and Ga Yeon noona’s interaction. Nor the way he sighed unconsciously at the weekend that was announcing to be long. Even though he was glad to be reunited with his pals, he honestly wasn’t sure how the outcome of this camp would be. He hoped it would be a good one at least.

“Jungkook ah, do you mind grabbing the charcoal’s in my trunk for the fire?” He unconsciously asked after being done with the tent, and moving on to fixing the fire. Why did Jungkook’s name came out so naturally he wasn’t sure? Maybe the habit but he instantly regret calling out for him when Ahn stopped Jungkook on his way and giving him a kiss on the cheek, she said

“Don’t worry. I’ll get it. I know you’re already busy with helping Namjoon Oppa.”

Turning to Taehyung next, she declared

“I’ll go get it.” In a cheerful tone.

Forcing a smile in response, Taehyung thanked the young lady before returning to his task at hand. Well trying to not overthink too much. For that would only aggravate him.

Like him Jungkook was seriously in a very bad mood. He tried not to let it show of course but it was really hard to stay indifferent when Ahn was practically shooting a love story on her own. Geez, just what possessed him to get into a relationship anyway. That’s what you get when you take relationships lightly. They have only been dating less than a week and he felt like he had been in this torture since birth. No kidding, how can girls be this clingy and just overly affectionate. Jungkook scoffed at that as he too wanted to be affectionate and just cling to a certain blond man but of course, he quickly shoved the urge aside and instead tried to be as normal as possible. Except that what was normal really meant? He didn’t know anymore. He had wanted to talk about it with Seokjin hyung but ever since Jungkook had started dating Ahn, he was always irritated with him. So he dropped trying to do so and instead, focused more in keeping his composure. On keeping the appearances.

Around lunch, everyone finally got their tent set up. At the same time, Namjoon finally finished preparing for the food. Helping the man preparing for the table with the help of silent Seokjin hyung, they all finally gathered around the long table to eat. At the same time, Taehyung hyung suggested enthusiastically “So after this how about I give you a tour?” Jimin hyung, helped himself with the ramen and answered blankly

“I’m kind of tired so I think I’m going to rest first.”

“Yeah, me too.” Adds Namjoon hyung. The girl, Ga Yeon noona, rolled her eyes at the two men and pulling up her sleeves, she said

“For goodness sake, what’s up with this ambiance? I mean if we’re here why not do everything now instead of regretting it later? Namjoonie you can catch up with your sleep tonight. You too Jiminie. Come on guys, we’re out in the nature. There’s so much we can do and you want to sleep? You can’t be serious?”

“I think they are.” Hoseok supplies, with apparent uninterested. As did Yoongi hyung who continued eating wordlessly.

But just like that, the Ga Yeon chick manage to force Jimin hyung and Namjoon hyung to tag along with them to their little expedition. Jungkook, frankly, didn’t know if he should like the girl or not. He decided he did not when he saw her so close to Taehyung. And just touching him so much. Geez, if that woman did not stop now he feared not being able to restrain himself. For now, he manage it pretty well. But he doubted he’ll be able to stay this cool if she grabs his hand again.

“Jungkook ah…?” He could hear Ahn trying to get his attention but he was barely conscious at all. Even when he felt her hands grab his, he still had his eyes fixed on Taehyung hyung.

He managed to snap out of it when he felt someone lean on him to his ears and whispered

“Don’t be so obvious in front of your girl.” Taken aback by Seokjin’s word, he looked at him weirdly, wondering if Seokjin knew what he thought he had carefully buried. It seems like he did. No wonder he was mad at him for dating a girl. Seokjin hyung was probably hurt at the fact that Jungkook was denying his feelings for a man. He hoped though that Seokjin would at least try and understand him. Then again for that, Jungkook would have to actually talk to him about it. But frankly, Jungkook didn’t dare to do so. Not when his determination was already wavering so much.

After an hour worth of walk, Taehyung finally breathed out his back turn

“We’re here.” Hoseok who was the closest to him, grabbed him by the wrist before he had the chance to push what looked like a gate leading to a private property, something quite odd considering how deep in the forest they were, he questioned still struggling to catch his breath

“Hang on, are you sure we can go in here?”

“It’s written private property Tae. Is it normal?” Jimin wondered, himself not very sure if he wanted to take the risk of being chased out with a gun. People leaving in the outskirt of South Korea weren’t always kind. Taehyung, who was unmoved by the sign, nodded and taking off the lock, he pushed the gate open reassuring in a light tone

“Don’t worry. We’re more than welcome here.”

“What do you mean by that? Do you know the owner of this place?” Namjoon asked, still hesitant. Taehyung laughed at the question and answered, in his usual carefree tone

“Of course not hyung. I’m from Daegu how can I know the owner of this place?”

“Then I don’t think we should…” Seokjin began, also now realizing how absurd this was becoming and although he had the reputation of a bad boy, he didn’t really want to face any juridical issue. Either now or ever.

“Come on, let’s just go.” Taehyung interrupted and proceeded into the huge hectares of the property.

“Should we go?” Asked Ahn quietly at Jungkook and although Jungkook thought it to be scary to just walk into a private property, seeing Taehyung’s confident back had the effect to put him at ease. And it wasn’t because of his feelings but from his experience with the older man. After all his ups and downs with Taehyung hyung, if there was one thing he had learned from them all it is that he can trust Kim Taehyung. And Jungkook did trust the man. So much that he could even trust his life to him. Scary, but it was a fact. It’s a fact.

“Jungkook ah.” Ahn’s voice snapped him out of it. She must’ve seen the confused look he had because she asked with a frown

“Did you hear me?” No, I didn’t, Jungkook had wanted to say, but he refrained and instead followed Taehyung establishing coldly

“Let’s just get this over with.” Seokjin who hadn’t moved an inch sighed tiredly at Jungkook’s behavior

“This kid is just impossible.” Missing the confused look Namjoon gave him, he finally followed the group tailing behind Taehyung.

“Taehyung, please tell me you actually know what you are doing? It’s a crime to trespass you know.” Jimin said, catching up with Taehyung. Taehyung knew the man was still bitter that he had invited Yoongi hyung without warning him first but he also knew how quickly Jimin got over things. If Jimin knew Taehyung more than anyone then he knew Jimin more than anyone. For instance, he knew that Jimin only pouted because he was caught off guard. And the reason he was now reprimanding him because they were walking on private grounds it was because he was worried. It was so Jimin Taehyung would like to say but he didn’t. Mainly, because Jimin was still too angry for him to do a joke.

“Yeah I’m aware.” Taehyung replied as they reached the top of the hill.

“Well, then why are we here?” Taehyung looked below them with a smile and answered mysteriously

“It’s the only path to where I want to show you.” Jimin was about to retort but was stopped by Ga Yeon noona’s hand who, minutes ago was unsure of following Taehyung, had now a soft smile on her face and shaking her head left and right she walked past Jimin and followed Taehyung now more at ease.

It wasn’t after a good thirty minutes before they reached what looked like a tiny little village hidden under humongous trees. The houses were about a dozen, probably more, but honestly it was just so beautiful especially because it was made by natural material. It looked very much like a house you’d see in the Amazon forest. The house were built like six feet above the ground but they were made in a very Korean traditional style. Something just so uncommon in Korea that it left everyone speechless. Taehyung excluded of course. Jungkook who was the closest to Taehyung had his attention snatched away from the impressive village and towards a man in particular when Taehyung walked up to him, asked happily

“Do you need a hand with that, stranger?” The man busy repairing his roof halted for a second on his task and slowly turning to Taehyung, Jungkook thought he’ll fall over if he came down any faster. Thankfully, he didn’t and practically crushing Taehyung hyung in a bear hug, he exclaimed enthusiastically

“Oh my Gosh, is it really you son? What did you do with your hair?”

“I was actually worried you wouldn’t recognize me because of my hair, it’s great to see that you do.” Taehyung answered finally pulling away from the hug. Well more like, be released from it. The older man feigned to be offended at the words and putting a hand over his chest, he said

“How could you doubt my love for you? You’re like a son to me. I’d be a sad excuse of a father if I didn’t recognize you.” Taehyung laughed at the objective logic, note the sarcasm, and seeming to remember that he wasn’t alone, he introduced excitedly

“Oh right where my manners are. Uncle, let me present you my friends. This is Namjoon hyung…”

“Oh the chef! Pleasure to meet you. I hope I’ll get to eat one of your succulent dish. Taehyung praises them so much that I’ve been praying to have a taste of them of my own. Of course I’m not forcing you.” The older man said in such a friendly way that Namjoon almost forgot how to properly talk. He did succeed in muttering a thank you though. Missing the amused look Taehyung had since it wasn’t every day that Namjoon gets this flustered, he continues

“This is Jiminie.”

“Ah, you’re his cute friend. Whoa, he does have a cute face. Hello, Taehyung talks wonders about you.” Jimin blushed, only just slightly at the comment and so Taehyung proceeded, although he felt like cracking up

“Here’s Hoseokie hyung.”

“The amazing dancer/chaebol. Very handsome.”

“Thank you sir.” Hoseok answered in a composed way, though Taehyung knew his hyung was anything but calm at that moment. Taehyung didn’t comment on it though and instead pursued

“And here’s Ga Yeon noona…”

“Oh your girlfriend?” Laughing at the subtle glare Ga Yeon noona threw Taehyung’s way, Taehyung clarified

“No she isn’t. We’re just friends.”

“Yep, just friends.” Insists Ga Yeon noona. The older man seem skeptic a bit but he didn’t push the subject further as he noticed the sour look a certain dark haired boy had at the discussion. He figured the boy was probably in love with Taehyung’s noona then. Of course, it was only an assumption. And because the boy seem in so much control with his emotions the older man wasn’t even sure if he did see a hint of jealousy there. Focusing his attention to the introduction, he learned the names of more people Taehyung had never mentioned before. He guessed it was because Taehyung didn’t know them then. The people that did make quite an impact to him amongst the people Taehyung had never mentioned before were certainly the three boys. Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi and Jeon Jungkook. The man didn’t know why but he assumed it was probably their mysterious demeanor. Of course he wasn’t saying it in a bad way of course but he somehow felt, no he saw, enormous pain and burden coming from them. Just how on earth did Taehyung get entangle with them? Eventually, he’ll find out later.

“Guys. This is Ga Shiwoo.” Taehyung pulled him out, the said man from his thought. Putting on his best smile, Shiwoo kindly suggested

“Just call me uncle. Every friends of Taehyung are my children.” Taehyung raised an eyebrow at that and gently putting his bag on the ground, he said

“Uncle, you really need to go out more. It’s creepy what you’re saying.”

“What do you mean creepy? It came from the bottom of my heart you punk.” Shiwoo retorted but Taehyung knew there were no hard feelings behind it.

“Ok, ok. But where is everyone?” Taehyung then asked already aware that uncle Shiwoo would win the argument in any case. So why waste time in doing something he already knew the outcome for?

“Oh they left to get what we need for tonight?”

“And what is happening tonight sir?” Asked this time Yoongi hyung who instantly had a large smile from Shiwoo. Smile that confused not only the group but Taehyung too.

“Yeah, what are you celebrating? It’s not the harvest festival nor any other festival habitually celebrated so why would they leave the village for?”

“A wedding.”
