“Nip in the freaking bud” Jungkook keeps his face straight showing no emotions which baffle you. Wait up, is this guy having his usual crazy time of the year? When is the last time he stops being super extra?

You cringe at his sudden nonsense “Stop spouting nonsense, and get your head in the game” you pat the pile of books in front of you.

Usually, you wont entertain Jungkook idiocy but due to the nature of your relationship with him, you will end up listening to him and nodding away in agreement. As much as you love your best friend sometimes you do think he fits to be in asylum.

“I am serious. That is thing that I have been looking for! NIP IN THE BUD” he exclaims while clapping his hands together like a intoxicate seal. Okay, to make it sound better seal is a cutesy whilst Jungkook is just an old hag that annoy the hell out of you.

“Gosh Jeon, get to the point. The hell is this ‘nip in the bud’, you are ruining my mood to revise” your eyes shoot daggers at his way.

Jungkook flashes that stupidly handsome smile again, which oddly send you a fuzzy feeling inside. Scratch that. You have been convincing yourself these days that Jeon Jungkook is just a boy friend not a boyfriend. The boundary that you set in spelling the word is paramount.

While “boy friend” simply means Jeon is one of the good guy friends that you have.

He is a good guy friend.

“I thought you score well in your exam. You practically nail every semesters, nip in the bud is suppose to be a piece of cake for you” he whines like a baby which you don’t understand.

What is the big deal of not knowing a simple idioms? It is not like you are majoring in language or something.

You snap the book in front of you with a frown “Stop fooling around. If you are not going to tell me then don’t. Plus you are not that bright too.. moron” grumbling angrily, you take the chance to kick his leg under the table.

“Im Yeoul, stop using violence!” he grinds his teeth together. Good thing, you decide to ignore him and continue to the information out from the books in front of you. Quality time with books are seen to be brighter than entertaining Jungkook’s nonsense.

Not long after when you think he stops pestering you with the stupid idioms that he finds from the book, Jungkook leans over the table just few inches from your face. Your grip on your pen weaken as you can feel his hot breath hitting your skin.

You have no idea why you are somehow attracted to him. That is definitely wrong in so many ways. Ugh, come on we are talking about Jeon Jungkook? He used to have a freaking snot plastered near his nose when he was eight, now who expects a dashing man in front of you is the same dirty boy years ago.

As much as your mind try to resist, Jungkook is slowly shaking the deepest core of your heart.

In other words, it is about time to find a legit boyfriend which is not Jungkook. Both of you grow up together or more like you do most of the job, raising puppy Jungkook. He seems to fail everything that he does without your existence in his life,all hail for Im Yeoul!

Guess, can you consider yourself as his own version of knight and shining armor?

“So.. ‘nip in the bud’ guess what it means?” you heard him challenge your intelligence level.

The corner of your lips twist into a slight pout “The act of nipping is like you are pecking a surface lightly but with a slight pinch. And, aint bud is the end of a friggin flower? Why do you nip the flower bud, gross” you reason.

Jungkook leans back in his seat, taking the chance to insult you “Hear yourself Im Yeoul. You sound stupid and silly” he cracks a grin liking the fact that for once you are clueless about something.

Since most of the time you are too quick to answer him, this one moment satisfies him.

“It simply means, to put a stop on something before it develops into something bigger” you gawk at his answer. You expect an extravagant answers since he is making such a big deal of this. Face palm in embarrassment of shameless Jungkook, you shake your head with a sigh.

“Can I disown you Jeon? You are embarrassing me..” you return your attention back on the assignments which suppose to be completed an hour ago. If it were not for Jungkook distracting you, you already get this assignment bind and deliver to your professor’s office.

In other words, you have to pull an all nighter tonight to complete your unfinished business. Well thanks to Jeon, yay.

Jungkook then continue to read other definition of the idioms with a serious face as if he is studying for his final exam “It also means to prevent a small problem getting worse by stopping it as soon as it starts” he hums with a slight frown.

“Why is this concern me? I mean what are you trying to indicate here” you give him a wary look.

“In a romantic way, nip in the bud is to put on a halt of my feelings for you before it spreads” you choke on your drinks and cough hard at his nonsense. With a bewildered look, you eyed the boy before you as he has been keeping that poker face of his for god more than one minute.

Your hand is itching to pull the strand of his hair and give him the best scalp massage of the century.

He breaks the staring contest between both of you and burst into a laugh upon seeing your priceless reaction “ You don’t actually fell for it don’t you?” Jungkook clutches onto his stomach while continue to laugh at your face.

‘..’ your face fell and for once there is hope sparks inside you. However, you are well aware it is too good to be truth. Plus both of you are not in that kind of relationship, you are the bestest friend in the world.
