The LUs (And Why You Should Avoid Them)

The world has become a strange place and God's probably up there shaking his head and regretting his life decisions a.k.a. creating humans from the start.

Humans are weird.

Like one day you'd be walking the streets, happily sipping on your to-go tumbler, the warm liquid of the instant coffee deliciously going to your throat, then BAM! Somebody approaches you then starts to spout something about how horrible you are for drinking coffee or did you even think about the plant who got rob of its berries, before then proceeds to say that you never did because you only think about yourself. And after they say those and make you feel like a complete for taking the mother plant's joy, they would leave like nothing happened; leaving you to question what had just conspired.

And maybe you would continue to think about the poor mother plant and how you're like one of those monsters who ate (well, drank) her offspring which then would lead you to stop drinking coffee out of guilt.

Of course, three days later you'd be back to drinking it because you human, coffees are meant to be drank!

But the point was, Humans are weird.

More often than not, those who you won't likely think of are the weirdest.

Turns out, when Yixing said 'Can I offer you a ride?' meant that the three of them could use his New-Gen Hyundai Verna and the other one was to ride with him. Of course because his brothers are traitors, they threw Jongdae straight to the crocodiles pit and drove away to salvation with their very own driver to guide them. The boy could only watch with glassy eyes while the back of the car disappear from his sights. Yixing is beside him waving with his dimpled smile still intact.

Yixing looks harmless enough.

In fact, he was the only one who didn't looked livid with the whole moving in thing. He simply stood behind Lu Han with a blank expression as the elder spat some rules.

But then again, he's still a Lu so he could be cursing them at the back of his mind as well. In addition, the feeling of something bad is about to happen is eating Jongdae alive.

"Shall we go as well?" Yixing suddenly asks which makes Jongdae jump from his spot. If the boy finds it strange, he didn't show. He simply smiles wider—flashing his single dimple which Jongdae has to admit is quite attractive—and motions him back to the mansion.

While confused and scared to why they are returning inside, Jongdae keeps his mouth shut in fear that he'd anger Yixing and they'd find him floating on the Han River the next day.

The silent walk to the deeper part of the mansion reminds him so much of those Horror films he likes to watch with Minseok. Jongdae is already bracing himself for the possibilities that Yixing might bring him to a Red Room.

(Okay, wrong movie.)

His train of thoughts is caught off when they finally reaches (at least he thinks) their destination. Jongdae didn't know what to do when Yixing stops in front of a bronze elevator and presses the 'G' button. Of-ing-course, this humongous house has a ing elevator. Just how rich could these people get?! Also, does G stands for G-spot? Because God knows that he don't have one. All he have was a prostate and a dic—

"Are you coming?" Yixing questions, halting him from the direction where his thoughts are going.

Gulping, Jongdae tries his hardest to smile. "I hope so." He murmurs, thinking if Yixing would do some serious on him, at least he'd . When the boy gave him a confused look (clearly not getting what he is implying) Jongdae let out a nervous laugh and follows him inside the elevator.

Thirty seconds later, he nearly got blinded.

While Jongdae is expecting to arrive in a red room full of whips and other PG 18 stuffs, the room—well, more like a 'space' because it is far far bigger—that greeted him when the doors opened is nowhere near from what he was expecting.

His eyes grows a few centimeters wide at the sight before him.

Jongdae's feet are glued to the carpeted floor of the elevator while Yixing takes his keys from his pockets and twirls it around his index finger. He still couldn't bring himself to move while the other boy got off the machine. His mouth ran dry because him, he had never seen something like this before.

Under that humongous house that stood out like a sore thumb in the Apgujeong neighborhood, is a ing parking lot.

A parking lot that is loaded at that.

Lines and lines of expensive cars occupies the space and Jongdae is far too overwhelmed by the fancy brand crests to move. He swear he is going to have a heart attack just by looking at how they glimmer under the lights and just thinking of how expensive they could be is enough to make his eyes and head turn.

, even if they sell all of their property back at home, he don't think it'd surpass all the values these cars have combined. There are probably a hundred or more cars in it.

Everything screams money, from the shiny coating, to the tires that clearly indicates these cars are seldom used. And at the back of his mind, Jongdae is thinking that maybe he could seduce one of the Lus because being this ing rich doesn't sound so bad.

Possibly noticing that Jongdae isn't following him, Yixing halts on his tracks and looks behind his shoulder. Jongdae is still inside the elevator and his eyes are blown wide like he had just seen a monster. Frowning, Yixing roams his eyes in the space to see if something is out.

Not seeing anything strange, he walks back to where the boy is still standing.

"Are you okay? You look sick." He asks with genuine worry.

"Am I okay?!" Jongdae parrots.  "Who the is going to be okay after seeing these?!" He exclaims and motions to the place with both of his hands.

Confused still, Yixing shift his eyes to the parking lot and the cars. To what Jongdae is yipping about, he don't see it. Everything look normal and he is silently questioning if the other could see something that he couldn't. "Everything looks fine to me." He responds which made Jongdae look at him in disbelief.

"Wow..." Jongdae breathes out. "You don't know what I'm talking about, don't you?"

When Yixing nods, Jongdae silently cursed his dad for raising them like a middle classed children. Because if Heechul raised them like the equally rich (okay, maybe not as rich as the Lus) people that they are, he wouldn't be so overwhelmed and not look like a complete moron in front of this rich assed Lu.

Or Zhang.

Whichever he prefers.

Knowing that Yixing wouldn't possibly understand why he is so shook, Jongdae rubs his temple and shakes his head. "You know what? Forget it." He sighs. "Let's just go to school, please." Jongdae pleads and walks out of the elevator.

Smiling, Yixing nods and motions Jongdae to follow him. The latter counts the cars that they passes and daydreams of a universe where his father isn't so frugal and gives everything that he want. ", seriously, how many cars are in here?" He couldn't help but ask.

Shrugging, Yixing continues to walk. "A hundred and ten." He says nonchalantly and Jongdae envies how all of these are so normal for the boy.

"You Lus really know how to show you're rich, don't you?" He grumbles. "So how many are yours?" He then questions just for the heck of it.

Yixing gives him a side glance at that. "Thirty five I guess?" He admits which made Jongdae's jaw drop for the third time that morning. "My Mom sends them without notice."

Jongdae let out another curse. "So the rest are your cousins' then?"

"Yeah. I mean not really." Yixing replies. "The rest are only Yifan's and Sehun's. Han parks his cars on the parking lot above this." He says with a smile.

Of course that asswipe gets to have his own parking lot. Just the thought alone leaves a bitter taste in his mouth.

"Here we are." Yixing happily announces when he finally find the car he is looking for. When Jongdae follows him with his eyes, he let out a tired sigh and hold onto the nearest car because his knees really gave up on him.

His head is spinning due to the fact that Zhang Lu ing Yixing stopped in front of a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. A ing Lamborghini that cost around two million US dollars (that's two billion in won). Jongdae know its value because he witnessed a friend of his dad tried to sell him one. And because Heechul values his money next to his family, he denied because a car like that won't survive the Rural areas where they live. He have no use for things he can't use as he always say.

Now he wished he pursued Heechul to buy it for him.

"l ing give up." He breathes out as he pushes himself from the car he is leaning on. "I don't want to think about all of these anymore." He murmurs and walks to the passenger side. He never thought that someone could be this rich until he met the Lus.

Not dying his .

They're definitely going to die—especially him—because they're going to have a heart attack with just how much fortune these people own.

Opening the door (he struggled a little because it was ing confusing), he is welcomed by a much more astounding sight.

He never thought that it would be possible after all the expensive cars that cost more than his life but it did happened.

It did ing happened.

After his initial reaction which only lasted for five seconds or so, Jongdae doesn't know what to feel anymore.

He takes the object that was on the passenger seat and gives it a blank look. It's smiling at him with wide spectled eyes and while he admits that it's quite adorable, he is questioning what it is doing inside such an expensive car.

The answer to his question came a few moments later when Yixing looks up from the side view mirror and smiles widely at Jongdae. "Hey, you found Harry! I was wondering where I left him." He grins and directs his gaze to the pink unicorn stuffed toy in Jongdae's hands.

"Harry?" Jongdae says in disbelief. "You call this thing 'Harry'?"

"Yup! I named him after Harry Potter because of the glasses." Yixing explains like it is normal for a seventeen years old to own a pink unicorn stuff toy with rainbow tails. Not that Jongdae is judging (lies) because everyone can like whatever they like.

It's just that he never expected this.

But so as the private parking lot full of expensive cars.

"So... Is Harry your childhood toy or something?" Jongdae asks even though Harry doesn't look like he is part of Yixing's childhood. He looks brandnew yet Jongdae is denying that because how could that be possible? Especially from a Lu.

"No." Yixing beams. "I bought him yesterday. I really like Unicorns you see."

Welp.

And so, Kim Jongdae met yet another weirdo who likes animals. Although he's probably weirder than Minseok because he likes a mythical one.

It's like a scene from a cheap teenage flick when all the students halts on whatever they're doing as the smooth sound of car engine resonates within the school.

Different set of eyes follows the slick car while it dashes toward the parking lot reserved only for those who is at the top of the high school food chain. Most gazes at the disappearing vehicle with longing, hopelessly wishing that maybe one day they can get a ride. Of course they are perfectly aware that it's going to be nothing but dream because if you're not a stray or a poor scholar student (rare but it happened once), there's no way in hell that your sorry could sit inside that expensive car. The students can only eye the other occupant with envy and curse their luck that even the kindest of the alpha dogs wouldn't give them one small attention.

Said occupant on the other hand wants nothing but to get out of the car as soon as possible.

Jongdae is on the verge of death as he hold on the straps of his seatbelt while Yixing hums coolly along the song playing on the radio. Some idol group singing about getting high on candy or something? Honestly, he already lost his ability to comprehend while he prays for his dear life.

And when Yixing finally parks in a nearly empty parking lot, Jongdae thanks the heaven's above.

"We're here!" The boy announces as if he hadn't been driving like a madman earlier. Jongdae wonders if he even heard his screams while Yixing maneuvered his way through the traffic like he own the road itself. He swear he saw his life flash before his eyes (partly disappointed after realizing that he had done nothing to be remembered for like run around ) and while he isn't that religious, he started to frantically pray to Jesus to forgive his sins especially the times wherein he scared the chickens. "You okay?" Yixing then questions upon noticing how pale Jongdae had gone.

Jongdae wants to scream a 'NO, YOU ER! DO I LOOK LIKE I'M OKAY TO YOU?! WHAT WERE YOU TRYING TO DO?! KILL US BOTH?!' but he couldn't find his voice still so he resorted to simply nodding.

Satisfied with the response, Yixing smiles and unbuckles his seatbelt.

Jongdae then realized—at the back of his swirling mind—that the Lus do like doing things in style, both on purpose and not.

There is a group students not far from them who are trying too hard to appear casual. It didn't need a genius to guess who they are waiting for. And when the subject of their affection finally opens his car's door, hell let lose as they aggressively waves their hands and scream to get his attention.

Yixing gets out of his car like a model doing a car commercial.

He swings a foot out followed by the other and stands up. He runs his hand to his hair that is being messed up by the wind, making the group of people not so far go on extreme hysterics. The Gods probably love the Lus so much because the gesture itself made the boy look so dangerously y, in a very effortless way (when the Gods showered the world with all the good physical traits, the Lus were probably out and bathing in it). He tugs on the blazer of his uniform, swing his backpack on his shoulder and closes the door of his car. He flashes Jongdae a small smile and wave before walking off. He probably don't know how he affects the people around him or how just walking alone made everything he wear appear so expensive.

He is legit sparkling in their eyes while he walks by them. Even if he didn't spare them a glance (truthfully not realizing that they were all looking at him), the group is more than happy just to be a meter near the third grandchild of Lu Ouyang.

Jongdae on the other hand didn't got off the car as gracefully as Yixing.

He wobbles out—swallowing back the vile that was rising in his throat—and leans on the car for support. His siblings and cousin—who are waiting not so far—approaches him with curiousity. Noticing them, his lower lip wobbles and gives his brothers the saddest look that he could. Which is kind of ugly if you ask Minseok.

"I'm still alive, am I?" He asks with a small voice.

When his brothers continues to give him questioning looks, he sobs and pulls the nearest person into a bone-crushing hug. Unfortunately that person is Minseok.

"What did he do to you?" Zitao questions with glassy eyes as he joined in hugging Minseok. From an outsider's perspective, it'll appear like Yixing did some unexplainable things to Minseok with how Zitao and Jongdae are crying while hugging the elder. (Which kind of doesn't make sense because they should be hugging Jongdae instead.)

Joonmyun merely give his brother a look. While there's a part of him that is worried about him, he couldn't shake the feeling that Jongdae is overreacting and whatever happened isn't that severe.

His vote goes on the latter.

They're in that position when two people approaches them.

Joonmyun, being the one who is not part of the human sandwich, is the first to notice them. He blinks a couple of times—mind not properly comprehending the obnoxious red streaks in the unknown boy's hair or the fact that he sports a mullet in this day and age. Joonmyun subtly wonders if he is aware that he got himself a mullet or not. (Luckily, his companion look normal enough.)

Halting a good distance from them, he clears his throat. Zitao and Jongdae's sobbing stops and they give the newcomers a curious glance. Joonmyun and Minseok doing the same.

Satisfied that he got their attention, mullet-dude (Zitao named) beams and stretches his arms wide. "Welcome to the Xi School of Arts and Businesses!" He exclaims while the girl throw confettis that she had in a paper bag. "My name is Byun Baek—knock it off! What are you trying to do? Feed me some?!" He snarls toward the girl who is aggressively throwing him tons of confettis.

As if just realizing it, the girl let out a 'oops' and laughs nervously.

Satisfied that no papers and plastic are entering his mouth, mullet-dude clears his throat. "As I was saying, My name is Byun Baekhyun and this is Ahn Heeyeon," He motions to girl who beams in return. "And we are part of the welcoming committee! Yay!" He exclaims before excitedly clapping his hands. The girl did the same while the Kims merely blinks.

Of course their clappings gradually dies down upon noticing how the four boys are giving them weirded looks.

Baekhyun awkwardly clears his throat and coughs. "You are Kim Minseok, Kim Joonmyun, Kim Jongdae, and Huang Zitao, right?" He ask. After they simultaneously bobs their head, he let out a relieved sigh. ", I thought I got the wrong people for a moment there."

When the Kims continues to stand there unmoving, Baekhyun frowns and places his hands on his hips. "Are you guys mute? Can't you, like, thank us for going our way to welcome you?"

This seems to wake Joonmyun up from his dazed state. The boy scrambles to react and did an amazing ninety-degrees bow. "I-I'm sorry! Thank you for welcoming us!" He exclaims then gave the two a strained smile.

The grin is back on Baekhyun's face. "Gosh, you really do talk with a farmer's accent." Whatever that meant. "No offence though, I think it's cute." He assures with a wink.

Not finding any proper response Joonmyun merely let out a forced laugh. "Thank you? I guess." He whispers the last part.

"You're welcome." Baekhyun says with a nonchalant wave.

"I have a question." Zitao bravely raises a hand. Joonmyun has a hunch to what he is going to ask but instead of stopping him like he usually do, he let the boy. At the back of his mind, he want this Baekhyun to be offended because he is slightly bitter of his comment. When Baekhyun says 'go on' he nearly cackles at the question that leave the mouth of their youngest.

"Why the are you wearing a mullet? That's like a fashion crime." Zitao questions without remorse.

The smile on Baekhyun's face freezes and Heeyeon mutters a 'oh boy'  before stepping a few feet away from him. A clear offended laugh comes out of the boy's mouth before he started doing this sort of breathing exercise. He paces for a few moment like he's trying to clear his head, until moments later, he gives up and the smile he wears completely disappears off his face.

"Listen up here you, sleep-deprived hobo, do you think I like this?" He half-screams which startles the four of them. "See this?" Baekhyun points to his hair. "This what happens when you drink too much alcohol and makes a bet with an ugly football player with huge equally ugly ears! You think I want this?! I ing don't! Do you know how painful it is to wake up and see that your beautiful hair had turn into a ing mullet?! Do you?! And these ing extensions are stuck! I need to wait for one more month so that my hairdresser can remove them! Until then I have to live off with this ugly hair!" He rants before covering his face with his hands and cries loudly.

Heeyeon who is cringing, comes back to his side and pats his back. "Sorry," She apologizes. "He's really sensitive about his hair." She whispers which is kind of stupid because Baekhyun obviously can still hear her.

When Jongdae gives him an accusing look, Zitao raises both of his hand in defense. "What? I never expected him to react that way!" He says but all he got was Jongdae squinting his eyes and shaking his head in disappointment.

"Of course you don't." Jongdae clicks his tongue.

Baekhyun continues to cry his heart out and now Joonmyun is partially regretting not stopping Zitao earlier. The boy looks to be in genuine anguish while he sobbing. He is thinking of ways to make him stop, something or anything that his mom does whenever he cries, so that Baekhyun would stop crying because let's be honest, it's kind of awkward.

Yet, before he could open his mouth, the comfort came from someone they weren't expecting.

"I think it looks good on you though." The voice manage to stand out from Baekhyun's muffled wails, successfully putting a stop to the boy.

Sniffing, Baekhyun removes his hands and come face to face with the shortest boy in the group. He is looking at him with interest and after noticing that he got his attention, a smile forms on the boy's lips. "Your hair," He points at his. "I think it's cool and you look nice, like a cool kind of nice." He comments and Joonmyun swear Baekhyun's eyes sparkles along Minseok's words.

"You think so?" Baekhyun asks with a soft voice.

"Yes." Minseok confirms with a smile.

"That's the first time somebody said that to me." The boy speak and clutches his chest—feeling the warmth of Minseok's words spread all throughout his body. It is like an Angel itself had descended from heaven and blessed him with kind words when he's already on the verge of giving up.

Joonmyun watch with mild fear as Minseok pat Baekhyun's hair while the boy wipes his tears with his handkerchief. Sometimes he wonders if his brother is aware of his ability to have anyone wrapped up around his little fingers.

His intuition says no and Joonmyun shivers in fear.

This happens a lot and what's scary is the fact that his older brother don't even realized it.

"You're my new favorite person." Baekhyun coos, squeezing Minseok's face in between his hands while he does so. "Okay, I'm so sorry for breaking down." He says upon letting go of the other boy's face. Baekhyun fans himself as a poor attempt of making it look like he never cried in the first place. "But as I was saying, We welcome you. Hani, please give me the map and the whistle."

Heeding to his request, the girl takes the items and gives them to the boy who in turn give it to them. Jongdae thought it is stupid because he could have just ask the girl to do so.

"In your hand is the map of the entire school." Baekhyun starts. "This place is unreasonably huge so if you don't want to get lost and only find your way out the next day, I suggest you held on to it."

"Okay." Joonmyun nods while examining the map that shows the entire expanse of the school. Noticing the whistle, the boy raises it. "So what's the whistle for?" He asks.

"Oh, that. That's your emergency R whistle."

"R?" It is Jongdae who asks. When Baekhyun mouths the word, the three of them pales.

"W-what?!" Zitao shrieks. "D-did that happened before?!"

Clearing , Heeyeon sees this as the time for her to intervene knowing perfectly well that Baekhyun has a knack for spreading rumors. "Fortunately, no. We just thought we'd provide this because you'll never know. The world is a very unpredictable place." She says in a very serious voice.

The horror written on the trio's face is too funny to ignore. Lucky for her, she manages to hold her laughter in. "Don't worry. Aside from that we also share information that's not written in the student handbook so that people like you can stay away from trouble." She assures.

"So ready to start your first day?" Baekhyun questions with a grin.

When he got no response, he laughs loudly and goes behind them before pushing them to the direction of the school building.

"Trust us, we will not let you get eaten by the wolves." Baekhyun grins widely as he pushes the four of them to where those wolves obviously resides.

God's possibly still shaking his head in disappointment.
