Entry 8

9:50pm

After the firework show, we rode the train back in silence. One, I was still shocked about the revelation. Two, Hanbin fell asleep.

I stared at his sleeping form. He was peacefully asleep, as if he hadn’t shaken my world just half an hour ago.

He’s insane. Hot, but insane.

I got to sit in the window seat and I watched the country side thinking about the one thing I had managed to forget the whole day.

Jungkook.

I was confused with the words he had said to me the other day. Why would he say that to me, I don’t remember ever crying in front of Jungkook. Not even when I was being bullied.

Yet, he looked so concerned as if- as if he cared about me.

I feel myself blush. Does this boy, the boy of my dreams. Maybe care about me?

If only. . .

10:15pm

We approach the front step of my apartment complex. I step up and reach for the knob, but I turn to look at Hanbin who still was groggy from his 30 minute nap.

“Thank you for today.”I smile.

He returns it happily and steps up to me closing whatever gap we had. “You too, Little Ji.”

He caresses my cheek and smiles widely.

“Hanbin-”

“PARK JIHYO!”

I look towards the road and see my brother Jinyoung, Mark, Nayeon, and the last person I expected to see.

“Oppa? Everyone? Why are you guys here?” more importantly why is the boy of my dreams with them.

Jungkook was standing there, eyes widened and staring heatedly at Hanbin. Why? Why was he here?

“Why? I find out through someone else that my sister was involved in some kind of fight, didn’t show up to school, and had no one know where she was! Where did you expected me to be Jihyo?!” Jinyoung yelled. Oppa has never been mad at me.

With every word he spoke I couldn’t help but flinch at his tone.

“Hanbin-ssi? Is that you?” Nayeon spoke up from behind him.

“Nayeon, nice to see you. Well not in these circumstances.” He laughed. He turned to look at Jinyoung and Oppa approached him, I could literally see fire in his eyes.

“Who the hell are you?!” He said through gritted teeth. “And why were you standing so close to my little sister?”

“My name is Kim Hanbin, student at Yang High, also I do recall meeting you last season.” Hanbin stepped closer to him.

I couldn’t help but shake in fear. I grab Hanbin by the arm, but Jinyoung pulls me away pushing me into Nayeon’s arms.

“He’s the wingback of Yang High’s soccer team. Rumored one of the best in Yang history.” Mark explained.

“The one who got passed me last year?”

“That’s the one.” Mark confirmed.

“You sure were a challenge, but luckily I was able to get passed you.” Hanbin smirked.

“Enough!” Jinyoung yelled. “Where did you and my sister go?”

“Oppa. we were-”

“Jihyo SHUT UP!” He yelled at me with such fury.

I feel tears form, and I couldn’t help but feel rage. He has never been mad at me. Nor has he ever yelled at me? Why?

“NO!” I push him away from Hanbin. “You do not have any right to yell at him. Hanbin is a friend and if you hurt my friends-” Jinyoung stepped back shocked at my outburst. “I will never forgive you.” I finish.

I could feel everyone's stares. But I couldn’t let Hanbin take the heat when all he did was help me, made me feel happy. He didn’t deserve such treatment.

I feel a hand grab my wrist, I look up to see Nayeon hold me and Hanbin. “Let’s go.” she pulled away from my apartment complex leaving behind my utterly shocked brother and his friend.

We left behind what I couldn’t believe.

The empty spot where Jungkook once stood.

1:00am

I ended up sleeping over at Nayeon’s. I called Sungjin Oppa who was stuck at work and asked for permission to sleepover. Not aware of what was happening he agreed right away without questions.

When Nayeon pulled us away she lead us to the bus stop.

“Here is where we part Hanbin-ssi. Please let Jennie know where you are? She was asking earlier about you?”

I didn’t even get to say goodbye. I was pulled away, but as I looked back I saw him smiling at me.

He was okay.

Good, but now i have something else to worry about.

Where did Jungkook go?

I was so worried about Jinyoung beating up Hanbin; I didn't see where he went.

Was he mad?

Was he there because of me? Or because Jinyoung asked him to be?

As I lay here in Nayeon’s room, with Nayeon’s snoring echoing in the room. I couldn’t help but wonder.

Was today a good day? Or was it a bad day?

Special Insert:

Hanbin waited for the bus to arrive, silently hoping that she would be okay.

Today he felt very warm and comfortable with Jihyo.

From the first day he had run into her in the arcade, he was very entranced by her. She was beautiful.

Her milky white skin, big eyes, long hair, and great body.

She was captivating.

But the moment he saw that guy yell at her, he felt the urge to protect her. And by the looks of the guy, he feared his presence would only hurt her more.

Ridding her goodbye, he somewhat regretfully left her behind to deal with the douchebag. Never expecting to see her again.

But as big as Seoul was, it seemed it wasn’t big enough.

Bobby came to him one early morning at school and told him about the possible merge. He was furious that his school, who his seniors polished into what it was now be destroyed over the stupid reason of budget cuts.

No he wouldn’t allow that.

He showed up at Park High ready to fight, but he was not expecting the fight to be for something else.

A male strikes a female, but what was worse about that day. Was that the one who was struck, was the very beauty he had been enchanted with. He regreted leaving her behind that day with that guy. And today he would avenge her.

In a way- a very twisted way, he was glad that the events had unfolded as they had.

After the chat he had with her after the fight they were on speaking terms, aquatinces. And now he had spend some quality time with Jihyo. And after the day they had, he had started to fall for the girl.

He knew she liked someone else, but today he had managed to keep her attention on solely him. Maybe he could make her forget the boys she was crushing on, just maybe he could be hers.

His thoughts were interrupted by a cough behind him. He turned to see one of the boys who stood behind Jihyo’s brother.

“May I help you?” He decided to speak first. He wasn’t afraid. He knew how to defend himself, and this guy didn’t seem like the type to fight, After all, he took the punches from the douchebag who hit Jihyo.

“You left that day, carrying Yugyeom’s body out of the campus as I laid on the ground unable to stand.”

“So what? He’s fine, it’s not my fault if he hasn’t faced you yet.”

The boys eyes widened, but he didn’t move. He watched Hanbin, and Hanbin watched him.

“What did you do to him?”

“Roughed him up, he can’t hit women like that. Especially my little Ji.”

Hanbin is not sure why of what he just said trigger the boy. The boy marched right at him and swung striking him on the cheek. Hanbin recovered and did the same.

“What the hell was that for punk?”

“She is not yours.”

“Oh yeah, and what is she to you?”

He didn’t reply, so Hanbin stepped forwards and so did he.

“I asked you, what is she to you punk?!”

“She’s mine.” he boldly declared.

“Yeah right, and who are you to think that?”

“Come near her again, and you’re dead.” They boy threatened. He started to walk away, and Hanbin was about to go after him but he stopped. WIthout turning he spoke. “You might have passed Jinyoung easily, but you won’t get passed me.”

Finally looking back, he looked at Hanbin dead in the eye. “By the way, you’re a wingback huh? Well I’m an attacker, Park High's attacker. Jeon Jungkook.”

And with that he finally walked away.

One thing was for sure.

Hanbin was pissed. And he would be damned if he lost to him.
