‘Trust me’. That was ironically amusing for me to say those words after placing a huge amount of trust on Seulgi. But I wasn’t going to rub that onto his face. He was practically wallowing in his own pool of sadness right now. I wasn’t planning to make it worse than he’s already feeling.

Talking to Jungkook, I came to learn of the full story, now being able to see the full picture. It was the same exact sob story being told in class which has now spread like wildfire but looking at it from his perspective, his point of view - he wasn't fully to be blamed. 

“I went out with Seulgi out of spite. I just didn't like how Yoojung was hanging out with her male friends and I grew jealous.” His head leaning on my shoulders, the warmth from his skin radiates the high emotions he was feeling at the time. We both stayed in this position for a long time. “But I couldn't confront her about it since we were never dating in the first place. I am in no position to tell her off.” His voice cracked as he resumed. “Maybe Yoojung will never see me more than just a friend.”

God, seeing him heartbroken tugged my heart – exposing such a vulnerable side of his to me. His face flushed with the emotions overwhelming him, paired with his red and swollen eyes. He looked dishevelled, confused and lonely a whole different look when I first met him during freshman year. He must have loved Yoojung to go through so much pain to the extent whereby he could no longer function as he used too.

“Don’t say that.” I ruffled his hair gently, empathising his situation right now. I didn’t know what to say but I do know that my presence made him feel better.

“Ahreum.” He breathed my name as he looked at me. He pulled his head back slightly away from the crook of my shoulders.

“Yeah?” I shoot him a small yet apologetic grin. A grin at how my name sounded from his lips – it’s been more than a month since he called my name and I genuinely missed how the sound my name rolled out of the tip of his tongue.

“Did you know, for the past month or so I was angry at the situation I was in. I had no one to let out my frustrations, my anger, my confusion and so the only source of release was Seulgi. I felt alone. I was scared.” He dived his head into the gap between his thighs with his hands gripping on his head.
