The other woman laughed at her. “Don’t be so nervous Seul. She ain’t ditching you.”

“I know. I feel like I can’t stay in one place right now. I wanna see her.”

“You’ll be forever whipped Kang.”

 

“BAE JOOHYUN!”

“Bye Dad!”

“Come back here!”

“I promise Kang Seul’s gonna bring me back before midnight!”

A small bear was handed to her.

She wrapped her arms around her girlfriend’s neck and smiled.

 

“Even if you give me , I’ll accept it.” She laughed. “Your sincerity is what matters the most. Always remember that Kang.”

“Yes Bae.”

“Now where will we go?”

“My room.”

“I’m suspicious.”

“I told your father no adult things before our legal age. You’re safe with me.”

“Ugh.” She grunted. “I keep on fidgeting! What if I tripped myself while walking?”

Seulgi left the party at ten in the evening so she can have time to fix up Joohyun and let her sober up before going home.

At the moment, she’s helping the bunny throw her stomach out in the toilet. Too much drinking is the worst.

 

“Seul, my head hurts.”

“That’s normal baby. You still have an hour to rest.”

 

She carried her girlfriend on her bed and Joohyun quickly fell asleep.

 

“It’s gonna start! Be ready!”

Seulgi got more nervous. “. Moon Byulyi, I’m ing edgy right now!” she hissed.

“Stop moving too much.”

“I can’t!”

“You have to.”

 

Then you smiled over your shoulder
For a minute I was stone-cold sober
I pulled you closer to my chest

 

“I’m a hopeless case to your Dad.”

“Don’t say that bear.”

“Stop looking down on yourself!”

 

The couple are at the back of the school’s gymnasium where they usually wind up and forget everything that is not them.

 

“I promise I’ll be a better person for you.”

“Seul…”

“I told your Dad I will be.”

 

Seulgi’s POV

I can’t believe I’m seeing this.

There she is again with her friends. She looks so ethereal—it’s unreal.

 

“Hey.”

“Yeah? Do you need anything?”

“No.”

 

Pause.

 

“You look so dumb staring at her.”

“I can be dumb for her.”

 

Jungyeon faked a gag.

 

“You’re so gross Seul.”

 

We were so different back in high school. I never get to see you in a bus station because you got your family car to drive you to and fro the school. How did I attract you again?

Oh yeah. I threw my jacket to you.

 

It is a rare moment when I get to be alone with her. She’s always with her friends. When she goes to the bathroom, when she gotta go buy something in the canteen, when she needs to go somewhere—she’s always with a friend. I can’t approach her because I’m too scared and embarrassed as hell after that incident.

I just asked for her name and they all laughed at me.

Now I’m with her at a waiting shed—I’m waiting for the bus and well, maybe she’s waiting for her driver to come.

I was standing while she’s rubbing her hands on her forearms as she was sitting on the cold metal chair of the shed. I almost forgot about the weather.

I removed my jacket as I think of ways how to talk to her.

It was my chance.

 

“Here.”

 

And I blew it.

Kang ing Seul to the gi threw—THREW—her jacket to her beloved.

Roughly smooth Kang.

 

“T-Thanks.”

 

Then she told me…

 

“You’re the tsundere type, aren’t you?” She said again.

 

I’ve heard the ‘tsundere’ word before (courtesy of Momo because she’s from Japan) but I can’t talk to her because I was too stoned at the thought that she was talking to me.

When I was ready to reply…

 

“Oh, my driver’s here. See you Seulgi-ssi. I’ll just bring back your jacket to you by tomorrow.”

 

I could’ve taken her number at least.

 

Your friends didn’t like me at first sight—especially that Eunbi girl. I knew when you started hanging out with me, it’ll be a very hard path to court your trust. So I started with your friends.

I never thought you were the jealous type though.

 

“Joohyun-ah, I’ll borrow Seulgi for a moment.” Sana said.

 

I stared at her, waiting for her to say something.

 

“Okay.” She replied. She didn’t even bother to look at me.

 

I thought maybe you didn’t like that much. Most of the time, you answer me with close-ended replies when I try to strike a conversation with you.

 

I sighed. “We’ll be back.” I told everyone.

 

Since then I started hanging out with your group and you seemed to hate me more after that.

 

“Hey, did I do something wrong?”

“No.”

“Why are you not talking to me?”

“Just because.”

 

I knew I needed you

But I never showed

 

“Why don’t you just tell her?”

“No. I can’t. As if she doesn’t hate me enough.”

Byulyi shook her head. “You’ll never know if she feels the same or not if you don’t stop mopping around.”

“It’s not that easy.”

 

But I wanna stay with you

Until we're grey and old

 

I’m taking this chance. Maybe Byulyi’s right.

 

“Joohyun.”

“Do you need anything?”

 

You’re all alone—for the first time.

 

“Uh, can we talk for a minute?”

“I have so many things to do Seul. Maybe some other time.”

 

I was contemplating of I should just force you and back out.

 

“Please.”

“Seul—”
