During dinner, we were introducing ourselves when my dad asked, “What's the special occasion Tzu? You never bring anyone home. Your close friend?” 

Both Sana and I got nervous.

I took a long pause and I could feel my heart pounding. 

“We’re dating.”

I could see my father’s smile being wiped off his face in slow motion. His forehead creased as he frowned. My mom just looked at me in disappointment while Baekhyun gave me an encouraging smile. 

“Sana. Get out of our house now.” 

“Dad wait-”

“I said GET OUT! Before you get dragged out.” 

Tears flowed down my cheeks as I saw Sana’s face being wetted with tears too. I gripped her hand and shot her a comforting smile. 

“Dad. We’re dating if you like it or not.” I stuttered as my throat got clogged with phlegm due to my tears. 

“Tzuyu. If you can't accept our family’s ‘no gay’ policy, leave.” 

My dad only calls me by my name when he's serious yet hurt. 

“Fine.”

I stood up and bowed to my parents. I didn't let go of Sana’s hands as we walked out of my house, leaving a shocked family behind.
